Question: Does Xur's items always contain upgrades for your second class?

I just realized that the hunter helmet from 2 weeks ago and the chest piece from last weekend both had bonuses for blade dancers, but not Gunslingers.

And yes, I'm a part of the seemingly small minority of Hunters that prefer Gunslinger.

No. The titan helmet I got modifies the first subclass.

So this Queen's stuff is literally just another line of bounties from the existing bounty dude?

That's disappointing

6 bounties a day
6 random story missions with modifiers (each gives you a legendary item)
queens REP vendor that sells blue items, shaders and a class item.

You can also break down the duplicate or not wanted mission rewards for ass shards. Three per item.

Aww yiss just hit 20.

Now what? :)

Heartache and anger.

What I was saying to E92 (had to double check that wasn't actually you I was responding to!) was that if one game has already almost ruined his life and he senses any similarity in his behavior patterns, he should act accordingly. Yes, in your case playing a bit less would mean taking longer to catch up with your bros, but if it were going to have any kind of serious negative impact on the rest of your life that would be the more important point.

Indeed. Gunbound was back in my younger days and I had room to fuck up things, but now I am a grown man with responsibilities. Yet all I want to do is play Destiny. I finally understand how people get addicted to MMOs.

I have rarely seen a game with a core gameplay loop as polished and sharp as the one in Destiny.

For people who don't like grinding/loot hunting/farming/etc, it's probably entirely unappealing, but for people who love the gunplay, the pvp, and the pve, it's space magic.

Fortunately, I'm one of the latter. This game is my modern day PSO, only better, because it's a finely crafted FPS.

Now they just need to hit 60fps and I'll call it the mighty GOAT.

The gunplay is what captured me, the PVP and PVE is what keeps me going and the loot has me by the balls. Those fucking spinning reward squares are like cocaine. I love to see those squares spin and see what I get.

There should be a 10 min cool down penalty at the very least for any quitters in a Crucible match. That would eliminate penalise genuine people who have been perhaps disconnected or had to leave because they have a life. For everyone else they need to wait every time before jumping back in.

Yes, holy crap, especially in skirmish, that shit gets so annoying.

The problem is being forced to play on terrible maps. If they gave the option to veto certain maps, I would then not leave, but I refuse to play on bad maps and waste my time and not have fun.

Doing the headshot bounties with the handcannon and scout rifle is tooouuuugh when everyone else is using auto rifles.

Doesn't help the Thorn is absolutely terrible for PvP. Cant wait until I can buy the Lord High Fixer.

I switched from a Shingen to a Silvered Hushwind-D. it has low impact but I find it doesn't matter, fully upgraded it has almost a maxed out stability bar, and its magazine is twice as big as the Shingen.

How about the ROF, though? That's one thing I love in the Shingen. Rapid fire + Stability.

I almost cried after I made the upgrade on my Shingen that reduces ROF for Damage while ADS. The rifle just doesn't feel the same anymore.

Im hoping I can land a brand new stock Shingen-E so I can rekindle the feeling.

I think Hushwind has either similar or higher ROF.

yeah, agree with every word here... PSO on Dreamcast is what I am reminded of the most as well.

I traditionally don't like "grinding" in any of its myriad definitions at all, either. but the affiliated gameplay that constitutes what you do to grind in this game saves it. like, you're telling me I should kill 10,000 more aliens? count me the fuck in.

If conditions were ideal then that would work. But what about people with spotty internet who get disconnected? I hear about crap like that happening a lot with this game. It's happened to be a couple times when my internet was fine, it was the servers.

So then you say that it will only happen if you choose the quit option. Then we'll still have kids power cycling their routers to get around it.

I just wish the game were better at filling the spots. In multiplayer it can take up to 5 minutes to fill empty spots, which by then it's far too late. And in a strike? Well it may never fill the spot for some god forsaken reason.

What's the easiest queen's bounty mission to run solo? Someone mentioned restoration on earth but I've restarted over 30 times trying to get it and no luck, so what else?

Rate of Fire isn't an issue, as you can see.

It also has a stability upgrade on it. Both bars are basically maxed after you upgrade it. The impact is really low, which sucks, so I'm still trying to decide if it's a good tradeoff.

Pretty much this.

Many other games, my response to seeing '5000 <weapon> kills to unlock xp bonus', my response would be either 'ugh' or the power button.

Here it's more 'well shit, which one of my scout rifles do I want to experiment with and level?'

Just need advice on my gameplan here to reach level 30

Current Level: 27

So I have an exotic helmet, legendary chest and gauntlets and rare boots. Since I have been told that raid gear is needed since the legendary stuff maxes at 27 light, while raid gear maxes to 30 like exotic gear, I am focusing more on getting ascedant shards and on getting new weapons.

If this the right strategy? If I buy legendary boots they won't get me to 30, upgrading the legendary armour won't get me to 30, so it will just be a waste of ascendant shards no?

Looks like I need to keep playing the raid and finding those chests to get raid gear, and getting vanguard marks to get new weapons.

Any suggestions?

Please provide me with reassurance this plan will be fine.

It might help to keep in mind that the hard cap is actually a fairly low ceiling compared to MMO standards. Even if you do pull back a little bit and your friends hit 30 before you and you need to catch up, the chase won't be as endless as it feels in many games.

I had a dream last night that my friend (who doesn't even play Destiny) tried to blink behind me. I turned around and slapped him in the face. Then I woke up...

Oh good... I'm not the only one who has these problems.

I might start up a local chapter for DA (Destiny Anonymous).

"Hi, my name is XYZ ('hi XYZ!...'), and I'm addicted to Destiny."

So how are people getting instant Legendaries off the queen? Is it that damn strike mission? Because grinding for her hasn't gotten me shit so far. :p

someone earlier said they couldn't get restoration either. Are we victim of another Bungie hotfix?

Hmm, I hope they don't fix the legendary drops. I need some of them shards!

I appreciate your support for my well being! GAF intervention will be coming any day now hahaha

I checked the quests after I posted. The main point of the post was to find out which was better.

I have the Pocket Infinity bounty but I haven't completed it yet (missing one rare fusion rifle :<). From what I've read though, it's a beast in PvP and solid in PvE as well, so probably a safe choice all around, especially if you like FRs (I love them in both pvp and pve so...)

Super Good Advice on the other hand, I do have completed and fully leveled.

It's 'return missed shots as ammo' ability is insanely good. I held the trigger down for a good second one time without the ammo counter depleting.

However, it has monster recoil, so if you don't like unruly HMGs, you probably won't enjoy it.

I would say Pocket Infinity if you like FRs, SGA only if you really enjoy HMGs. I like it a lot, but I love HMGs, so...

Certain things about this game boggle my mind the more I play.

First, why no map when doing patrol? How is this not a thing?

Second, using ammo packs - how can we not have this assigned to a button? I have to go into a menu during an encounter to reload?

Third, how, in 2014, is there not a way to see and join matches with your clan mates? If there's ever been a FPS where clan support is needed and makes sense (outside of PS), then this is it.

The Queen's event so far is

- Bounty to repeat the first mission of the game
- Bounty to repeat the 4th moon mission
- Bounty to headshot 200 Fallen
- Some PVP bounties just because
- Do a random story mission playlist that has been renamed "Queens Wrath" but still has all the same story cutscenes and dialogue it had before. After finishing this you get legendary loot.

It's a shame the reviews couldn't wait until this incredible content! Man, what the hell happened to Bungie?

Quick question on the Queen's stuff...

I picked up some of her bounties but not the PvP stuff. Do I have to complete ALL of her bounties or as many as I want (with the understanding that fewer bounties/missions = less loot)?
