LONG POST WARNING
Maybe how I posted my point wasn't the best way to do it.
sorry to all who have been deeply effected by it and will set up some sort of helpline for you all to call so you can get someone who can talk you through your pain.
But my point still stands, I have been playing this game for just under 80 hours now.
I have spent A LOT of that time having to grind and farm engrams just for them to turn blue.
I was excited about the promise that "the queens wrath" was coming. I was like thank fuck for that as honestly if I have to go through one of those strikes again I don't know what I will do. I have been trying to get to what people have been saying "is an amazing raid"
But I simply cannot do this without a quite frankly painful experience.
The way it is written makes it sound like there is almost a chance of new content. which this game is dying for, PVP is solid I love it, but I want to experience the raid that has been so heavily advertised recently. but not like this. Not with having to grind out really really difficult missions just to be given coins, or having to shoot one place for hours at a time. If activision wants me to buy armor for $2.50 then damn, just let me, as I just want to ENJOY the game, not be absolutely destroyed by it at any given time.
Now as much as people hate to say it and I have in the past defended the fact that destiny is not an MMO, but you see it has done something that truly baffles me, how can my absolute favorite developer since I was like 13 do something that takes the grind and absolutely horrible use of RNG then lock content away behind it.
Now I get they want you to learn the ins and outs of the game as the raid is difficult and I can get that, but what I cannot get is the fact that there isn't really much story. There is however a lot of dodging the story at any point "we could tell you the stories" "I have no time to tell you now" ect ect,. I have actually learnt 100 times more about destiny by reading cards, now if this was a card game, then well it'd be up there with magic as it's interesting as heck. But no its a video game.
This game has a super short and quite frankly incoherent story which never does anything or goes anywhere, WHO THE HELL WAS THAT OTHER GUARDIAN?!
Well without reading the cards, good luck finding that out.
I just want to say that, I hoped and dreamed this would be a Halo type shooter that then mixed the vast and rich lore and awesomeness of an MMO, sure with some grinds but with rewards, you know what would have been even nicer?
Well the fact that your subclass still ranks once you hit 20, maybe they should have just let that number increase to whatever the number was AND THEN add the light point on to that so the player at least had the illusion of getting somewhere.
