What? Attention is what I want? Umm. No I don't care about that either.
I'm just stating my opinion. Yes this game is shitty. Why is it shitty? Do I really need to write all that shit out again for the trillion time? There have been plenty of people explaining exactly why it's a shitty game.
I have been big fans of Bungie since the beginning, before even truly knowing Bungie existed. My little self played the first two Myth games and loved the hell out of them. Then after awhile I played Oni and then I think came the videos for Halo for PC. It was before it was ever revealed as an Xbox Exclusive. Halo looked amazing on PC, with those dinosaurs and stuff running around. I believe it was supposed to be an open world or had huge levels anyway.
Either way I was hooked. I played the first Halo and loved it. I didn't purchase an Xbox till late in the game but I loved Halo and then Halo 3, ODST and then Reach. Those games had amazing stories and especially ODST was brilliant. The gunplay was always tight as fuck, the multiplayer experiences amazing and had so many amazing features that defined first person shooters on consoles in my opinion.
Now fastforward to the reveal of Destiny. I wasn't that hyped about it, because I didn't really understand what it was they were trying to create. Bungie had a very difficult way of communicating to their fans what exactly Destiny was. Grandeur explanations were being told that this was going to be a game of legends. They never did say that this game was going to be like Halo in any way, but they did claim that the story in Destiny would be as good or if not better than anything Bungie had done before it.
When the gameplay reveals came out I really started getting hyped. It looked amazing and the promise of huge playspaces where you can explore with your friends and never encounter the same stuff too much, but always have something new and awesome RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. I feel like they said that in one of their Vidocs. And holy shit man why the fuck wouldn't I believe the creators of these amazing games that I've come to respect and enjoy over the years? Bungie has an amazing track record, and all the stuff they showed for Destiny just looked amazing as well.
Then the alpha came out. OH MY GOD. That shit was amazing son. Getting to lvl 8 and having that carrot right in front of your nose, you just wanted to get to use that blue gear. The missions weren't the greatest, but everybody assumed that this was only the beginning. Bungie teased as much and stated that the Alpha only represented like less than 10% of the entire game. Well I thought goddamn it must be really big and have a shitton of missions and strikes I'll be able to play. At least 9 or 10 strikes? It must be!
I started getting less hyped when the Beta didn't offer much more than the alpha. Then we heard about only one area per planet. One area? And I already played both of them in the alpha and beta? The fuck? This can't be right? I begged that those rumors were wrong and Bungie would come out and say something like nahh that shit aint true man, we have tons of playable spaces per planet. They did at one time state this was the biggest game they have ever made, and I think they meant playspaces wise as well.
Now. The game is here. My issues with the game.
-There is no social interaction like at all.
There is no proximity chat to talk to random strangers, in PVE or PVP. WHAT? This is a joke. This game is built around "social" but it has no ways of actually doing any meaningful interactions with other players.
-The clan stuff is garbage. Angry Joe said it best but holy fuck this shit is such a huge mess I don't even want to be in any damn clan if it means me jumping through this many goddamn hoops. I just want a DGAF or GAF tag under my name, that's fucking it.
-The loot system sucks.
Why does a lvl 1 enemy drop the legendary engram I don't get from a strike boss? Why can I be the best player in PVP and not earn SHIT? I'm fine with buying legendary gear from vendors, if they can be acquired through other fair means as well. If I participate in a heroic strike, why should I be rewarded with jack shit? I don't want to farm any goddamn caves either. I did that shit last night for about 20 minutes with four other people in the PVE world and that shit is just boring. But at least you can get some engrams which otherwise take so damn long to get.
-There are not enough PVP modes and the P2P in this day and age is ridiculous. The lag in this game is horrendous sometimes. It's Bungie. And Activision. Are you telling me they couldn't get some dedicated servers for this shit?
-You are only matched up with people from your own country when playing PVE by yourself.
In the tower and in the game worlds, I am only ever matched up with other Dutch people. I'm sure it's to improve my connection but I would like to play with people from other countries, randoms as well. That's how I met a bunch of great only friends in the old Halo games. Just meeting random strangers on your team that become friends for years. I don't want to only play with Dutch people.
-Bungie can't communicate for shit anymore. Why don't they actually communicate with us fans about some of the issues we are having?
-There is zero story actually here. it's disjointed and it makes no sense at all. The Grimoire could be cool but even though I have the app on my phone I just want to read that shit ingame. Voice it or don't voice it. Make more damn cutscenes. Or just put in the ones you cut out for the DLC.
Honestly I can't even go on man. This post is too damn long as it is, but I hope it sheds some light on the reasons why I cannot love this game, I cannot stand behind it and I did request a refund from Sony. This game has dissapointed me like no other games have done in recent years.
It's not like I'm broken up about it, but I've never requested a refund or cancelled a pre-order or any of that bullshit. I never make bullshit posts like that "lol pre-order cancelled blabla". It's just this game is such a disappointment to me.
