Can I make a request for everyone who sends out invites?

Put your intentions for your party/fireteam in the message so we all know what you are planning on doing.

Just a suggestion, because "Play Destiny!" could literally mean anything.

I think the problem, Hawk, is that nothing in-game teaches people how to do this. I mean, look at the mess with the Vanguard cap that's literally fucking people this week if they decided to promote Dead Orbit.

I realized pretty quickly it was dumb to NOT max out Vanguard ASAP, and as a result Crucible. I even started going nuts saying it around the time you did (and you did it far more eloquently, I might add). Public Events were my bros even as people sought out the Treasure Caves of the world.

Playing MMO's since Ultima Online and Neverwinter Nights helped, though, with realizing that. And even then it took me a few days of really looking around....but, remember, Bungie went out of its way to not call it an MMO. They actively fought against the term when they should have just acquiesced so people realized what they were getting into.

As for the game..ot's a lot like the PvP for me. The basics, the underlying systems....when I'm with a full Control team that's complementing each other and giving each other orbs? It's amazing.

There's nothing in-game to really show people any of that, though.
Well first off, the Vanguard/Crucible mark max cap has totally screwed over people who wanted to rep factions first and there was absolutely no warning about it. I had no method of telling people to watch out for that because no one knew. That aspect is totally fucking dumb, and while I get it now, nothing pointed to it beforehand. spendyourmarkseverybody That was just total stumbling awkwardness on Bungie's part.

Otherwise: I agree that the game does not explain its systems well (god, this is a recurring theme in my favorite games... what the fuck)

But my thing is like... I didn't compare it to MMOs to help me. I didn't compare it to other loot games to help me. I didn't really try to compare to to anything... I just sort of kept an open mind and paid attention. and the intended route felt.. really obvious to me :-x I hate even saying that, because I don't think I'm some kind of crazy gaming psychic able to divine the intents of the developers. And I understand why some people find it completely impenetrable. I just didn't really have any expectations about what leveling up in Destiny would be like, and that was what helped me enjoy it so much.

I took a step back and started really looking at all the systems when I was level 22, equipped level 20 boots, and became level 23. I recognized that this was not quite like any system I had really played with before. But.. that just made me want to learn about it, not get mad. :P

Got booted At end of queens mission, finished it tho. Updated and told me I got queens legendary gloves/gauntlets? but can't find any anywhere! Also got armour which has appeared. Any idea where my gloves are?! Sorry if asked already

Is it really worth it doing this Queen shit? My armor is already made of legendary/exotic shit. Can you get any good weapons doing this crap? I find the "epic" difficulty to be garbage game design. You die in three hits. Well done Bungie.

It isn't as though that the sentiment isn't true whatsoever. It's better to trust your gut than to listen to what other people want. Nine times out of ten, people don't even know what they want until someone presents it to them.

"Can't please 'em all" is nice to tell yourself and all that

but bungie wants to jam the fireteam idea down people's throats without even having a working clan system beyond tags and their website

"Can't please 'em all" doesn't mean you just ignore glaring problems because someone out there is upset about thing.

why do I see people at level 20+ in level 4 mission locations? Heavy backtracking in this game?

You get them in a certain order. You don't pick which ones are upgrades.
I see, that's too bad. or rather, it sucks.

I think it could be better to have a dedicated thread for people that just want to play co-op and want to ask if anyone's up for a certain raid or whatever mission.
this thread will be less messy too.

Lol wtf, damn that's a lot harder than I imagined.

So I've given up trying to solo this Queen's Wrath shit. I'm only level 22 but if anyone else is doing them and would allow me to tag along, you can add me on PSN.

PS4 version: XaeroGravity

You can dismantle it for shards which is the stuff you would want at this point.

Dayum. Once you get to the actual boss in the nightfall strike it's easy as hell. Me and one guy stood at the edge of the cliff before you jump down, waited for the boss to drop and then used two Gjallahorns to drop it. The other guy kept the minotaurs that spawned distracted and it dropped in a minute. GG.

everytime. And it's likely to be for your class. I have the worst luck with RNG, and I got a warlock helmet for the first mission, warlock chest for the second. It's either chest or helmet. They're ugly as shit, but at least they're legendary right? lol

Letting the world know that you bought those legendaries with the Queen's food stamps

Got 3 legendary engrams doing the queen's missions. All blue.

RNGod bless the Queen.

Did Queen mission 4 times today. Got dem purps, took the helm and dismantled the rest.

My main man the Cryptarch leveled up. The Postmaster had a legendary gift. Already setting up for disappointment, I got TWO legendary engram from it. Oh, and one of them turned into the Exotic Sniper Rifle "Patience and Time", which I am now rocking. It also got me the "Suited for War" trophy.

I BELIEVE !

Three queens missions done! Two helmets. So full Legendary now! Even the mark! One helmet was meh, one had same perks my Rare had but legendary version so that was awesome!
One chest piece that did nothing for me so I dismantled for shards. First time I dismantled a Legendary. Felt weird...

Saving the helmet for alt since it did not seem to be bound to class but maybe it was. In that case it will be dismantled as well.

Now all I lack is a Legendary Fusion and a Hand Cannon and I am fine =) Gonna buy the Vanguard Hand Cannon if I don't find one first. But it´s 150 marks and I only had 30+ something when this reset started so will have to wait.
But I got the Midas Multitool a few dasy ago so no hurry :D

Time spent at the treasure cave: 0 minutes

Yes. ascendant shards.

Swap to your +armor class modifiers for Epic if you haven't.

Before I dismantle the Queen's cumstained robes, you don't get any hidden bonuses for wearing all clothes from a single faction, do you?

Yep. I always just ignore random invites bc I have no idea what the group is doing. PvP, strikes, raid, skywatch? it could be anything.

I'm on PS4 and I have a party chat open constantly. My suggestion if you're looking for players to play with and are on PS4, go view the available party chats and hop in and see what people are playing rather than sending out blind invites.

Need 1-2 people on my fireteam tonight. I would like to do some of the Queens Bounty stuff and would like to try my hand at the weekly nightfall. I am a 26 Hunter. I'll be ready to go around 6:30pm ET. I NEED THAT PURPLE HELM.

PS4 PSN: GKW212

Also, started a Destiny clan on Bungie. I was bored at work and couldnt help myself.

Join me if you would like: Sgt Slaughters Army

EDIT: I'm pretty much up for anything tonight, was just suggesting a few events/missions. I just want to play because I'm an addict.

I've actually come to really like the light progression system. Many MMOs have gear check fights. You can win the fight with the right gear, you can't without it. Destiny has just implemented this as a core design principle. I'm fine with that. It yields really interesting new possibilities down the line. What if, one day, they release a raid where the boss has like a 1% chance to drop a mark that has Light on it? HOLY SHIT. That would be the most coveted item in the game, by an order of magnitude. Things like this (really extremely unique items that are so sought after) add huge lasting appeal to these kind of games IMO. When I played FFXI, people camped the same monsters for YEARS just to get 1 armor set. In WoW there was the mounts that could drop from Kael'thas.

The light progression system is a really interesting mechanic IMO, and I don't think we've seen it fully explored yet.

No, don't misunderstand me, this is not an attack on you. It was purely an attack on Bungie. Agreed, it was dumb as hell and I still can't believe Bungie did that.

Speaking of which, their community guy (DeeJ?) really has to start talking nonstop on boards / everywhere he can to help explain things / stifle some of the resentment. He won't please everybody, but Bungie's silence is maddening.

I'm not disagreeing. My mindset was much the same. I saw how items dropped, saw the marks, saw who used what Mark (and how limited the Vanguard one really was in terms of useage), and reacted accordingly.

The game is an FPS, though, so I can't knock people for not gathering that. Other FPS games are more....explicit? And even if you didn't consciously draw upon your MMO background, it was still there, helping.

That's not my point nor did I make my claim in order to somehow diminish the thought that Destiny's systems aren't up to par with what they promised.

Frankly, all evidence points to Bungie wanting this game to be socially-oriented from the get go, so something must have happened from the start to release.

<3 talk dirty to me

Letting the world know that you bought those legendaries with the Queen's food stamps

lol

Technically only the helmet cause no way in hell was I saving up 120 marks for the fucking vanguard helmet. Went ahead and bought myself vanguard chest though, looks better and had better discipline than queen's chest.

I only have one more queen's mission I'm willing to do, though I have a bounty for another if I ever complete it. Great way to get ascendant shards though I'll tell you that much. Gonna finish those missions eventually and start saving ascendant shards for whatever raid gear I hopefully get.

these queen headshot bounties are killing my k/d score

I surprisingly pulled off the handcannon ones in rumble, went 22 and 11 and got 9 headshot kills my first game. Think it only took 3 games to get them done.

Everything around me was autorifle and shotty madness.

What are the Queen wrath mission item's for?

Dear Bungie: Post some fucking guides on bungie.net for the love of god.

(They unlock your ability to tackle Queen's missions, level 24 Epic versions of story missions with two random skulls active. Complete them, burns one mark, earns one legendary - friends can help, but you only get legendary loot if you have at least one mission item remaining. Be sure to make use of whatever elemental Burn skull is active, match your special and heavy weapon to the element to wreck the mission)

I almost have all three characters above level 20 and I have a whole bunch of gear ready to equip the new ones with, so like 12 grunted legendary drops a day not including the horrible crucible bounties. Should have a bunch of ascendant mats by the end of this event.

Have you guys seen many level 30s?

I'm level 25 but it seems I can access the raid
I get killed in that area but whatever

Just wondering what it takes to Max my level what gear 30 looks like
