I'm starting to think that no matter the class you play, you think 1 of the other two classes are OP.

My buddy plays hunter, and he get's incredibly frustrated with titan super shield mode and shoulder dash.

Even though I'm proposing this, I don't believe that anything seems to be too OP. I get frustrated when I die, but I actually think the balancing is pretty decent SPECIAL-WISE.

It seems like on every page someone is in here commenting on how one class is OP.

I guess I've never considered the others OP, but I guess I never considered warlock being more OP than others, at best just even, so it surprised me when that came up as being potentially OP.

edit: my point of this being, maybe everything is balanced specialty-wise, and you guys just notice when other classes kill you more?

The only super I think is OP in PvP is Blade Dance. It lasts a long fucking time, moves really damn fast, has enough shield to tank two people focusing you as long as you're not too far away, and allows you to aim at multiple targets in an area which is the biggest plus. Almost all the other supers are basically one shot AOEs that require people to be tightly grouped to get the most kills out of it, while a Blade Dancer could walk around a corner and literally chase down 4 or 5 people who are basically helpless unless they have heavy ammo or a super of their own.

Thanks and it's from the Dead Orbit faction. I've got a shader on though. Here's what it looks like without the shader.

Much cooler with the shader. Still have to get my Vanguard rep up before i can even think about joining another faction...

One day though... one day..

it's bullshit. fist of havok still pisses me off more but arc blade is just hilariously unbalanced

Okay Bungie, I have to admit, the raid is pretty fun. This Queen's Bounty stuff actually sucks (no specific quests for it? really?), and I can already tell Bungie is going the route of giving everyone legendary items (a good move since high level content requires at least light 26), but I just hope there's a reason to grind out loot. By that I mean, if they just give everyone legendary items, then what incentive does anyone have to grind up faction points/strange coins/etc?

For me it is alt builds. With only one exotic piece being able to be equipped at a time, there is viable reason to upgrade alternate pieces of the same type (multiple helmets for example) and other types too. For example for a specific raid you want to go Defender on your Titan so you use the No Backup Plans gauntlets or Helm of Saints. Maybe you want to focus on discipline for grenade cooldown so you use the Armentarium chest plate to get a massive discipline increase and also an extra grenade. Maybe you need to focus on Striker class for a task so you equip Helm of Inmost Light to double-dip on sublcass abilities. Unequipping an exotic helmet and equipping an exotic chest plate means you now need a legendary helmet to equip. You saved one or more to buff the stats you want, right?

Hell, I'm doing this now with legendaries. I know many are breaking all extras down for shards but you may want to consider saving an extra or 2 that have alternate primary stats for different builds to be effective in as many situations as possible.

What's the secret to playing a Sunsinger well in PvP? It seems weaker to me than all the others.

revive + double grenate is awesome.

I thought voidwalker was the better of the two until i forced myself into the class with my exotic gauntlets, but now i'm all about sunsinger.

My follow up question is, what class are you playing? And then my follow-up response is ah-ha! Blade dance requires planning, if you do it too early and there are more than one guys half prepared, you probably just get one kill.

if you plan it and round corners it wrecks. I've taken out plenty of blade dancers with shotty (yeah, i know.)

Bladedancer doesn't stand a chance against a group of 4 or 5 with their primary weapons let alone heavy ammo. That defender shield is bullshit though, as a test I ran in one last night and fired a rocket at the ground, the enemies were hardly scratched for more than a second but I died of course. So that crap is heavy proof.

The only reason I don't see myself quitting this game anytime soon: the Monte Carlo. Dat exotic AR. I need it and will not rest until I get it somehow.

Yeah, I know - I had a void machinegun for the psions and a flame shotgun to handle the centurions. There were just so many of them that it was rough. I eventually gave up right at the spire since there as very little cover + a bunch of phalanxes and centurions that were just destroying me. I was mostly cloaking then sneaking up with the shotgun and one-shotting the Psions, but not so much the Centurions. Starting with little ammo didn't help either each time I died.

My rare solar fusion rifle just eats through the psions shield. Can usually one shot them.

Last Word. I must have it. Must. Must. Hawkmoon is a very close second.

Hand Cannons are my favorite weapon type.

Arc blade is no where near as bad as the Titan supers that are completely unavoidable. Hell, I don't even use Arc Blade in PVP. It's really not that special. The other classes have supers that can get you out of a huge problem, but with arc blade death can still happen swiftly if not used appropriately.

Jerek showed me this and it's nuts.

1)
Everyone die except the person who will hold the relic. They respawn on that ledge and stay up there the whole fight.

2)
The relic holder makes sure they have their glide/jump/whatever set to where they get the highest jumps possible. For Warlocks, you can get an extra boost when you do the glide ability. Just check and read the specs.

3)
The relic holder grabs the relic and the fight begins. If you're the relic holder, you jump on to this small tower on the right of you (from the spawn area, this tower would be on the direct left). Then you jump onto a taller tower, and then you turn around and jump toward the closest tower to the spawn area. There's a small light on this tower, and if you jump toward it, you'll land on a small ledge. From this small ledge, jump to where the team has spawned. Use the relic's R1 air attack to get extra air-time.

4)
When you're up here with the relic, you can aim and use the super on the boss to knock out its shields, and cleanse the team when need be. Everyone is pretty much safe unless they fall off, get hit with the templar's splash damage, or you miss a cleanse. If the boss enrages, a lot more cleanses will be needed.

I recorded a video of this. I can try and upload it later tonight.

Woah, please do.

With all the space magic in the universe, I don't see why you cannot break down something and receive all your shards back that you used to build it. I just used about 20 of them for my gauntlets and of course, the very next strike I got a better pair. I can't bring myself to dismantle the old ones because, well, it took me forever to get them maxed but they are now just taking up space in my vault. Argh.

Also the best tip for the vault final boss I learned from fig:

When Time's Vengeance is activated, the relic's cleanse bubble will never drain and die out until the buff is gone. When you get out of the portal, if you jump to the middle platform and get your whole team inside the bubble, you can deal a ton of damage to the boss since everyone gets a damage boost and can shoot from inside the cleanse bubble.

If you didn't know this you made the raid 10391301x harder. Easily done this way, just make sure not to be too close to the rock so splash damage doesn't get in the bubble, and if a defender titan (Like me!) activates his bubble near the back and everyone goes through that to get the "Weapons of Light" buff it increases damage even more.

Yeah, all of my legendary gear is ready to be maxed out but I feel like spending all of those rare materials will bite me in the ass.

You can. I believe.

I don't even think it's possible to be rank 1 yet, let alone 2.

last word, hardlight and patience and time are on my wish list. wont give rahool the time of day after i have those

Sooo, any suggestions on getting past level 24? For the past few days I've been stuck on that level, since I can't get better rare armor and I haven't got any legendary.

I've tried crucible, doing a couple of daily strikes and even spending some time at that cave.

Maybe I'm doing the wrong things, so anyone care to give me tips?

That's why I regret maxing everything out to get to 28. I hope I don't get anything better soon lol.

I'll quit the game before I stop using my Last Word. I used to be really against hand cannons but man, they can be awesome. The BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM is just so satisfying.

Is there a stat that makes your melee stronger in the crucible? I change out my armor quite a bit and I don't really keep track of my Strength, intellect, etc stats. But it seems like sometimes I can kill in one punch and other times I just barely even take out the persons shield.

Also I seem to get one punched killed a lot even though I'm a titan which I thought would have more of a melee advantage over the other classes. Maybe it's a lag thing where they do actually shoot me a couple times first before they melee me? But it sure seems like a lot of times they just walk up to me and one shot melee me.

I never quite understood this. What does my Vanguard level have to be before I can join another faction?

I don't think you need any rank. You just buy faction specific butt cloth and wear it in then you will earn rep only for that faction and points wont go to vanguard marks or crucible rep. Bounties too only will go to faction.

Get vanguard & crucible marks and rep until you're able to buy legendaries from vendors, then upgrade them as you go.

Can you only get chest and helmet pieces from the queens missions? Is there any others?

Someone posted they received a sniper rifle. That is why I am spamming queens missions. I want that rifle. Bad. Got three chest pieces so far, of course, but sooner or later my luck has to change....right?

I beg to differ...

Yeah, I would really like to get it. Nightfall has yielded an exotic machine gun and an exotic chest piece. Need that gun!!!

Can you farm Nightfall for items? Or are the rare drops a one time thing? Also do you get better items doing Vault of Glass or Nightfall?

I got this guy last night for reaching Vanguard rank 3

*Disregard beta stats. Gun does 248/300

Radar stays active while ADS, extended mags, ricochet bullets.

Fires a bit slow for PvP but should be great for PvE, which I primarily play.

I'll start working on it as soon as I unlock my auto-reload for my Bad JuJu

WTF... i have the same and mine has nothing regarding ADS and radar staying active... mines almost fully upgraded as well?!?!

Do a Queen bounty and then a Queen's Wrath mission (left side of the select destination screen) and you'll get a guaranteed Legendary.

Did the queens missions 3 times (I didn't you know you could leave to orbit and redo Earth mission) doh. I did earth then black garden (which took forever) got the helm twice and the chest just now. Just need exotics now and legendary main weapon! :)

Nightfall gives coins/materials or legendary/exotic random items, which can be quite good.

Raid gives a bunch of raid specific legendary armor (can go to 30 light/level 30 with a full set), and some unique legendaries that have bonuses against enemies in the raid (helps with hard mode primarily).

They're not really 'better', aside from a few special drops I've seen from Atheon, a Solar Scout Rifle that I looted from him and a Void Assault Rifle that one of my fireteam got.
