Hi guys, been a long time reader of this thread but never jumped in, until now...

Level 24, never had a legendary engram drop, till today at the cave. Went back to cyrpty with my soul steeled for the dissapointment that was enitably to follow then it happened, my first Legendary Engram decrypted into... Suros Regime! Suffice to say, I danced, in game and in person.

Are there any exotic helmets for Warlocks? I haven't seen a single one.

A fair few.

The Queen's Wrath missions have an Elemental Burn skull active.

You can identify the skulls active by hitting your touchpad (or whatever button it is on non ps4 systems).

They show up at the bottom left of the screen, any skull with the star, swirl, or flame is the Arc, Void, or Solar skull.

These skulls massively amplify damage from one specific element for both you and enemies. This is why you're exploding to Fallen on the first mission in the game, there's an Arc Burn skull active. Thankfully you can explode them right back with an Arc weapon.

If you don't know what element an enemy has, when you die to them, watch the upper right of the screen, it shows the element they were using. Fallen are mostly arc but the shrapnel launcher deals solar, etc.

Using the burn skulls is the fastest and easiest way to clear all of the wrath missions and the Nightfall strike.

This is also why you want to be storing away a special and heavy weapon of every element.

On top of the burn skulls, each race gains an extra shield on Epic difficulty. Fallen Shanks gain a Solar shield, Hive Knights get Arc, Vex Harpies get Arc, and Cabal Psions get Void.

You deal half damage to shields on Epic difficulty if you hit them with the wrong element, but a burn skull renders this penalty largely irrelevant.

If there is no burn skull active and you're on Epic, you need weapons of the proper elements to fight the races you're facing in any given mission, otherwise it's way more difficult than it needs to be.

Thanks for this in depth explanation.

Also thank you, Hawkian, for your guides as well.

I definitely need to start accumulating some Raid gear.

I know you're almost done with this week's raid, but if you have an open spot next week I'd love to join you guys. I had fun steamrolling those events last night with you and Jared. Thanks man!

No problem dude, and for sure! GAF has a lot of good raiders and players and you're definitely one of them.

Is Bad Seed Down a good weapon?

I got black out drunk last night, played Destiny, and now this is in my primary weapon slot... cool?

It definitely is worth leveling if you like Pulse Rifles. However, once I got Shadow Price from this week's nightfall, I put it away.

This is the easiest Nightfall we've had by far IMO.. But I would never ever recommend someone do a Nightfall mission solo.

Thanks, I'll stick to other stuff. With a newborn at home it's tough to find time to go through the major hassle of trying to find a group. As others have said, hopefully they add matchmaking in a future update as a bunch of the cool content is needlessly blocked off from solo/busy players.

I think people are complaining about the bladedancer a lot because it makes you feel helpless while the other two just kill you. It feels worse to be danced to death than smashed to within an instant....

I agree with this, the other supers pretty much end you in an instant, there would be many times I would pretty much lose an encounter I would have won if the Titan didn't result in using a panic Titan Tantrum attack.

If I were you, if you ever got free time, I'd just add people from this thread to your friendlist for future reference. Everyone here is welcoming and some will definitely help if you shoot them an invite asking for help on whatever it is you're planning.

It would foolish to waste it at the entrance though, just lay it down at the capture zone and you're getting at least three of them down and probably splash damage on the rest. Honestly though I don't mind the blade dancer special. I can go on sprees with it or stop anyone from starting that spree in the right context.

The only way I can defend against this is a warlocks super.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=XKgMRGbpgLQ

But in that situation, you risk being killed at the entrance by the guy there and even if you win that gun fight, the three defending the zone would probably take you out before your super popped. If not them, then the 4th that's farther away (I've killed a number of Titans that I was just out of range of their smash). Which again is my point. Arc Blade gives you the tactical advantage of effectively letting you aim your super around an area and gives you the shield to facilitate that safely, while the others require people to be tightly grouped for multi kills. Even the Shield example there requires people to come to him/her for kills. I agree that is kind of OP for actually capturing a point, but kills are what actually matter in Control.

It definitely is worth leveling if you like Pulse Rifles. However, once I got Shadow Price from this week's nightfall, I put it away.

I honestly don't even know if I like pulse rifles. I do like that upgrades include "full auto" (I know it's not exactly full auto but whatever) and a big bump to stability that will probably make it more AR-esque.

I will try it out tonight and see what's up. I will agree with you that I have my eye on Shadow Price as well. I want to do the nightfall tonight. I am a level 26 hunter. Will I be ok with a decent team?

Might be 27 at some point tonight, just need dem relic irons for my legendary/exotic armor.

I'm starting to realize that farming the cave is only really valuable for a couple things.

1. getting blues when you hit 20 so that you can start worrying about legendaries

2. a decent place to level up your weapons/class

After that farming mats and doing dailies is way more productive at least in between doing strikes and raids.

You'll be fine at 26. The hardest part of the nightfall is where you have to kill the Servitors and that's manageable due to the layout of the area.

Like it's already been said, this is the easiest Nightfall we've had so far.

#3 quickly leveling your Cryptarch rank for legendary engrams.

#4 And if you wait long enough, an easy public event to farm.

For those who found Raid gear, is it only boots or do Raid pieces drop in any slot? Boots seem to be the most popular from reading this thread.

Second question, how far into the Raid do they normally drop or is it random? And do they drop from bosses or from chests?

Thanks!

Shit, I wish I got boots yesterday! I got the same raid gauntlets I got last week...twice! Luckily I go the chest piece to make the raid a somewhat success.

Thanks, I've done that a bit but should add more.

Also, is there a way to join somebody's fireteam without an invite?

That's my take on it as well. It's also a quick way to level up a second guardian.

Anyone down for trying either the Nightfall strike or Raid tonight?

Finally hit 26 (Titan) yesterday so I'm itching to give these a shot! GT on XB1: Ash and Blood

Yeah there are three I think. I have one. All three look terrible in my opinion. Makes it easier to choose heart of the praxis fire over any other exotic though.

After researching it I love the look of two of them. Heart of Praxis fire is probably the best from a stat standpoint but looks plain compared to those two helmets.

Oh, and I went and bought Shadow Price after our games last night and I love it. It is just as good as the Galahad I've been using only its more powerful and has better bonuses.

I realized though that the Exotic upgrade to this weapon is the Suros Regime. I will be making sure I put aside enough Ascendant Energies for that for when I hopefully receive it.

played some queens wrath last night and got some good stuff. Decided to log off and my buddy was gonna do one cave run.

Ended up with Hawkmoon.

CAVE OF WONDERS.

Word, I have a 242 rater solar sniper rifle too which I hear is the element of the week. Oh and a legendary solar machine gun too...

So, with that all said, anyone up for Nightfall around 5pm Central today? I promise not to be anywhere near as drunk as I was last night. Not sure if I'll be able to say the same at 9pm, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I'd definitely be down but don't get off work till 5, so might be free at 5:30-6PM if you haven't started yet.

Two legendary primary weapons in the space of 12 hours. The Super Pox VLO and the Shadow Price. That makes up for the FOUR fucking grinders cloaks from my other legendary drops.

1. Looks like it's laggy as hell. Notice how the bladedancer takes damage a few seconds after they all die. So yea bladedancer would be really tough to kill in that scenario.

2. What did the bladedancer accomplish that a nova bomb or Titan Smash couldnt? They were all in an enclosed area and could easily be taken down by any offensive super.
People say bladedancer is so OP but it can easily be shut down with the golden gun, titan slam, and warlocks super. Its literally only effective in a closed in area like the gif.

The rewards for the queen's wrath event really feels like a "make good": someone at bungie noticed that there weren't enough people doing the raid and the nightfall strikes, so at the last minute they swapped the mission and vendor rewards to get more legendaries out into circulation while they work on a more thorough overhaul of the loot system.

It makes no sense otherwise to grind rep for weapons that aren't any better than what most people at 24 probably have already.

As much as I enjoy PvP in this game, I haven't touched it with dedication since I started raiding. I don't even pick up the Crucible bounties anymore.

I'll add you. That time is fine. I'll screw around and try to get some relic irons for armor upgrades until you're ready. Maybe that'll get me from level 26 to 27.
