I'm so ready for xur on Friday. I have 39 strange coins right meow. If he's selling suros regime or heart of the praxtic fire imma throw my coins at the screen.

I'm not sure I buy this panic theory. I died to them frequently with perfectly placed fusion rifle shots before I realized what ability it was, so I was definitely not panicking (indeed, I wasn't even aware there was anything special going on). I'd be really surprised if a shotgun was actually a kill, as my fusion rifle doesn't even get through the shields with a perfect shot.

Don't get me wrong, it's not really a problem that short range weapons can't counter a short range super. I just don't buy this theory that it's all just because people are panicking... they really do seem virtually unkillable by a single person not using a super (which, y'know, SHOULD be the case. It's a super, after all.)

a titan melee can kill a blade dancer at full health

blade dancers die plenty. the smarter ones that make the most out of angles/elevation and the ones that use invis are the scariest - but very few do that

What strategy did your group use to allow you to be carried? Every group I was with pretty much needed everyone to be somewhat competent.

I wasn't "carried" per se, I just did what I was told to do and didn't die. "Kill adds", "nuke boss", "move left", "kill adds" and so on.

Is this the earth mission? I got the chest from that one, for what it's worth. Aren't there only four possible legendaries, anyway? Even assuming they're equally weighted (and it seems like the two armor pieces may be weighted more heavily), that'd still be a 1/27 chance to get four of the same pieces in a row. Even five in a row is 1/81, over a 1% chance, which is not all that small a chance.

No, I've only been getting the House of Winter(Kill the boss on the ship.) mission and Shrine of Oryx

If I was a betting man, I'd play the lottery with the phenomenal odds I"m getting with the helmets.

No they can't. Not even the stormfist melee can do it. Only the shoulder charge melee can.

Please tell me how to counter...
If I must. Don't say I never did anything for you.

Hard counters (absolutely no recourse for the bladedancer):
Fist of Havoc
Nova Bomb

These are just... I run up to the guy, press R1, they activate, my arc blade bounces off them harmlessly and I die.

Near-guaranteed counters:
Ward of Dawn with Armor of Light + Barrier Melee. Not only is this a solid counter it makes me feel completely pathetic. Instead of risking the chance that a Defender is using this combo, I just absolutely run the fuck away from purple bubbles now. It's that humbling.
Accurate Heavy weapons fire: a high-impact rocket to the face or burst of machine gun headshots will kill a Bladedancer in seconds shield or no shield. Double-jump backwards while aiming and fire. Do not be intimidated. I am not invincible even if it feels that way. If you keep your cool you can cause me to completely waste my super, which there is almost zero risk of for the two hard counters named above.
Shotgun + boosted Melee: A shotgun blast + Shoulder Charge with Barrier Melee is an end to my dancing days. Even if I manage to survive, the then-shielded Titan has me at his mercy unless he totally loses his cool. This goes for Sunsinger Flame Shield too, but obviously they need to pop Radiance for that

Reliable counters needing skill:
Stay calm, back up while jumping, and use the mid-to-close range high-DPS weapon of your choice: If you see a bladedancer coming for you that means you can be shooting at them. Don't panic. Back up while double jumping and aim your fusion rifle, shotgun, or even AR. I have been simply outplayed and killed while using this super. This might be hard to believe (sure as fuck isn't easy), but that's barely a perceptible risk for Void Bomb/Fist/Ward.

Awesome counters:
Arc Blade vs. Arc Blade: okay this doesn't really belong here. but holy fuck is this fun stuff. I wish it happened more often.

There is no counter to being snuck up on by a bladedancer. there is also no counter to being snuck up on by a fusion rifle or a shoulder charge, etc., etc.

Please be responsible with these tips.

Really can't believe they decided not to include matchmaking on the daily and weekly stuff. No one around to help me just to get fucking 3 strange coins. Fuck sake Bungie.

Anyone else think class items should have passive benefits? I know we have faction items that convert rep, but I think it would be nice to have warlock bonds that boost drop rate, increase glimmer income, make ammo boxes drop more, etc.

So far, they seem kinda useless aside from cosmetic reasons.

Quick question- if I get a cloak from a faction to increase rep, does that mean I DONT get regular vanguard/crucible rep?

Just hit 20 and wondering if I can double up, or should leave faction capes off til regular vanguard/crucible reps rise.

Sweet, thanks. Time to destroy!

Is anybody getting stuck at a black loading screen right after they choose their hunter? It's been happening to me for an hour now and I don't think it's on my end. My internet is working just fine.

(I have been resetting my xbox one after every try too)

1. If you're talking about your subclass skills then yes
2. Enemy drops are the only way. You won't get any from just completing the mission. If you want legendary gear then join a faction and get its rep up to lvl 2 and buy the gear with crucible marks. It's the easiest way.
3. Extremely important as they're used to upgrade legendary and exotic gear

Thanks!

Just solo it (provided you're 24+). The only difficult part is the boss. The Weekly Heroic Strike is much easier this week than last week.

Haha, got a bit of Loot Cave bonding in before heading out to work this morning. Bunch of level 25-27 strangers just shooting away. I show up and everybody pauses to wave me in and then continues to pop pop pop and watch those engrams drop drop drop. Good times.

Agreed. I'm rocking a uncommon hunter cloak just because it looks best with my gear. Since they have a level on them, they should have some sort of benefit.

Dude, no way! Maybe this is true with the optional (only occasionally proc'ing) AOE option for the titan melee? Not sure if that does extra damage to the actual punchee, but it appears to in PvE from my experience. I could buy that, but it's not 100% of the time anyway. Edit: Titan melee doesn't even one shot a NORMAL enemy, though, btw. Unless mine is broken?

Now, a shotgun to the face AND a melee? I could buy that.

Don't get me wrong, I totally have killed blade dancers. With, uh, my super. And probably once when one was doing something stupid. And I definitely think they SHOULD kill me one on one without a super to counter it, anyway. I'm just saying that going so far as to say "It's not that bad guys, just don't panic and they're easy to kill" is going way too far. They're not easy to kill, and you almost certainly won't, which should be the case.

well that's the same thing, but you probably meant helm and chest XD

this is so true. people just flip out when they see a bladedancer running at them! it's among the most counterable supers! seriously!

I've had a bladedancer run at me while I unload and run backwards, I jump yet they can homing lunge at me from afar, then go on and resume killing shit before their super ends.

Only they can do that and it's annoying, the moment they pop that super they get mega armor.

That armor can eat a close range shotgun and titan melee easily.

Arc Blade has increased defense in that mode. They can take way more beating than they should.

A rocket, 3 hit fusion rifle, a rifle clip of 75% headshots, didn't kill a blade dancer.

another thing that people don't discuss (because bungie hasn't put out any info for it) is how armor/recovery/agility play into this stuff

a pure speed/regen blade dancer is gonna die to more stuff than the armor/speed one - but the arc blade regen + normal regen is gonna be through the roof for one over the other

and people panic more at the site of a blade dancer than any other super. fact.

Okay I'm going to ask this --- Which is a more effective way of farming? Cave of Wonders or Wakening the Hive? I've done both, the cave one sucked for me, the hive one last time I did it gave me about 3 or 4 legendary engrams.

Just in case this was missed, would really like to know.

Correct. If you want to go back getting Vanguard/Crucible rep, you have to remove the class item.

Ah dang ok. Was hoping that since u dont need to equip anything to get vanguard/crucible rep, you'd still get it even with faction stuff on and thus double up. Guess not. Thanks!

The only way to beat a blade dancer is to slaughter the rest of the team.

I'm surprised nobody has made a fireteam composed of all bladedancers and go into crucible. Or a team of all defenders.

I remember there was this team of healers (sith sorcerers) in The Old Republic who did pvp. They were unstoppable because all they did was cluster together and spammed AoE heals.

I had to buy pretty much everything there, lol. I did get the shotgun/machine gun from drops though.

If you're sick of having bad luck, just take matters into your own hands. Do the vanguard/crucible bounties, do patrol missions and public events, it only takes a few days to get to the point where you can buy equipment, and another few days so you can buy weapons.

I was lvl. 24, hit lvl. on vanguard and crucible, bought a helmet, legs, and arms, then bought my body armor from Xur, and am now lvl. 27. No luck involved.

My current build for reference:

Edit:screenshot was with new gloves, one upgrade from 27.

Truth guys, thanks! I've been a stubborn prick trying to get stuff that nobody else has hoping that endless grinding will magically grant me access to super rare exotics and legendaries. I have had luck in the weapons area with 1-2 legendaries of each type... but SHIT for armor... and thats what matters.

Stuck at mid 25. Need to buy some legendary armor and an exotic this weekend. Boo to wearing the same clothes as all the other Warlocks. lol

Really liking this legendary hand cannon I got from the nightfall strike. It has increased reload speed when the mag is empty and when I survive from near death I get ammo back and it improves my reload speed AND it has an additional mod that increases reload speed. Chain of Who? Now I'm running double knives permanently acting a fool in pvp. Seriously how fast this thing reloads when the mag is empty is hilarious.

Hmmm, first off, no to the point blank shotgun + barrier melee, that's a guaranteed kill. It has happened to me and it feels like shit. Even if the shotgun blast is off, if they're using barrier melee, they still win the fight via the overshield. Titans that see me coming have a very, very significant shot at killing me unless they panic, even without their super (which is an almost guaranteed win instead).

Second, unload with what?

It really isn't mega armor anyway, it's less than Titans get from their Barrier Melee which doesn't even require a super.

Shoulder charge? Should be a OHKO to anyone without an overshield.

They're not even CLOSE to easy to kill. I am sorry if I gave anyone that impression. It's just possible, it happens, and it is more practical than killing a Titan during Fist or inside a Ward, a Sunsinger as I built described way above, or a Void Bombing Warlock (people claim THIS is easy, but I've never done it personally).

It's a super. If you don't have yours, you are very likely to get murdered by it. But it's not unstoppable either.
