PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

just discovered that inFamous Second Son is available for 369 sek ($50/40€).

Has it always been that cheap online?!?

edit: TOTP: Buy all the Wonderboy games that are on sale in EU!

I'll beat you all in Monster Monpiece online.

er maybe. I've never played with another person actually but I think I know what I'm doing...

Are there even people playing it online? Last thing I heard was that the online mode is quasi dead.

I may get it as well, so prepare yourself! :P

It's dead. I tried finding games recently and there's like no one online.

----

Anyone know if the Monpiece servers are region locked? If a bunch of you guys are getting it then I'd love to have people to play against.

No idea...I'm US if someone from the EU wants to test it out tonight (in 7+ hours), psn in profile

Vita games have difficulty maintaining an active online community.

I don't like games with "call of duty" or "battlefield" in the title so I tend to expect nothing I like will have an active online community more than 2 weeks after launch. Was surprised enough I managed to get Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate's online trophies (wasn't that bad, but it would bounce between giving me level 1 and max level people, while I was level 1 myself)

I'm puzzled as to why THAT set you off since the entirety of the game is the most generic RPG of all time and clearly wasn't getting any better

It was worse than generic. It was absolute dreck from start to finish. Badly written, nonsensical, with absolutely no redeeming features. It's painful to read, and I've heard reports that doing so can make your eyes bleed and your brain attempt to escape your body through your ear.

Still, the gameplay is solid and the cardplay original, though the game is too easy overall (it's hard to lose against the AI). MP is solid though, since you're not reliant on enemy AI for a challenge.

Well, the AI is too easy, gameplay seems deep enough. Once you're built up enough the AI is pretty useless, the AI is only dangerous in the first few turns since they often have a Mana advantage and toss out extremely good cards that they somehow always have. Pretty standard "difficulty" in digital TGC design though, lame AI, compensate by giving them better cards.

Well, finally bought Monster Monpiece. Let the rubbing begin!

Really hope we get Minecraft within the next 2 weeks, hopefully is passes the final test.

Good news for the Vita. Not a huge fan of Minecraft though so whenever this drops I'm gonna skip it. Got enough to keep me busy until Shinovi Vs/ Freedom Wars next month.

As I said before I really liked Murasaki baby and with escape plan on sale (EU) I'm thinking of getting it.

Have any of you played both and if so, do you think I would like it based on my new found love for Murasaki baby?

Edit: I have tried the demo and liked it except for the stars rating (the worst thing in games this far IMO). Does the game get too repetitive?

Hello everyone,

any impressions on Frozen Synapse Prime? Heard good things about the PC-Version. Still a bit worried about technical problems... some recent indie-games for the vita had problems with performance or were crashing at times.

Hello, I am looking for a little help.

I have both Pixel Junk and Doki Doki on my PS4 via PS+ I recently got a vita and downloaded the vita counterparts and I can't seem to access my PS4 save data when on the vita. Doki loads my PS4 save fine, but Pixel Junk acts like i've never played it before and wants to start a new game.

Any ideas? Is PJ cross save or do I have to do something to get my save on there.

You have to manually sync Pixeljunk because it does Cross Save in a stupid way, like 90% of cross save titles. Doki Doki Universe is one of exceedingly few who do it right. You have to enable cloud save on both, then upload it on PS4, and then it should auto-download on Vita. FWIW Fez, Hohokum and Entwined are the only other cross save games I've seen that do it in any proper automatic way.

Figured I'd ask in here.

Can the Playstation TV/Vita TV accept physical vita cards? I can't seem to find an answer to that

So I picked up frozen synapse. Damn, they did a great job with it. The touch screen controls are excellent, I don't even need to use joysticks. Zoom in and out, drag the screen, and selecting units is a breeze with touch.

I don't see and AI adjustment, so I think this is on middle of the road difficulty. I don't remember if you had difficulty sliders in campaign for pc. Very accessible to first timers, and really a great prep if you plan on taking your skills online.

The music still rocks, apropos for the setting and missions. I'm thinking they'll release the expansion in the future too, but you will definitely get value here even without it.

lol apparently FIFA 11 Mk. 4 dropped the online modes. EA should be ashamed of themselves for charging $40 for that.

Konami is too stupid to capitalize on this shit show.

got my second Platinum on my account! :D
inFamous First Light

- kinda wish they made a similar spin-off for the Videogame Conduit but I guess his story wouldn't be as interesting

Congrats. I almost wished I picked that up during the sale...but I just can't get over my dislike for Infamous.

inFamous SS is a very pretty game.
in terms of gameplay, overall mechanics, inFamous SS is a definite improvement over its predecessors - it suffers from the same problems though (repetitive side missions to unlock more powers, etc)

inFamous First Light is actually pretty good
it's a short game - so the side missions end before they get boring
the Arena is PERFECT - it takes the best part of inFamous SS/FL and makes it into a meaty chunk of gameplay

just home SP keeps supporting the Arena mode... but lol

Arena mode is great, I kinda hope all Infamous games have it now. Nice bonus for owning the full game too (you can play it with Delsin, though it seems a lot harder with him, Karma bomb isn't nearly as OP, power drains very fast while Fetch goes for days on one charge).

Okay, which one do I play first?
Rorona is the first game story-wise, then Totori and lastly Meruru. But Totori is the least polished/refined of them, so it may be a little jarring going from Rorona to Totori.
I'd say start with Rorona anyway, you will get a better grasp on the characters and events in the series if you do.

Well if you want to play them in order it's Totori Meruru then Rorona. If you are new to the series and don't mind not playing them in order, you should start off with Meruru.

wow, I have been thinking for the longest time that Totori came first. lol

Well it did on the Vita, so I can't blame anyone for believing that. The original Rorona supposedly didn't hold up to Totori and Meruru so they remade the game. Totori Plus and Meruru Plus are ports of the PS3 versions.

Okay, which one do I play first?

As people have said, the story order is Rorona, Totori, Meruru. But if you are getting them for Vita, the release order on the system was Totori, Meruru, Rorona, and Rorona has extra content at the end (middle? somewhere within) that you will only appreciate if you played Totori and Meruru first.

In terms of story, Meruru spoils Totori's story, but apparently Totori doesn't spoil Rorona too badly besides the obvious (I haven't gotten to Rorona yet), so many people recommend to play Totori --> Meruru --> Rorona to get the most out of all content. That's how I did it and I'm happy so far, but storyline order would likely work too, you would just miss out on the nods to the other two added in Rorona plus.

Edit: Yeesh, a lot of RoronaTotoriMeruru in there, sorry if it got confusing. No real other way to word it though.
