I solo'd the Servitor waves and got past the Vex / Minotaurs no problem, but then died due to a stupid mistake when on my way to the boss.
I'm a Lv. 28 Sunsinger Warlock with self-revive and a Legendary Solar Fusion Rifle that pretty much decimates any single target. I'm on right now.

I am loving this game. Finished the campaign which was ok, but now I'm at level 20 there seems loads to do. Granted, it all revolves around shooting things, but when the combat is this good - fine by me. I imagine I'll get burnt out eventually, but I'm taking my time and really enjoying it.
I just wish there was matchmaking in the daily and weekly events. Annoying.

Christ... i have YET to receive a single exotic bounty and i do them almost every single day. I don't get it.

Lol. It's cool Destiny has dots, but no hots as far as I know. Destiny might end up getting its own jargon as time passes, especially when people begin discovering good specs for Guardians.
Also, I dunno if Guild Wars 2 got better with its dungeons (never raided in GW2), but I think Destiny so far does a good job at not requiring the holy trinity, better than GW2 did IMO.
Seems like a waste to make those animations and use them only for one mission.

Have Bungie actually said anything about improving the server situation yet? I mean I saw the patch for farming but I've not heard them say anything at all about the lag, and as for the connection errors the only thing I've found was about colleges having trouble connecting.
Fuck Bungie. Made the nightfall strike so hard yet it gives shit rewards. Should guarantee an exotic at least.
I got a cool exotic sniper rifle. Generally, the worst reward you can get are strange coins. That's not that bad. Plus all of the bonus XP.

Unless I have been misinformed, Dust Palace does have higher drop rates for those items, it's just not exclusive to the Strike.
I haven't heard of anyone actually acquiring a Monte Carlo or Hawkmoon from Dust Palace. Can you point me to someone who has? All I've heard was people that assumed that was the case because that's what we were led to believe. And that was mostly at launch. To my knowledge, no one has had an exotic drop in any strike that isn't the Nightfall. No legendaries either, from rewards. Just the standard mob drop chance for that. To my knowledge, exotics come from five sources: Crucible, Legendary Engrams, Nightfall, Xur and Exotic Bounties. Six I suppose, if you count exotic engrams, but I lump those in with Xur.
No, if I get a drop that has as low a drop chance as a legendary engram, regardless of what that drop actually is, I expect it to be worthy of that low drop rate.
By playing the actually semi-fun loot game. It's not "working toward it" in the sense of an exotic bounty, but you still know it can drop and that you will actually get something decent when you get a rare drop. You still get something worthy of that rarity, even if it's not as good as it could be.
It's more that if those drops are always legendaries, you're getting SOMETHING that's remotely decent. It may not be what you want, but you're actually given hope in getting that, and you got something anyway. Not a blue that's literally worthless because you already have 500-600 sapphire wire and capped glimmer 20 times over.
Destiny doesn't make me want to try again. At all. Almost everything decent I have was bought, and the other ways to get those things are "You have to come back next week because we like timers" or a really, really, really unsatisfying and draining drop system.
Getting a shitty legendary is better than getting no legendary, if only because of the psychological effect of "Well I got one legendary, maybe I can get the one I actually want next time!"
The main thing to me is they sold the endgame as something different. And we had no reason to believe otherwise. I knew what I was getting into for the main game because of the alpha and beta, but the endgame isn't a loot game. Nor is it a system where you can get exotics worthy of showing off and aspiring to obtain. It's just praying to the RNG that you don't get something worthless. Not even that you get something good. Just that you don't get literally trash.
I think I'm "losing you" because I'm making multiple points that I think would be better, not one point specifically. I'm also treating exotics and legendaries separately. "Working towards" in my words is different between the two in terms of loot. You could still "work toward" a perfect legendary with 100% luck, by getting infrequent actual legendary drops and slowly getting closer to what you want. Meanwhile you could "work toward" an exotic exclusive to a strike or game mode by actively playing in that mode. These are both things that would be vast improvements over the existing system.
On the side, there would still be the existing mark system which allows you to directly earn these items that are set in stone. You may, however, want one of these same items with a different set of modifiers, and that's where the random loot would come in.
And I feel like I sound like I hate the game, but I don't. The endgame was simply described in numerous ways that were not this. The endgame feels, to me, like it's designed to just say "Come again next week instead of actually playing right now." And how that can be satisfying to anyone confuses me.
I understand if my ideas or points are confusing due to overlap or lack of clarification. I'm just kind of saying things like I would in a conversation. These posts are also becoming much larger than intended lol. I would probably be better off doing this like a proper suggestion post, but that's unlikely to go anywhere... It would, at least, make more sense, though.
