Just got a Legendary AR called Doctor Nope. Is it good? I'm talking mostly PVP here as I don't really use ARs in PVE. It's ROF looks insane with practically no impact but after messing around with the highly regarded Galahad/Cydonia and mostly hating them I'm still looking for the best PVP AR.

The former fired wayyyyy too slow and the other had ridiculous recoil to match it's ROF that did jack shit. I keep returning to my Shingen-C, which I've used since like level 12. It's pretty boring but using any other AR is like purposely handicapping myself.

Doctor Nope is practically a Sahara. It has by far the worst recoil of any gun. I think you have the Cydonia and Galahad mixed up, though. Cydonia does not have ridiculous recoil or a high rate of fire.

If you do alot of PVP, eventually you'll get a Silvered Huswind-D. Aside from that, there's a better legendary sold by the vanguard guy I think, but you need Rank 3 for it. Otherwise Suros Regime if you are lucky enough to get it.

The group I went with did something different. I'm not sure I recommend it, but it worked for us because the leader didn't really want to use the standing on the top strategy. The idea is to kill minotaurs from the top as much as possible, but have one person watching your back for the minotaur behind you. When he comes, everyone jump down. As soon as you jump down, you can do kind of U-turn to your right. Unless you're with someone who has done this before, it's hard to see, but there's a cave you can get to by jumping on some rocks where nothing can hit you as long as you're all the way in the back of the cave, but you can peek out and shoot stuff. You'll have to deal with adds, but the way you deal with them is by ignoring them. Just make sure 2 people are ALWAYS in the back of the cave, and only one person goes up to the front to revive the person attacking. Then just swap out roles when one person runs out of ammo. It took us about 20 minutes and probably 4 ammo synthesis each, but we were never in much danger.

The main reason I don't recommend this is because if you don't find the cave quickly enough, you'll just get killed on the floor. If you decide to try again going the top route, I suggest having everyone switch to void fusion rifles or some kind of void damage weapon for the minotaur. A blast of a strong void fusion rifle will knock out his shield instantly. Void grenades work too.

That said, anyone who says this one is easy is balls crazy. The reaver captain in the 3 servitors room is ridiculous, as is the large vex room with the hobgoblins and minotaurs right before the final boss. You can try running through that last area, but 2 of the 4 times I've tried this it was a wipe, so really your best bet is to kill all of it, and those minotaurs are fucking crazy.

That would probably work. We were a two person team, with me in the hole, and the other guy was out killing adds abd trying to get the boss to turn around. When he died, the amount of fire focused on the hole was so steady I couldn't get a shot off. We did get a third to join and revive, but a new wave started and we wiped soon after.

I am the same, no sense of direction lol.

I got lucky in the strikes, only had to do it 4 or 5 times, didn't know how to find the walker place in patrol.
I found it via way that I've never been before. Sparrowing round to Forgotten Shores, continuing along the coastline until I come to a place called the Grottos (be warned mobs here are level 20). Through these caves and you come out in the area that you have to defend the ghost in the strike (the section that the shanks come out of, on the left as you look from where you defend), then just run through the last few tunnels.

There's probably a much shorter route though.

You don't need to get the boss to turn around. His shield rotates on its own. But yea, if you're going to do the hole, everybody needs to be in the hole for revives. New waves of adds will spawn, but you just have to take it slow. When the ground starts shaking it means the boss is shooting at the hole. Takes about 30 seconds before he passes on, but he'll just keep rotating and eventually stop shooting.

Fastest way for me is to head to the right after you spawn in for patrol and head to the indoor area where Rhaksis is. Go through there and you'll be in an open outdoor area where a walker public event can occur. Past that area is the Rocketyards, which is where you spawn in when you select the strike. Everything between the patrol spawn and the Rocketyards is under level 10, so it's easy to just Sparrow/run past everything.

I guess what gets me most disappointed is that I really felt like the game was going to be 'bigger' than it turned out to be.

When I saw the concept art during the GDC video, and yes I know it was never confirmed stuff for the game and just simply concept art, my mind went crazy thinking of the areas to explore.

When you take those images and combine it with the dialogue coming from Bungie in their vidocs, it was hard not to get really excited for something big.

I had visions of landing in a huge open world, where you could go anywhere and explore. You could find random structures off in the distance. On your way over to a big, distant structure, you would encounter random batches of enemies. Maybe you would be blocked by a powerful enemy, and just before he kills you, another random more powerful player snipes him dead from off in the distance. This allows you to continue to the structure while the other guardian goes off on his way, and you think to yourself 'wow, what a legend that guy is' I started thinking this 'become legend' rhetoric was legit.

Yes, these kind of moments can happen in the game now, but on a much smaller scale. The public events are really nothing challenging, nor are they interesting. It's cool to see random guys get all worked up and come together, but the activity itself is never really satisfying.

But what really got me down was that these destinations funnel you in limited directions. When you land in a destination, you land in the same spot every time. You know exactly how many enemies will be to your right and to your left. It's the same setup every time.

Plus, and I don't mean this in a literal sense, but your options in explore mode are basically go left or right. You can't go up because you'll hit a wall. You can't go down because you'll fall off a cliff and die. If you happen to work your way around these obstacles, you'll be met with a 'turn back' notification. I can't help but think of the e3 video where the guy said 'See all this? All of this....is playable space' and there were plenty of moments were I just wanted to speed off to areas off in the distance only to hit an invisible barrier. I know you can't build worlds that go on forever, but man there are plenty of times were I just think to myself 'ugh, thats so lame' while exploring. There's also very few interesting areas hidden away. All you really get are a few caves tucked away that spawn enemies that also contain the occasional loot chest. And the structure and depth of these caves are exactly the same every time; it's total cut and paste. Beyond that, there really aren't many spots you'll get excited about discovering.

While I understand you don't just move left or right in explore mode, the idea is there are only so many places you can go. Plus, the game is basically telling you where to go anyway. Head left to pick up these missions, head right to pick up these other missions. You never really have the choice of going anywhere you want or the freedom to discover something for yourself.

My hope was that you could find tons of cool things to explore. Maybe you'll find a sweet chest in the basement of a distant structure, one that will reward a sweet gun hardly anyone else has. They'll ask you, where the heck did you find that? And your answer won't be that simple. What you discover in the actual game, though, is quite easily explained, since there rarely is a secret path to take.

It sounded so big in the beginning. There was going to be this huge, vibrant world where tons of crazy, random, and exciting things could happen. So much to see and discover. So many things that keep you coming back again and again. Instead, we already know the whole experience. You know exactly what Old Russia is. And unfortunately, the only time you'll get to see just a sliver more of it is when those 'DLC doors' open up at a later date.

I could go on and talk about the story (what story) and pvp and all that, but it's all been discussed already.

Very good post. I feel the same way. I set aside hours and hours of game time thinking I wouldn't have time to play anything else but Destiny for the rest of the year. Don't get me wrong, I still love the game and play PVP/Strikes a lot. I also love getting loot. It's just the story, it really seems like it's just a prologue to something bigger and not an entry in the series itself. The lore builds up a big story but the first game barely scratches the surface.

RNGesus had bad day or something.

First time this happens to me on PVP.

Killed four walkers tonight but my bounty was stuck on 2/3. I got 3/3 public events, so they were definitely legit kills. Annoying. Also keep getting error code bee.

Arc damage on the captain's shield takes it down super quick. I brought solar sniper, arc MG, which seemed to work well. Switched out MG for a launcher when we got to the boss. I've been reading about this cave, but my instincts were pretty much what you said, if we don't find it in time we're fucked. I don't really need to do the strike again but I would prefer to stay up top if so.

I was hitting the captain with arc rockets and it wasn't doing shit. I hate that fucking captain. I'mjust glad I'm done with it. Still need the weekly, but at least it's not nightfall.

I was really happy to see what the queens special event will be like but now I am hugely disappointed by it. I mean I expected to atleast to speak with her....instead a fucking peon gives me stuff.

MG cut him down quick. Did Nightfall first and after that the weekly at 28 seemed like a cake walk.

Anyone on psn gracious enough to help me on these queen bounty quests, I see people online but they are 'in orbit' I don't want them to come back to their couch and find my ship just lurking in their party

My brother can't play destiny for a few weeks and i said I'd play for him to get him equipment he said sure.

I was going to do loot cave, but now with this queen's quests...

he level 20, can he go straight to queen quest and get legendarys if he gets run through the queen's wrath? I heard something about a lvl 23-24+ requirement?

Not really a requirement. The missions are just set at level 24 and they may be heroic? I don't remember.

I have to say, this week's Nightfall is pretty easy, especially with full fireteam. Getting to the boss was more of a hassle. Got "The Calming" legendary fusion rifle as the reward
.
We've been getting wrecked. Even with powerfull solar heavys, the minators blink in too fast and their health/shields go down too slow.

I did this earlier today for the 9 strange coins of the weekly strike.

Tried soloing nightfall after that and got through it just as fast. Even faster through the final boss. 12 ascendant shards as my reward.

Getting home today in 2 hours ish. Gonna do me some bounties.

OH Sweet Jesus! Gimme dat exp! Then I guess I might farm earth mission queen bounty for exp for my guns. Does mission exp apply to weapons actually?

Wish I could level up my weapons by sitting next to cave.

Get up off on that cave sit down and gain exp!

Can anyone tell me where on Cosmodrome the Fallen Tank Walker thing spawns? Need to kill 3 of them for the Queen's Bounty!
Public event or Devil's lair.

Go with Devil's lair. Public event is random and the amount of time you'll spent waiting for it to happen you can already have beaten Devil's lair twice.

I am level 23. Doing the weekly heroic into the nexus by myself. I am at the boss. This part seems tough alone. If anyone wants to join in happy to have you join my fire team.
