The Hive cave I get, but ascendant materials from Queen's Wrath gear? What the fuck?!?!

Farmers are fucking over legitimate players now with the hard wipe reducing engram drops too.

How would an opt-out work when I'm in a party? Would I have to opt-in whenever I want to chat with a party in-game?

Hmm, good point. Maybe three options, All Game, Fireteam only, and None?

Normally I would say that is what the OS level party chat is for, but the in game chat adds so much depth to what is going on that it would be a shame to forgo it.

Definitely a perspective I hadn't considered.

I guess I'm not really sure how having the switch start in the on or off position really makes a difference regarding that kind of issue. If you want to participate in voice chat you'll turn it on or leave it on and talk to people, if you don't want to participate (because people are jerks or any reason) you don't talk or can switch it off all the way. How does that choice starting off in either direction affect the amount of people that might be jerks, considering that in either way you'll still be talking to potential randoms?

This is presuming there's an option in the menu that is "voice chat in matchmaking?"

Why would you want me to have to mute everyone or opt-out before every game (or opt-in when I'm with parties)? That's putting a huge hassle on me.

Honestly, reduced engram drops is a good thing if purple engrams actually only gave out purple loot or higher.

Problem is that the randomness they added was not in any way "for the better" it was 100% for the worst. The end of session engram decrypting did not become exciting it because infuriating. This is Bungie trying to push a positive spin on something everyone can see is wrong. I'm sure their fix, from the sounds of it, is not going to be change the randomness but better show the percentage to players of what they might get.

That wouldn't fix the problem they are describing at all.

They'll likely split engrams between "grab bag" (which should no longer use the color-coordinated assets) and the current ones which probably won't be able to roll down (and thus be rarer than currently).

players who just started playing have a much easier route to 26 than players who started playing at launch because of the Queen's Wrath event.

True but then again people who were playing and farmed have the chance of upgrading most of their gear, weapons and god knows what they managed to gain by farming. I think before fixing where people farm, they should fix their drops especially in Daily/Weekly strikes and Vanguard playlists as a whole. Not once have I seen even a green drop from killing a boss. It's always a triangle of nothing and some glimmer which I should mention has a cap at 25,000 and nothing worthy in the tower to spend it on.

SMH, what they did is just force the grindy nature of this game even more, to everyone.

The fact legendaries you buy from factions also drop in the world, bothers me. There should be an entirely separate loot table. There simply isn't enough loot variety in this game.

My goodness. Just skimming over the amount of salt in this thread is raising my blood pressure.

To those that are 'quitting' because of the nerf to cave farming, don't let the door knob hit you. If you actually take the time to read the blog, they are on top of a good number of issues that have been raised about the game.

Is this not fixing the root issue of why some of you were farming that cave to begin with? Instead of shooting at a black circle for hours, why not run around areas where there is an abundance of:

  • Chests
  • Patrols
  • Public Events
  • Materials
Such as: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7p9MLSRyTw

That way you have chances to get loot, get materials, special items to sell, and raise your reputation.

Have they fixed any of those issues yet?

No?

Okay, then people have every right to complain.

Scouts just aren't hitting hard enough today when compared to other precision weapons. We'll be addressing this soon.
Amazing. Scout rifle is already my favorite in PVP. Awesome it's getting a buff and ARs are getting nerfed.

I already feel like party chat is superior to game chat on PS4. At least you can prioritize party. Using the in-game chat I can't hear anyone when I'm firing my weapon.

true but I love the effect in game chat has. Echos in caves and radio static when they are far away.

Well, if it's within the design parameters of a game, then I agree, but obviously Bungie doesn't want people to farm the cave.

Different games offer different gameplay experiences – that's why we have different games. Playing the game in a way that's antithetical to, say, what the developer intended isn't playing the game you want, it's playing an altogether different game.

I guess I'm the fool when Bungie told me I can become Legend how I wanted, that I can explore this world and do anything. Shame on me I guess.

Well no more fun. Back to the...

Did they really expect people to keep multiple copies of the same queen's helm and chest? Anyone could've seen the ascendant farming from a mile away.

It seems clear they saw it as a way for sub-24s to get to raid level in various different ways depending on what they liked to do. I don't think they designed it to have people doing every single one every single day.

In fact, I'd say all bounties were designed to be offered to different play styles, not as a menu of stuff to be zonked through every day. I think they definitely do not want people to play this game 10 hours a day. They want many types of people to have something interesting to do for 3 hours a day.

Also, they definitely don't want people at level 30 in October. At all.

Fireteam only seems like a nice compromise, but as it is I have no complaints.

I already get harassed online; please spare me getting harassed while I'm trying to game and relax.

It would be cool if the same upset 2 or 3 people would just stop bitching so much. It's cluttering the thread, and serves no purpose after your first post of complaints. I'll go back to happily lurking now, as I am sure thousands of other Guardians are. Stay salty.

OT6 is coming in two weeks. I'm calling it now.

In other news, I should work more on my fanfic. The first chapter still has a long way to go and a lot more for me to add before it's finished. I'm only at the second scene! D:

Also, I'm going to preemptively ask that Xur calm his ass down and stick around for a few more days so I can grind for more coins.

I agree, the loot fix should've went hand in hand with the cave nerf. Now I'm hesitant to load up the game until they fix the loot system.

My interest in playing Destiny is also at an all-time low. You can't announce these sorts of changes and expect me to still pointlessly grind like an idiot in the mean time when I know I would actually be able to get something for that grinding in the future.

Just thinking about decrypting all those purple shitgrams that gave me blues and greens annoys the shit out of me. If I was a hoarding weirdo I could be reaping that shit in whenever Bungie deems worthy for the upcoming loot patch to drop.

I just go back to orbit whenever one of those maps comes up lol. So done with those shit maps

yeah i kind of wish they had a separate "big map" playlist. i think that might have been what that temporary vehicle playlist was?

hate these maps too...although you're part of the problem why i hate lol played so many games where people would drop a few minutes in and the rest of the time you play 3 v 6 and the games take so incredibly long to finish.

vicious cycle!

that's strange, I almost always get loot during a Strike, after a Strike, and the Crucible

also, all of the missions that say upgrade armor on them give you something, too

The Strike Missions only gave me Uncommons and some Rares worse than mine. The only good thing I got from the Crucible was a Hand Cannon in 25 games. This is Diablo 3 Vanilla again.

Hmmm, guess that Vanquisher VIII I just grinded for might not be so great soon...don't mind them (ARs) being nerfed, but not to happy I blew 150 marks.
