"Ok guys, clearly we've made some mistakes here if people would rather sit in this spot for hours for loot instead of playing our game. What does that mean? Is the game too stingy with loot? (Legendary engrams not turning into legendaries) Is the content not diverse enough? (New events just being slightly modified versions
of old content) Is it the lack of communication and social encouragement if the game? Is it a combination of all three? We need to address this if this small exploit is the preferred way to play."

Instead they said "lol oh you guys (kills cave)".

Well they also thought that story was okay so I don't know what BuNgie is doing.

If the missions aren't fun then why grind for the gear needed to play more missions?

If the gear is for PvP instead of missions, why not just play PvP and acquire gear that way?

Honestly trying to understand a phenomena I've seen in several loot based games. For the most efficient loot farmers the games themselves are always considered boring grinds, but people will go to great lengths to circumvent or rush past the game's challenges and obstacles in order to get the gear when that gear only exists to tackle the game's challenges and obstacles.
Frequency of drops and the incentive to upgrade Cryptarch rank for legendary engrams. I don't mind dailies, weeklies, and nightfalls because rewards are guaranteed. I haven't completed the raid, either. The problem is everything in between.
With how vague they left their post, I am more likely to believe they are going to communicate how much of a chance engrams have of turning into different quality items rather than "fix" the Cryptarch.
This is 100% it. They aren't trying to make their game better, just clearer about how poorly designed it is.

The specifically said they're adjusting the Crypto AND increasing rewards for Strikes. These take more time to tune properly than it does to nerf the cave. They don't want to just put in some random higher number on these systems and push it to live and end up having it break the game by rewarding too much. They have to tweak and test internally first.

Just got dropped on a strike mission when we had the final boss at 1/4 health. Missing out is one thing but using all my heavy weapon ammo packs for basically nothing just pisses me off

That sucks, man. Sorry to hear. I was just in a mission cut-scene, so not really a big deal. I gave up trying to reconnect. Gonna eat and maybe try later.

Well said.

Is there any point to leveling Vanguard/Crucible past level 3 or switching to a new faction and leveling it to 3?

Trying to figure out if I should even bother with bounties and/or try and level a different faction.

Destiny is being kind of unstable. Tried to dismantle something and didn't get the materials icon to show up. Reputation and rewards were also lagging behind after a match. This is on top of a couple disconnections.

Personally I wouldnt bother leveling past three for now if you feel that the other factions offer rewards you want to purchase. Currently the game has no content faction/vangaurd wise that requires a rank above 3 to purchase.

It's not just about having the best gear in the game. If stuff starts dropping from the skies in large amounts, then people will have an excess of everything and the progression time-table is shattered.

You may not like that you have to spend time to earn rewards but that's how this game is designed to be. So you can either adjust to it or move on to a new game.
The issue is there is no real "rewards". Very few of the items in this game do anything significant other than have a few slightly higher numbers. Again, I've played for something like 90 hours. I feel like I've obtained nothing of interest this entire time. I'm not complaining because I wanted to farm my way to a set of legendary equipment - I'm past that point. It's more the principle of spending time further constricting players instead of enabling them.

Each new level after 3 you receive Legendary gears.

I feel they are going to drop the name Legendary enegram and just call it an unknown enegram.

Maybe all these changes are Bungie's plan to try and 'urge' more people towards playing the steaming cauldron of shit that is the Crucible...

Make PvE grind so unbearable, that even the Crucible seems like a good alternative.

hehe.
I laugh because it's true.

Iron Banner is gonna be one scary event.

I wonder how much Titans will dominate this event.

It has been a goal of mine since the beginning to gear up for this event. I too worry about titans being powerhouses. I am a Hunter as well. I have been using fast recovery and increased armor in the tree instead of agility. It seems like it takes people by surprise in the crucible. They sometimes seem to think I should be dead before I am and leave the job unfinished. Could be my imagination though. I'm wondering if I should level a Titan for it, I had planned on it but wanted to max my Hunter first.

Bungie can go to town with the auto rifle and shotgun nerfs as far as I'm concerned. Both are super obnoxious in MP.

This so much and so hard. When I run into another player in the crucible with a Hand Cannon I like to pretend we're in the wild west and having an old fashioned shootout.

Then I stick him with a magnetic grenade or get AR'd in the back.

Any half decent Fusion Rifle player keeps spamming right trigger so charge stays up.

Any half decent Fusion Rifle player keeps spamming right trigger so charge stays up so they gets instant shot off when enemy comes into sight and OHK him before he can react.

Or just get one with super low charge time and you are good to go.

You can't keep a fusion rifle primed like that. Each time you let go, the next press still requires the full charge time.

This... is a possibility, yes.

I like how the auto rifle feels right now, while it's very true that it dominates too much. Instead of making the auto rifle more frustrating to use by nerfing it, they should buff the weapons that are lagging behind.

It will take more effort to modify multiple weapon types vs the one weapon type, but they need to focus on making things more fun, not less fun. If I pull out my AR and suddenly it has half the range, I'm going to be pissed. But if I pull out my hand cannon and realize that it now has better accuracy and can actually challenge an AR, I'm happy.

Due to work, wife and just wanting to jump in to play..

I still don't know what I am doing.

Having fun but so lost, sort of... I really need to just sit down and read some guides/tips..

AFAIK you get a legendary weapon mailed to you with every rank increase after 2.

I love using my Bladedancer hunter but I am thinking about going Striker Titan. How do they normally play in PVP? I feel like the swiftness of the Hunter is my favorite thing.

I hope Xur has Sunbreakers again this weekend. I just need one more strange coin to afford an Exotic armor and my gauntlets are the only thing still blue.

I think reducing TTK will help PvP much more than increasing it.

Was dropped a few times, when I got in the last time, there was a message about the world about to reboot and to expect connection issues. Then it dropped me.

For as much shit as EA/DICE deserve, they are really good about buffing other weapons rather than nerfing one particular gun.
