Destiny |OT5| New patch out Tues., Master Rahool reportedly crying into his robes

I really think Destiny needs this. Destiny needs randomly generated playspsced for content. Here's what they should do.

On Planets:
See those grand vistas you see out on the planets that are just instant death? Open them up. Make them randomly generated land that stretches on forever. How do you limit travel? Spawn harder enemies the farther you get from the actual normal locations. That way you turn that wide open space as a great challenge for friends. Just how far in the No-Man's lands can you survive? Perhaps create special loot for it.

In the Reef:
The Reef is a ship graveyard. That could mean there is special resources and loot there. Allow players to enter the Reef and randomly enter randomly generated derelict ships in search of this loot. Have the different alien factions also looking for this loot. Maybe you can earn faction rep by recovering special items for faction leaders. Maybe you can save survivors in the Reef trapped in stasis?

What do you guys think?

purple black and gold

i got the quantum phoenix cape yesterday and they match up really good with what i have

that being said... the class items being level 2 is bullocks

I just want a primary white, with secondary green, but it doesn't seem to be in the game.

It absolutely boggles my mind that anyone thinks sitting in front of a cave entrance farming re-spawning enemies is fun.
It's not that it's fun, it's boring, did my most talking to strangers there though oddly, but I mean come on, bosses don't even drop loot, what are players suppose to do? I mean you get that +200 glimmer from bosses but that's it.

I think people would not be as angry if the closing of the cave meant an adjustment to the RNG

Getting nothing from dismantling Queen's gear is ridiculous, it could've been reduced to just 1 if they wanted to curb the influx of materials. 0 just gives me zero incentive to run that content.

I can totally see why they've removed the cave, but everyone resorting to that really is an indication of flaws in the rest of the game highlighted in many of the above posts.

Since patches seem to be fairly frequent I'm hoping that things will balance out nicely in the near future or there's no chance I'm sticking around for even 1 of their planned 10 years.

The crappy part is that I was actually kind of enjoying Queen's Wrath. It was the same stuff, but the missions (to me) were challenging and made me feel like I'd earned my rewards.

Now after two days of grinding out bounties and missions, since I only broke down some of the armor pcs I got, my rewards were just diminished. I feel like the big kid just stole my ice cream.

Disappointing.

If the missions aren't fun then why grind for the gear needed to play more missions?

If the gear is for PvP instead of missions, why not just play PvP and acquire gear that way?

Honestly trying to understand a phenomena I've seen in several loot based games. For the most efficient loot farmers the games themselves are always considered boring grinds, but people will go to great lengths to circumvent or rush past the game's challenges and obstacles in order to get the gear when that gear only exists to tackle the game's challenges and obstacles.

In this game specifically getting loot does lets you access the raid, which by all accounts is the best and most interesting piece of content the game has to offer and is fairly unique compared to the rest of the game. So it is somewhat reasonable for someone who finds the Strikes boring to try and find the most efficient method to bypass that to get to the raid.

With how vague they left their post, I am more likely to believe they are going to communicate how much of a chance engrams have of turning into different quality items rather than "fix" the Cryptarch.
I'm expecting engrams to stop being tied to loot tier colours.

You can't keep a fusion rifle primed like that. Each time you let go, the next press still requires the full charge time.
You can't keep it charged, but if you keep doing a partial charge and have reasonable reactions you can cut down the charge significantly a good portion of the time.

i've always wondered if winter's run, the strike, was meant to be tied to the queen's storyline directly.

meh

Why cant drops be simple. The harder the mission the bigger chance to get rare drops. As far as the cave goes people were farming engrams because you could turn in hundreds before getting anything not worth deleting.

Servers won't let me connect at all right now.

Guess I'll try again in an hour or so...

Bungie right now...

Now a nice item dropped infront of me only for the game to DC right before I could nab it. This is just sick at this point. haha

Dropped server 4 times on XB1 in the past 10 minutes. Reset XB1, router and all that jazz.

This is the loot cave taking its revenge.

I hope Xur has Sunbreakers again this weekend. I just need one more strange coin to afford an Exotic armor and my gauntlets are the only thing still blue.

I will fucking brain him right in the middle of the tower if he has these again. I feel your pain, but good god no more Sunbreakers.

Whatever they do, they are not likely "fixing" the Cryptarch. The added randomness was the worst thing they did, and then trying to spin it as if it was a stroke of brilliance is just rubbing salt into a wound.

Are you serious? I've never asked Microsoft to refund a digital title before but I seriously want to for this. 90 bucks I could use for just about anything.

Yes I heard some other success stories of people who asked MS in a previous thread. I doubted Sony would refund me but as a one time gesture they did.

60 Dollars I can spend on a game that feels worth my time.

Decided to play crustable now that The Cave and Queens Wrath is a bust for my easy shards. I swear all I see is Hunters with shotguns anymore.

Serious here, where's the patch note about fixing that broken ass super? 1 hit kills, 3rd person so you can see everyone around you, the speed, and an almost unbeatable shield? I'm so close to 28 with my Titan, I refuse to make a Hunter but man do they love to tempt me. Getting sick and tired of getting the same shaders over and over again too. They should break down into something...

Also, Disconnects all day like a MO-FO.

What do you guys think?

You're hired.

Your first part was kinda supposed be Destiny, instead we got what we got.
The second part sounds good, but we do not want too much loot out there... at least not until the expansion pack is ready for sale.

Is there any point to leveling Vanguard/Crucible past level 3 or switching to a new faction and leveling it to 3?

Trying to figure out if I should even bother with bounties and/or try and level a different faction.

Every time you level up a faction past 2 (i.e. 3 and up) you get Legendary items (or upgrade materials).

If they said

"Ok guys, clearly we've made some mistakes here if people would rather sit in this spot for hours for loot instead of playing our game. What does that mean? Is the game too stingy with loot? (Legendary engrams not turning into legendaries) Is the content not diverse enough? (New events just being slightly modified versions
of old content) Is it the lack of communication and social encouragement if the game? Is it a combination of all three? We need to address this if this small exploit is the preferred way to play."

Instead they said "lol oh you guys (kills cave)".

what?

you want a written apology?

Just axe the Iron Banner shit and make the Destiny equivalent of the Gold Saucer casino.

Or just give the Tower more stuff to do with other people that have zero to do with the core game. The Loot Cave was one of the more relaxed social experiences I've had in Destiny in all my time with it; I was just killing time with some randoms that I would have normally not had the chance to hang with. If there were other ways to take a break from Strikes/Dailies and Crucible but still hang out with randoms and maybe meet some new people, I'd be down and it could make the Tower feel more alive and not just an empty hub of merchants.

The issue is there is no real "rewards". Very few of the items in this game do anything significant other than have a few slightly higher numbers. Again, I've played for something like 90 hours. I feel like I've obtained nothing of interest this entire time. I'm not complaining because I wanted to farm my way to a set of legendary equipment - I'm past that point. It's more the principle of spending time further constricting players instead of enabling them.

What you're discussing in this post has almost nothing to do with the previous post you made. So you don't find the gear interesting enough. Ok. What does that have to do with Bungie not adjusting the Strikes and Crypto at the same time that the nerfed the Cave.

Fixing that cave doesn't "constrict" players. The cave was not a gameplay feature or mode. It wasn't a mission. It's literally just the spawn point of enemies that are supposed to path to another spot to populate the open world. Farming those spawned enemies is intended.. but farming them IN their spawn point for hours at a time was clearly not intended.

But beyond even that.. there's also the precedent that it was setting. People were talking about the cave as if it gave a higher chance at getting gear. It didn't. It had the same odds as anywhere else in the game. But because a few people got good rolls from it, the idea that the cave was the best place ever for your odds was making people think that THAT is what they should do. "Don't bother playing the other parts of the game. All you have to do is stand in front of this cave shooting for 4 hours." It was poisoning the well for other players pretty badly.
