PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

Lol exactly how I felt when I saw the announcement

I understand the sentiment, that is why I didn't buy OlliOilli at first. I have no interest in skateboarding besides playing Tony Hawk 2 on GBA for like 2 hours as a kid. But OlliOlli is really only a skateboarding game as a theme, it is really just a combo driven arcade style game. Hard to describe exactly what I mean, but really it ends up being the gameplay that is really satisfying and the way the game accomplishes it that is good. It could be a rayman autorunner game and have almost the same controls/gameplay and work just as well.

I dunno, I wasn't going to give the first game a chance because I had no interest in skateboarding games, but I am glad I did and I cannot wait for the next one. But I understand where you and chilly are coming from, I was there with you before I tried it.

Fake TotP: Buy OlliOlli lol

If I remember correctly, VLR is fully voiced

Except for the protagonist. It still uses beeps for him, but I don't recall them being as intrusive as 999's were.

Only in story segments, puzzles aren't.

Cool. Thanks for the response. I'm on my first play through of 999 after Danganronpa, and the story is dropping bombs. I look forward to the divergences the story takes. I've mostly been making choices that fit the main character so far, wondering if there is a way to go rogue at all...

It's been a good while since I played it (Where's VLR3 :'( ), so I didn't remember very well. I do remember liking the voice cast, hence me thinking it was fully voiced. Partly voiced was the correct answer :P

Hey guys, wondering something, and it bug me since the PS3. Iv just got a PS4, and i try to download, update, games, demo on it. But my download speed is like 1MB second when i use wireless, and its at my full ISP speed at 4MB second when its wired.

Why?? Is there something i should configure when doing wireless? Its not my router ( well i think ) because im doing a speed test with my laptop, and im at full speed. But with my PS4 and in the past with the PS3, well its slow like hell....

I hate tamahotchis. No human being can properly take care of those little monsters I swear. Go to see a long movie? It hates you. Go away for the weekend? Dead. Ugh.

The only time I ever successfully took care of one was when my mom took it away from me for a few days as a punishment for doing some random bad kid type thing. She felt too bad to just let it die so she took care of it. Turns out she was infinitely better at it than me, and it was like some awesome final form. My mom didn't work when I was a kid, so I guess the only way to properly raise a tamagotchi is to be a housewife hah
or stay at home dad, which sounds like an awesome job
.

This is pretty much true, and I've actually sold a lot of people on OlliOlli who don't care about skateboarding (or even sports).

  • When you say download speed, do you mean the result that comes up when you check your connection or your actual throughput?
  • How far is your PS4 from the router?
  • Have you tried changing the channel your router broadcasts on? (and/or have you used a wifi-sniffing app on your phone or PC to see what channels around you are "clogged" by other routers/devices?)

End of page recomendation: buy Frozen Synapse:Prime (it have 13 ratings on the EU PSN and that is just sad/wrong)!

I just made it 14 :)

the game is great but it seems like it's been left to die a little bit. No reviews from anyone, and online is already sparsely populated. Hell the official website doesn't even mention the remake. please support it vitagaf!

hopefully there'll be a word of mouth thing going on.

Maybe you, me and the 12 other ppl are the only ones that want more complex games on our Vitas :|

so we'll probably get news on PSPlus games tomorrow right?

We may not get word until the first week in October, since the PS+ games won't be up until October 8/9 (silly US still being in September this Tuesday). They've been giving word a little under a week before the games come out lately, so I wouldn't be surprised if they waited till October 2nd or 3rd to post them.

Ah man :(; was hoping they would be updated next Tuesday (as next month practically starts at that point....).

At least we will know the PS+ games for next month some time next week :D.

Hoping for some cool indie games or a retail Vita game to land on PS+ (I wonder....what PS Vita retail game could work; maybe Dragnarompa 1 (due to the second one coming out so recently) or Batman Arkam Origins Black Gate (due to it being on sale a month or so back; PSN tends to put sale games on PS+).

I'm still hopeful that the rumors about Spelunky being one of the PS4 games are true, and that it is cross buy with Vita (I think this was confirmed already). That way Vita owners get the game without using one of the 2 game slots. (PS4 owners are used to only getting 2 games by now!) I own Spelunky already and I love it so much that I want it to be a PS+ offering.

But I know it is hard as nails, and not for everyone. But god is it perfect on Vita (besides minor slowdown you get on two specific levels that show up maybe 2% of your runs)

Man, every once in a while my save game on Terraria Vita gets corrupted. I don't even know why. I looked it up and apparently it can be caused by closing the game while it autosaves, but I turned that feature off (And completely redownloaded the game from the PSN store from scratch) but it still keeps getting corrupted. Also, the game starts to freeze up after playing a save file for a while.

Welp, at least I got this for free. Not worth continuing playing when I know my stuff is going to get wiped in a matter of time :(

is spelunky a confirmed release for october? i was hoping to get that on ps4 via cross-buy.

Well iv check the actual connection. When i do the network test, i get like 4.9mbp download and upload when wireless, when i do the wired network test, it goes to 40mbp. I download Dead Nation, nearly took me an hour and a half. Download Trials Fusions, which is 2 time bigger (demo ), it took like 40 mins.

My router is like at 2 feet of my ps4, its really not far. Its the reason that atm, well i just hook it up wired.

And for your third question, well, you are losing me! ;). I think its set up ok, because my laptop got no problems.

I know this sounds funny (because you'd think closer was always better), but 2 feet is probably too close to get a good signal and that's likely at least part of your issue.

Being that you're that close, you might as well just plug it in.

There were pictures of the DR Vitas all along (the sprites are different ´⌓`)

No Flash sale this weekend?

The one Digimon game I'd on US PSN is this one
Digimondigitalcardbattle.jpg

Man Cyberbots looks good on dat OLED, just need to find a movelist and I'm golden. It's a shame this game's 3Dish models, while not mainly used for the game sprites, is overlooked. For its time it was a marvel.

Would've been interested in that Vita TV if it didn't have the big 1 and 2 on it

You could always sandpaper them out.

I'm still skeptical about that PSTV compatibility list. I really, really hope that SCEA's finally pulling their heads out of their asses and finish what they started since february 2012.

From the little I played of it, Spelunky really is a great game :); charming visuals, tight controls and its randomness can be really fun XD! (one of my runs had me stealing a teiliporter from the shop owner and he kept chasing me, even after I triggered a trap :D!). It would be a great addition to PS+ I think :).

So I'm playing Peacewalker on my Vita and am not sure where else to post this, but how do you get developed weapons to be in your inventory? Do they just automatically go into it? I'm not sure how to tell when something is developed or not. I need some supply markers for this tank boss that's got me stuck but I have no idea how to get them into my inventory. The game doesn't seem to make it very clear, the guy just tells me "Yo, you need some supply markers. Reorganize!"

If you've already developed a weapon or item, or have it available, then all you need to do now is customize your loadout right before you start the mission. There should be an option in that menu (which lets you choose who you're playing as, what suit you're wearing, etc.), but I forget the exact name of it. I think it's called "Mission Prep" or something.

post your vita layout

The only page that matters:

I usually like to not have my bubbles cover up the picture, but all my FF games fit perfectly on one page so I let it slide. Bottom right is normally FF X-2 but I had to delete it for a bit to make space.

I would post pictures of the rest but I recently had to rebuild my card's database and I don't have my other pages set up well yet.

Edit: Suppa your "good indies" bubble is sad! Mine would be overflowing...

16GB cards make for a barren layout.

The real question is why does Near have its own bubble and is not banished to the folder named "junk"? You can't want to spread things out that much!

I should see what the max number of games I can get on my 64 GB at once is. I have a ton of really small size indie games.

I like to use Near to see who's playing what around me - but yeah, it's mostly garbage.

Near is a filthy liar. It says there are like 50 people playing on Vita in a 1 km radius of me. I live in a bad area (downside to dorming at medical school, nobody wants to live near a hospital), there is no way you are telling me 50 people around me own and play a Vita. Also, I had to turn off Near when it was giving me like a notification every hour.

post your vita layout

I'll try to post mine later but man...
I have no more room for any more games on my Vita. I need to finish Counter Spy to decide if it is worth keeping on my Vita or not.

In addition I'll bite and get the Retail ver. of Sonic Racing Transformed. I don't mind having to unlock stuff again since I didn't 100% it, but saving 1.2ish GBs will be worth it.
Is the save data for digital VLR compatible with the retail ver.?

Namco needs to put Digimon World 1-3 on PSN. I would totally replay World 3 again.

I still have my retail disk and tried to play it. I think i beat 3 gym leaders and got stuck at Datamon. It's quite funny that I've been having more problems going through the game now that I'm keeping my bros equally leveled instead of going all out with Guilmon like I did when I was a kid.

It's good, but a little too grindy. And you'd need a guide for all those different evolution paths.

I hate PS1 cases. They are to fragil.

Any other ps3 coop suggestions? To pay with wife she likes Diablo but doesn't like dragon crown. I have about 36 psn bucks. Won't do Diablo do to no support no pc version.

So far these have been:
Borderlands
Ibb & obb
Tomb Raider Guardian of Light
Dead nation
Wait, why not play Diablo on PS3? I don't understand what you wrote.
Same screen co-op would be quite a different experience and it helps that it's a game she already likes.

Portal 2 is on my list of games I want to play co-op with my GF. I've never played it.
