Is the Suros worth it?

Or should I just buy a Doctor Nope or Shadow Price with my marks instead of using 23 of my coins on Suros?

I'm comparing more to diablo when they buffed legendary items and made them actually fun to use and clearly separated them from standard rare items.

Right now I'd say there are only 1 or 2 exotic weapons that are worth using.

Icebreaker and ?

I'm saving my money for an exotic sniper. Shadow Price is a fine replacement for the Suros Regime.

Some are obsessed, but the games flaws will more than likely kill it before the holidays. We are currently in a massive games draught that is about to subside and October and November are jam packed with new shiny things that will take people away. Activision pushed for this game to be released early in September so that they could take advantage of this. They knew people wanted something and the said this is the best date to release the game. Bungie even came out and said that they couldn't get the Grimoire cards in game because they ran out of time. Activision picked the date to squeeze the orange as much as they could.

Crucible will be killed off by Halo/CoD and there are not enough people in love with it to keep them around.

PVE will be killed off by everything else as Bungie is going to try and milk everyone on the progression while not adding content. The next expansion is due in December.

Bungie had the chance to strike while the iron was hot and put a game out there that would really carry over for the next 10 years. Based on their DLC schedule, they hope that reskinned missions "Queen's Wrath" will keep people around while they fix broken things like no social system and a messy loot system.

I enjoy the game for what it is, but I am only playing it right now because I have nothing else to play.

Speaks of Queens Wrath and yet no DLC til December....

No firehawk, mine will be solar, or I'm crashing my ship into the tower.
Haha, good luck. I almost want to try my hand at it some more just to have a set, but I don't think that'd be likely. But having one of every type would be amazing.

they patched out dismantling the queens gear for ass shards?
Yep. No reason to do them now unless you're just bored.

What is Xur selling today?
As you can see from the thread, everyone is buying the Suros. lol

Also guys, I've evaluated (in PVE) that AR with the ADS Damage buff is great DPS, possibly more consistent than a Scout Rifle and definitely a regular AR in PVE. Suros is very, very good in PVE.

As for PVP, I'm keeping my Shingen E for more "enfilade" maps and Suros for the larger, ranged maps.

I'm still conflicted. I have Monte Carlo but the stability makes it pretty terrible in a lot of cases. I want this but I'd hate to not get enough coins this week to be able to get a sniper or scout next week.

Oh and damn that hunter helm is sick for pvp.

Argh, done a public event this morning at gold tier, later ran into another, got back to the tower to find no public event reward.

Still looks like the reward is bugged if you do more than one before going back to the tower.

Really? I've regularly done them multiple times before reporting back and never been screwed on it.

Now, I'm paranoid for the next time.

Not the Nightfall, since it's locked in at level 28. You can replay the weekly heroic strike though at 3 different levels for 3 strange coin rewards each.

Or do the highest weekly strike once and get all 9 coins / all the rep.

I'm being sarcastic. I find FRs and HCs way more powerful in PVP than ARs/Shotties

Wha..? That's certainly something, I actually don't mind getting killed by FR and HC users, I think they're fine the way they are now and don't need to be nerfed. I agree with Bungie's assessment that ARs are beating out every weapon from pretty much any range, so that's why they're going to nerf its long range effectiveness. Not sure why they think a range nerf is necessary on shotguns, though. You have to get really freakin' close like you should be to use a shotgun effectively, and this is coming from an Invective user.

Your raw DPS is really just a function of your Impact and Rate of Fire. Attack is not a damage stat, it is a level penetration stat. If you are considered equal or higher level to what your bullets are hitting, the Attack rating is not used in calculating damage. This obviously is only an examination of bullets striking target; Stability has a more abstract effect on your actual damage, and Range determines the distance a projectile can travel before the damage begins to scale back per unit traveled.

Thanks for the information.

Ahh I don't know if I should buy the Suros. My legendary auto rifle is pretty good and I have a exotic Shotgun (invective). If I get the Suros then I won't have a legendary secondary..

Decisions decisions..

You can find a back up secondary legendary. You can't easily grab this gun again, think carefully :)

Bear in mind folks, you may only be able to equip one Exotic at a time, that doesn't mean you should only own one. I have three with Suros soon to make it four, and I constantly swap them out based on how the situation demands.

Y'know... I would even be fine if things did become more standardized. Like. I think I mostly want things to actually make sense lol. I'd like for it to be coherent =p

Having weapon drops that can have thousands of variations, many of them that are greatly outshined by other versions is weird in a system that doesn't seem designed for you to try to farm for good ones. I keep mentioning The Devil You Know to be kind of consistent. I believe it has over 6900 possibilities when you factor in its various mod rolls. 6900+ variations of a single weapon.

That kind of design feels like it was intended for a borderlands or diablo style game.

Now, if instead, there was just an array of entirely different weapons. Each one standardized. Every The Devil You Know is the same as another. Well, hey, that would be cool too. Now your goal is to get your hands on the items you want. Some people already play this way, but the item design just makes that impossible for me.

The game just seems like its distribution was designed for the latter, while the actual item design was for the former. It just doesn't quite mesh.

This is just another post to clarify my thoughts. I'm not ranting and raving and slinging 1/10 reviews and stuff =p Just trying to explain.

Yes I was hoping for the suros regime, just in time for the incoming nerf haha.

Also bought a exotic engram that turned into the exact one he was selling, not bad.

Got an exotic helm from an engram. Now what to do with my exotic gauntlets...

Seems like exotics are all about swapping in and out.

On another note: this morning while I was checking Xur before work, I decrypted some blues and randomly got a legendary shotgun lol. You get shit when you least expect it.

Thanks for the information.

I just hate suddenly dying to FRs from one shot outta no where. Even shotties need a few hits from medium range usually from my experience. FR is my most hated gun in PVP. I can deal with the rest.

there is another loot cave, it is on the route to the walker. You clear out the area mobs stand pretty far away on a truck, and kill groups as they come out every 6 seconds.

about 6 mobs come out every 6 seconds and at least alone it is a bit slow vs the original cave, perhaps with a group they drop more as they're blown up more quickly then.

I've noticed that if you destroy several mobs at once or in very close succession they will more frequently drop an engram. This is why these caves work better than shooting randoms outside.

Makes me think the "every gun should have a story" was some half-baked idea where you reward a player for what the game deems is a big moment. But in the end, the big moments happen so frequently, they had to make the cryptarch nerf most of what were supposed to be battle rewards lest everyone level up to the cap too quickly.

Got a question for the Queens Missions, if you re-do the same mission (restoration) will you always get the same piece of loot drop or is it random?

I'm asking because all I've gotten is only helmets for the past 3-4 times I have tried for my character. Has anyone gotten both the helmet and the chest armour from the same mission?

Yea someone was saying earlier they were watching someone do a new loot cave on earth rocket yard area.

I would've agreed had I not been sniped by an AR yesterday haha. That was kind of the last straw on the AR for me =p I still regret not seeing which one it was x.x Don't just mean caught off guard, I mean quite seriously killed from a range you expect from a scout or sniper rifle. I was dead before I knew what hit me, and when I saw their location I was completely dumbfounded.

So I'm playing pretty regularly, but I think I'm not paying attention to some useful info floating around.

GAF - for a level 25 titan duder, what's the best way for me to get exotics/legendaries? I've gotten two, but I've bought them from the crucible vendor.

Should I join up with gaffers and try glass? Should I go somewhere low level and just kill things for an hour? Are there any particularly useful tricks or spots that aren't patched out?

So.. how rare is The Supremacy Sniper rifle? So far, I've received 4 chests and a helm.

Seems to be rare - the only reason I am still dabbling with the Queen garbage.

Anyone here face Bungie in Skirmish last night? And all of you buying the Suros - aren't you worried after the nerf it'll be rather useless? I'm thinking saving my coins. Haven't bought anything from Xur at all.

Weekly heroic on highest difficulty gets you 9. Other than that, your best bet is hoping blue or purple engrams give you some coins. Nightfall and public events also can give coins.

Thanks! I may have to look for a group to roll with later tonight then, if the suros is as good as it seems anyway. ADS penalty sounds annoying though.

You know, I kinda think they should allow you to have an exotic for all three weapon types at once, for armor obviously allowing more than one would effect stats, but for weapons, it doesnt really matter, you could go into the menu and switch the weapons over anyway, it's not really doing anything other than making it take a little more time, by limiting to one.
