Icebreaker and ?

I'm saving my money for an exotic sniper. Shadow Price is a fine replacement for the Suros Regime.

Definitely Icebreaker and yeah...lol

I might just bank my coins and wait too, I don't have Icebreaker. I'm lvl 3 with New Monarchy, might just grind the rest of my marks and buy the Vanquisher. I'm already using Invective for now in my secondary slot anyway.

Best way to complete the 3 Fallen Walker bounty?

Go to patrol cosmodrome and ride to the strike area, the walker spawns there in patrol too. It's an instanced area so if you're solo, only you will be there so no one can take the kill.

If you're running through during, or near a devil walker event time, you can give that a shot too. Then just run on to the strike area afterward.

My Titan 27 last night, looking forward to a weekend of couch time, need to start up on Vanguard rep to get it to 3 for legendary weapons...but tonight I have inventory at work. Not in the mood for counting shit. Might also work on my lvl10 hunter, he's got some gear waiting for him at level 20.

Question on exotic engrams, I'm assuming they they're the only engrams that actually turn into the item they represent? ie: exotic shoulder engram will always yield an exotic shoulder?

You know, I kinda think they should allow you to have an exotic for all three weapon types at once, for armor obviously allowing more than one would effect stats, but for weapons, it doesnt really matter, you could go into the menu and switch the weapons over anyway, it's not really doing anything other than making it take a little more time, by limiting to one.

switching weapons loses ammo, so theres that at least too

Best way to complete the 3 Fallen Walker bounty?

I did two by just going to the area in the strike on patrol. Then did another in the public event close by. Someone said they did all three pretty quick with the first option but I had to wait a bit before he popped back.

Your raw DPS is really just a function of your Impact and Rate of Fire. Attack is not a damage stat, it is a level penetration stat. If you are considered equal or higher level to what your bullets are hitting, the Attack rating is not used in calculating damage. This obviously is only an examination of bullets striking target; Stability has a more abstract effect on your actual damage, and Range determines the distance a projectile can travel before the damage begins to scale back per unit traveled.

Question: If my light level is 28 and the mob I am attacking is 27 (and for arguments sake, I will never fight another mob above 27), is it even worth it to upgrade your legendary/exotic weapons once you've unlocked the last non-attack perk?

Since attack rating is simply a level pen stat, it will never increase my damage since I, theoretically, will never attack someone equal or higher level than me.

(I know this is not the case if you go into nightfall/highest level heroics, raid/heroic raid or iron banner you will fight higher/equal level enemies even at lvl 30, just making a hypothetical to get clarification.)

Why?

The difference is more like the better impact on Suros and better fire-rate and damage on Hard Light.

I guess Hard Light is a better choice yet.

im 2 coins short of suros. I dont know whether to bother either. Hardlight is turning into a beast now ive upgraded it a bit. Just need that stability upgrade and itll be like a mini gun.

That and hardlight just looks way better.

might save my coins and pray for handcannon next week

what is the quickest way to get coins? i think i only have 2 and would really like the Suros Regime.

Going from 2 to what you need in the time you have would require some incredible RNG. You'll only end up disappointed. If you want to try, you're first stop is lvl28 weekly heroic.

Suros v Helm to get me to level 28? Advice? Also will have to solo the weekly strike for enough coins for the Suros because bungie hates mm.

You don't have to wait if you go to orbit. Just orbit, jump on sparrow and get back there =p

little advice needed: i skipped vanguard and went straight FWC for rep. but, with my on-going connectivity issues in crucible, i'm mostly playing pve. would vanguard level quicker in pve? if so, do i need to reach vanguard level 1 to even get a vanguard item to rep them? i'm unable to buy anything from them except an emblem.

Ones that I know of so far:

  • Weekly Heroic Strike (Level 28) - 9 strange coins
  • Weekly Nightfall Strike - Chance at 6-9 strange coins as one of the rewards
  • Public Events (Random Chance)
  • Blue Engrams and above (Random Chance)
  • Chest farming (Random Chance)
  • Strikes (Random Chance)
  • Crucible (Random Chance)

I can not take this anymore.

I have been stuck on Level 24 for the past week and not only can I do enough strikes per day, I also do not get great drops any longer.

Bungie needs to change the toughness of leveling and actually make strikes worth my goddamn time.

It won't increase your damage against level 28 or lower targets, no. Attack only mitigates the level penalty of attacking higher level targets (which is quite severe and I think starts at ~30% for enemies 1 level higher than you, goes up by 10% per level difference beyond that then prevents any damage at 4+ level difference).

If you don't already have an exotic armor piece and you want to use the helm available for the long term, get that. Otherwise your first priority should be an exotic armor piece that you want to keep so saving your coins might be most beneficial.

You rep them just by removing the rep item of a faction, vangard is the default.

My character must have tongue banged the Cryptarch's [closeted lesbian] wife or something, because dude has been decrypting nothing but turds and other useless piles of matter. The last 6 or 7 legendary Engrams I've taken to him have all been weak & rare or legendary & out of class. The exotic engram I got from Xur was actually exotic.....for a Warlock.

Fuck you Cryptarch!

Anyone know if the "kill 3 Fallen Walkers" bounty is bugged? I've run Devil's Lair 3 times now and its only recorded one kill. Sigh.

FT8vi1v.png

I was afraid this day would come. I really enjoy PvP but giving out a gun like Suros/Last Word for coins is bound to tip the scales into chaos in the crucible. I'll wait till I play a few games to pass judgement on balance but I'm hoping I can still compete with a Shingen/Galahad

You have to get the killing blow or be in close proximity to whoever does. I think Bungie said they're working to fix it.

So.. how rare is The Supremacy Sniper rifle? So far, I've received 4 chests and a helm.
No idea, but it drops in addition to the armor piece. You'll get both if it drops.

Got a question for the Queens Missions, if you re-do the same mission (restoration) will you always get the same piece of loot drop or is it random?

I'm asking because all I've gotten is only helmets for the past 3-4 times I have tried for my character. Has anyone gotten both the helmet and the chest armour from the same mission?
The piece it drops is random. Gotta keep doing it until you get the chest piece.

You don't need an item to represent vanguard. You just need to not be wearing a faction item. Strike playlist, vanguard bounties and patrol missions all give vanguard rep by default.

Faction items turn that vanguard rep into faction rep. So leveling a faction is "easier" since everything can count for it. But since only crucible marks work for factions, your vanguard marks would be collecting dust(or capping) if you don't also increase your vanguard rank to spend them.

Thanks - that is how I understood it, just wanted to make sure.

Why are you doing Strikes? They're inferior to Public Events / Patrols / Bounties for marks and rep.

Anyone know if the "kill 3 Fallen Walkers" bounty is bugged? I've run Devil's Lair 3 times now and its only recorded one kill. Sigh.

It is currently bugged and not rewarding credit for standard damage assists. You will only get credit for either landing the killing blow yourself, or being in close enough proximity to the player that does. Given how far players tend to spread out in this encounter you aren't likely to have the latter occur unless you know this beforehand.

Some are obsessed, but the games flaws will more than likely kill it before the holidays. We are currently in a massive games draught that is about to subside and October and November are jam packed with new shiny things that will take people away. Activision pushed for this game to be released early in September so that they could take advantage of this. They knew people wanted something and the said this is the best date to release the game. Bungie even came out and said that they couldn't get the Grimoire cards in game because they ran out of time. Activision picked the date to squeeze the orange as much as they could.

Crucible will be killed off by Halo/CoD and there are not enough people in love with it to keep them around.

PVE will be killed off by everything else as Bungie is going to try and milk everyone on the progression while not adding content. The next expansion is due in December.

Bungie had the chance to strike while the iron was hot and put a game out there that would really carry over for the next 10 years. Based on their DLC schedule, they hope that reskinned missions "Queen's Wrath" will keep people around while they fix broken things like no social system and a messy loot system.

I enjoy the game for what it is, but I am only playing it right now because I have nothing else to play.

For all the hate Bungie gets, I do think folks neglect to consider their track record. The game is flawed to high heaven and Bungie knows this, and I don't think Bungie would've released the game in its current state if given a choice. After seeing that video of a skirmish team winning simply by suiciding and reviving each other faster than they could be killed, I knew the game hadn't been given the TLC it needed. These are the folks that made the Halo series - they should never have messed up that badly within a competitive multiplayer mode. It's jarring such an exploit exists in the domain Bungie helped make popular and refined on the Xbox.

You'd think someone would sit down and play the game they made, or watch testers play, or even have testers to begin with. Bungie has fumbled around a lot this first month, and have used hot fixes and bandages to remedy their missteps, but with the removal of Ascendant materials from dissembled queen legendary gear, it's become more evident content has been planned with little idea on ramifications, regardless if these consequenecs contradict practices already in the game. As far as the Queen event goes, of course high level players were going to dissemble the queen gear. High level people most likely had better gear than the Queen gear. And if some of thse high level people thought the Queen gear looked hideous with the purple and garrish symbol, they weren't going to keep the gear. Besides, the Queen gear given to players were for their specific class, and unless someone really wanted to roll two of the same class, dissembling was the only option and provided more incentive than keeping them in the vault to take up space.

This game had to have been rushed. Bungie's actions this month has the evidence everywhere, and in its current state, Destiny won't last 10 years as a franchise - but that's a call that would be more suited to be made a few months down the line, maybe after one or two expansion packs are released. That said, the nature of how expansion packs were already announced again goes along with the idea the game was rushed into fulfilling a time frame, going by the generic schedule of getting players hyped that future content would be ready for the game they'd love so much. However, nobody completely loves this game and we're all here hoping it gets the fixes it needs because we do find some goodness in it, and I think that's where Bungie had the most time to put effort in, such as the combat and the raid itself despite its bugs.

All of this said, I have no idea what Activision expected. This game isn't as insulting as Diablo 3 was with how it was released to accomodate for the auction house, but as a friend said to be describing Destiny, it's rude. Destiny is rude because the sort of padding the game has to keep people from accelerating is ridiculous RNG that even gets more ridiculous late game when you have to wait a week before shooting a dice as opposed to trying for another shot at gear every 10 or 15 minutes with a strike or a mission. This sort of game I'm playing after the first 20 hours is different from the initial game, but it's just as messed up and worse in some cases.

Perhaps Destiny was doomed from the get-go. The game manages to fulfill my raid fix, which is a success in itself. The raid is fun despite the fact RNG determines who gets what loot, but it blows how I'm interested in doing the raid on heroic but again, I'm at the mercy of RNG to give me the gear I need to do so despite the fact that I know how to clear every part of the raid and explain it well to people who don't. This game rewards higher difficulties with RNG mixed with higher stakes and huge delays that produce higher rewards. The better you are at Destiny, the longer you have to wait to get a chance to get better items. That, to me as somene who loves raiding, sucks so much.

tl;dr - Activision y u do dis

That what I was thinking too... I won't waste my coins in a AR that didn't play better than the one I have ;)

The weapons are really close the differences in my view are:

Suros: better impact and range
Hard Light: better damage and fire-rate

Both have a special skill to give a damage bonus (Suros when aim and Hard Light with all half of the ammo clip).

Anyone know if the "kill 3 Fallen Walkers" bounty is bugged? I've run Devil's Lair 3 times now and its only recorded one kill. Sigh.

You seem to only get credit if you get the last hit or standing right next to the guy who got the last hit. I suggest just going to earth patrol, run to the area where the devil walker normally is and solo him.

So, can anyone tell me the difference between Nightfall and Level 28 heroic strike? Does Level 28 heroic have respawns?

Which one do I get 9 strange coins from?

Hmm the Suros Regime is tempting... but I wouldn't be able to use my Last Word. I think my Last Word/Doctor Nope combo is preferable. Right?

For the record, I really don't think exotic weapons should ever be on sale for any price. These should be rare. Now EVERYONE is going to be rocking a Suros Regime.
