Here is a question, when will the cryptarch ever sell something other than white engrams? What is the point of leveling him up if all he offers on occasion is a green?

Leveling him up gets you decent rewards. But it is beyond silly that he never has the occasional blue to sell.

You didn't touch on how VoG has a terrible loot table, if it can be called that.

On top of that, you get no marks at all. You'd think every boss/event would drop marks for people to buy more legendaries so they could get better prepared for the raid. You know, kind of like marks in WoW or commendations in TOR.

I'm not digging this idea of each expansion having only one raid.

Plenty of other problems with the raids, but yea the loot table is one of them. Every boss should offer unique gear that you can't get anywhere else. If I see someone walking around with some particular shotgun, I should be able to instantly say "oh shit, that came from the second boss in VoG", or whatever. Nobody even knows what the fuck anything drops. And the stuff that does drop, aside from the fact that it has a tad bit more light on it than everything else, isn't particularly special.

It's not even just that though. I can't really put my finger on it, but it's like the raid encounters are 100% execution. I mean this sounds amazing on paper, but it means that once you know how to do it, it's a fucking joke. Maybe the problem isn't really that it's 100% execution, but rather that it's just not that hard to execute.

And then there's the issue of cheese. Every fucking encounter in this game it seems like has some kind of cheese strategy. It's almost like they designed the encounters with cheesing in mind. Oh look, a minotaur spawns at the top of the Nexus if you camp up there. They knew people were going to do that. Instead of preventing it by putting a huge wall so you don't have Line of sight on the boss from there, they were just like sure, go ahead and cheese. And then there's the cave at the bottom of the nexus where it's 100% clear that that cave was specifically designed with cheesing in mind. The thinking must have been something like "It's obviously 100% impossible to kill this boss legit on 28 with nightfall modifiers, so we need to make it possible to cheese, so that people can actually clear it". Like wtf? I'm convinced you can cheese Atheon as well, but just nobody has figured it out yet. You can certainly cheese the guy before him.

I have both Suros Regime and Monte Carlo and based on using the MC a lot (fully upgraded) and my first imporession of SR... SR is way better. It's honestly not even that close.

Nope. Not even as a consolation prize. You get ascendant materials as a pat on the back.

The raid is what all the strikes are building up to. VoG is the PvE challenge the game wants you to work toward, but you get no marks at all. You don't even get reputation.

I don't get this decision at all.

The more that comes out, the more puzzling it becomes. There are so many good ideas out there from MMO's that Destiny could have easily incorporated and didn't. I feel like development started for this game in the early 2000s and they were just locked in a room until the game went gold for a number of these decisions.

It was patched last week. People were just making new toons and buying the coins in cycle, since glimmer was shared account wide.

I spent hours at the first loot cave, not a single legendary drop... first time at the new cave, got one in 20 minutes.
