So, here's a bit of a random question (and I'm again asking a manga question in here, haha!) Would the novel Attack on Titan: Before the Fall contain significant spoilers for the main series? For reasons of reviewing I currently have the novel and should in theory read it before too long, but because I'm a weirdo who lags behind on the newer stuff more than anything I have yet to dig into the series otherwise (I actually have a hodgepodge of a few volumes from the recent con I went to, but I still need to fill in a good degree of gaps to have a proper set). So I'm pretty much trying to figure out if I'm going to have to give in and watch the anime for now (but I'd rather read first, and I don't want to dedicate the extra time) or if I can just go into the book without ruining anything for myself down the line.

On topic: I love how far out the Archie Comics solicits run for the Sonic and Mega Man stuff, but then I remind myself how awful they were with delaying stuff earlier in the year.

Not a big deal but for anyone interested, Arkham Kight figures are starting to show up in stores already.

I guess that is because they were already scheduled and weren't expecting the game to get delayed. It would be shipping next month if it had stuck. Not a fan of the Harley Quinn figure in that series either.

As long as they consider my application as colorist on their upcoming project, they can keep my car stereo. ;)

Done deal.
I'm actually hoping to finish drawing the first installment today (but maybe tomorrow since I'm super slow). Would you be up for coloring that soon?

I'd be happy to give it a shot whenever you're finished! I'm trying to get a workstation set up this weekend, actually. Are you doing some kind of inking?

You're a drawing machine Kipp!

Not really, it's only two pages. Haha. Definitely not a full issue.
It takes me about 10 times longer to draw anything than it would a more practiced person, since I'm essentially figuring things out as I go, so it seems like it's not much to show for the hours I've spent, but I'm learning a lot so it's all good.
It does get pretty tedious at times though since it takes so long. Hopefully I'm able to pick up speed soon.

Awesome! I'll PM you whenever it's done. It could definitely benefit from some coloring.
And really the only inking I'm doing is going over my really rough lines with some more coherent lines. Just the very basic aspects of inking.

Kipp, you have much more personality than an inkjet printer. Don't let this heckling get you down.

Haha. Thank you. I really appreciate your encouragement. :P

He could be like Robotman

body destroyed in a horrific reclining chair/omnibus accident

Hahaha

Kipp already falling behind deadlines

Comic superstardom awaits

I'm gonna be the next Nate Bellegarde!

Man, drawing can be really depressing. I think I've spent nearly five hours working on the final lines (going over the rough lines I already drew) and I've only done three panels.

This is true, and why I've failed terribly at managing to get enough time to get a webcomic running even though I want to (well, that, and poor scheduling).

Edit: And yeah, inking in particular is super frustrating to me since it near doubles the time and you're just going back over your lines. :(

We're going to need you to start double shipping next month Kipp, we need to increase revenue per title.

You're becoming a true artist, Kipp.

I've got the negative characteristics of a great artist down pat! Now I just need to work on the positives, such as "good at art." Haha

Exactly! Even though I have been making tons of little tweaks to my previous lines, it still feels like I haven't really done anything.
I guess it goes back to that saying that's something like "the last 10% of the job takes 90% of the time."

Go, Kipp, go! You can do it!!

Thanks! :P

I would die.
But then again, if I was creating revenue, I'd also be getting paid. I suppose that would be decent motivation.

Oh yeah. So I didn't have time to post earlier, but my haul from this month:

And my (comics) bookshelf so far...

I really can't wait for the next FF and BruCap omnibuseseseseses

How Is this still not on comixology ??

I'd email Bergen Street Comics and request it, since it seems as though they're in control of whether or not it'll eventually be available digitally... I've asked Fiffe myself, and reading between the lines of his response, it sounded like it was out of his hands.

Man all I wanted after working both of my jobs today and paying for my car was to get Hyrule Warriors, and they were sold out. Just FML right now.

Just finished reading through All-Star Superman. I really enjoyed it. Some pretty poignant moments in there.

Oh, and I got Hellblazer book two and Saga of the Swamp Thing book one yesterday. Pretty much everything in my backlog is something I can't wait to read, but I've been wanting to pick those up in particular for a while now.
