Still liked Book 2's trailer better though.

Yeah, this trailer felt a bit more thrown together for obvious reasons. But you have to admit, it was pretty damn amazing considering they were working up to the last minute on it.

Hard to say. Then again, I can't say for sure as I don't have a professional studio/equipment. But generally, things usually take a lot more time and effort than you would think when it comes to media.
But with trailers, it's all about concept (ie. taking footage from all the hours of stuff you have already animated. Cutting that all up, and making a coherent trailer out of it). Even on an editing level, I think it would take some work. I would say, even if it doesn't take a lot of time per se, they probably had more time in the past to plan it out more thoroughly. Whereas here they were probably racing against a deadline (ie. the show premiering next week).

This guy that my teacher brought in at my school makes these animations and edited them into an a cool 3 minute montage (where he also made the music) and he said it took him a full day of work. (the song was already made btw)

I'd personally guess if anything it was more the feeling that they were being rushed that would have been harder to deal with rather than the amount of time they actually had to do it. I mean season 4 has been announced for a few weeks now right? I can't imagine it should take longer than that unless they were still touching up on animation in that time frame.

How much material was he working with? This season is probably 6 + hours worth of content. I'm not even sure if all the material is 100% done (they might be finishing up post-production). But even if they were done, they have to sift through a lot of animation and come up with a concept.
I think editing/concept is what takes the time (not necessarily the physical work). Either way, even if it doesn't physically take that long to make, I think it probably doesn't help to have little time to be able to storyboard out the concept of the trailer. I liked the trailer either way. Just agreeing Book 2's trailer was slightly better. But it also felt a lot more together. It was actually a masterful trailer (one of the best I've seen for trailers lol)

Not sure how many videos he had to work with. It's more understandable (for me as a person looking from the outside) that it'd take longer than a day with them considering thay have hours and hours of things to choose from, but a few weeks seems like a good amount of time.

Jesus, Korra on Azulas Avatar looks like an abused wife. I see a Azula post, I have to keep myself from calling the police now

I FINALLY got around to finishing last season. I think that was the first straight up solid season of this show. Some nitpicks/annoyances here and there but at least the finale didn't implode upon itself like Season 1 or make literally NO SENSE like Season 2 
I was pretty disappointed that Zaheer and crew were pretty much random anarchists though and that random exposition dump that one episode was pretty weird/funny.

Also, wow does this show go out of its way to NOT say the word "Kill". Why does that word trip up American censors?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to Season 4 but fuck the fact that the show won't return to TV.
Oh and just to double check, is that Metal Bending Captain we see a lot in the newest trailer that same woman who spoke with Korra's Dad that one time after the confrontation at the Air Temple? I swore the way she spoke to Korra's dad was weird. Like "sexual-tensiony" kind of weird O_O. Clearly shes going to be a major character moving forward.

Wouldn't say evil because we don't know, but it appears that Kuvira gets rid of Su somehow from the trailer.
Well, she did let the Red Lotus compromise her city. She was fully trusting Aiwei and put him in a position of power. WE know, that she didn't mean bad, but this is certainly something that could be used against Su.
More like standing in as the world police after the red lotus thing.
