Destiny |OT5| New patch out Tues., Master Rahool reportedly crying into his robes

Eh, overrated. The guy who has the gun completed the hard mode raid, meaning that he's probably a top tier player to begin with. Seeing as how there is no 'rank' system in PvP...yeah, anyone can look good against others when you're that good ._.

Gun is a glorified scout rifle IMO.
lmao, top player?

with that gun even even a 9 y old kid without hands can be a top player in pvp.

What is it that you guys enjoy about Destiny?
As someone who didn't enjoy it, I'm genuinely curious.

From a MMO-junkie, it's all about the dopamine spike from loot drops. The RNG on gear itself is engineered to encourage further grinding with different element modifiers, unique traits, etc. The main issue is that the whole system and "economy" is so mindbogglingly ass backwards I can't reconcile Bungie's pre launch statements and the current state of affairs.

Also, I still haven't seen the goddamn space dragon I was promised in the trailers.

I'm absolutely loving The Last Word btw. It's biggest issue? The range. This gun is almost exclusively for short-medium range, so I don't know if I could use it in PvP effectively because in that range you'd be fighting fusion rifles, shotguns and punches.

so in order to get to level 26+ I need to 1. find someone around that level to help me out in higher level missions/queen's missions which are impossible to do alone at level 22 or 2. do the same shitty strikes for 100 hours until I get some super lucky legendary drop.

is that how it works

Thanks BlazeUK for the help on the Nexus Nightfall. Just completed it.

Good stuff, there's tons of good spots on there to help get through it, so easy to get killed by splash damage from the Nexus though. Sorry I didn't have my mic, a bit too late and didn't want to wake anyone.

Anyone running raids? I'll do normal or hard. Also need to level up my alt, so if anyone is looking for someone to play with for just about anything, I'm down. Message (assuming friending isn't working) me on PS4: SharkJAW

No. Not at all.

Level up your rares and max your marks. Buy legendaries from the factions and level those up until you get to 25. Once at 25 you can do all the high level 28 stuff where there's a really good chance for exotic/legendary drops.

If I had this gun, I'd argue its stats for why I'd use it...but in reality, it's because of that cool gun flip.

Damn, raid team ended on the final boss, I don't think everyone understood the tactics behind it so we struggled. I don't admit to knowing exactly how everything works but I've watched a few runs of it and get the idea (although no idea on relic controls so leave that to others). Still waiting on that first full run through of it.

I do have a growing list of decent shotguns though, got the Invective through an exotic bounty the other day and during the VoG run I got the Found Verdict which deals extra damage to Oracles.

Okay, I'll do my best to break down the play for you.....
Three at the back of the room, same each time, to get teleported. One of these needs to always take the relic and clear the mobs, the other two deal with oracles. Cleanse (left bumper iirc) once you teleport (one at a time to avoid glitches) back to the vault. The other three run defence, clearing up exploding supplicants and opening the correct portal side til the other three return. Then unload your damage-modifier of the week weapon (currently sol-based, snipers are best) against Atheons tummy. Rinse and repeat for win.
Everything else is practise. My roundup of choice was Suros (AR), sol sniper (any) and The Culling (Sol-based machine gun for mopping/extra damage output).
Sunsingers are recommended for support based on their grenades, this week anyway. Varies with bonus modifier-per-week.

Jarek sounds familiar, I think he may be the one I tried to do the last boss with. We couldn't do it, and were going to reconvene the next night, but I couldn't remember who I was playing with...and no-one invited me :(. I also remember audio Andy, but he's not on my friends list and I couldn't remember the exact convention if his name.

Anyway, the pre planning part is what kills me. Too many real life obligations to really commit at all. Sometimes I think I'll be on all night, and end up only playing for a few minutes. Other times I go to jump on real quick, next thing I know I've been on for six hours. Would have had plenty of time to raid, and just farted around farming bounties.

It's Vallus Morgahullus or something along those lines! Don't remember Audio Andy, but I was running the raid with Jarek et al on Monday night on a practise run. Never managed to get on again at the same time to help.....PS If you guys need me let me know in advance and I'll try to arrange my schedule around it.

Question: if I get a legendary message (gift) at the Postmaster and I dont accept it. Can I wait until the patch to retrieve it before going to Crypartch? I know they said whatever engram you have on hand wont count or something but does it apply in this case?

Namikaze/Shoes Nightfall down! Woot! I could literally do these alone all night and still have fun with it :D

edit: brb a while for guild stuff, then i'm back for more

Yeah if there's one thing that bothers me about PvP is when people don't acknowledge they do good almost entirely on their gun's part. Sure some others actually plan shit out. But at least in Halo with regular load outs you had to rely on skill since everybody started out the same, unless they grabbed a special weapon.

Is sitting in the entrance hallway for the Phogoth boss fight some farming strategy or something? My teammates are really annoying me right now.

Thanks a lot, and to Shoes too.

I wish I could have helped more. Only solar weapons I have are a shotgun, rocket launcher, and machine gun, so I was using the machine gun.

But so much is built around "Your Character" and "become legend" they would not strip all that for pvp to start you off no matter how good of an idea it is

Great thanks.

Anything else I need to do that's hard?

How can I do 5 strikes fast?

Do the Nexus strike (on Venus), it's the fastest one in my opinion.

Whenever I need to complete a Strike without dying (for certain Bounties) I still prefer the Devil's Lair, though. It's longer but the boss fights are less dangerous.

I Just finished the raid with some friends, I got a shader and Atheons Epilogue:

I got a Suros and a Fully upgraded Dr. Nope, wich is my main primary weapon, I was wondering if Atheons Epilogue would be a good replacement for Dr. Nope, do any of you use it?

Go to the mothyard on the Patrol and search every cave for chests. There are also chests inside the abandoned plane pieces. Between doing those, you'll find spinmetal along the way. It's not *that* bad compared to farming over materials. Grab a podcast and just relax while roaming

Not bad at all, I actually use the Earth runs to relax. I just zone out whenever I run around and farm. Currently have way too many spinmetal (263 pieces).

Thanks for the motivation. I will go cruise.

well, thats broken.

My goodness, it truly is. Now I want it :D!!

i'm hoping bungie will test out a special playlist, much like iron banner, but with everyone truly equalized aside from class and subclass and weapon type choices. allow people to keep their armor's appearance but not stats or upgrades, use a shader on teams (red vs blue works). pick primary, secondary and heavy from a list of crucible defaults. i'll keep dreaming.
