Hope the PSN issues are worked out or get worked out before this evening. I need to try to squeeze the weekly heroic and Nightfall in before they reset...

There's another cheese spot that if you have a group is safer. Walk straight off the ledge, land safely. Turn right about 70 degrees, and run to the wall. Look to your right. There should be a place where the rocky outer wall of the arena meets a stone column. There's a crack you can run into there. It's actually a cave that is fairly deep, and appears to have been designed intentionally with cheesing this boss in mind. Have everyone run in the cave. Have two people stand towards the far back of the cave and the other person peek their head out to launch rockets at the boss. As long as one person is always at the back, you literally can't lose because he can't be hit, and he can revive others.

I'm much more curious to see how people are going to cheese Archon Priest and Valus Ta'aurc when they come up on Nightfall.

I fucking hate that the encounters are so overtuned that the only way to beat them is just cheesing, with bungie even going so far as to design intentional cheesing spots into the arenas.

Archon seems to have something with a high up rock/backing up a lot but I don't know if it's as safe as the other cheese methods. I really don't see a way Ta'aurc would be tackled though due to the room he's in. The door you come in plops enemies around you and you don't have a good view of him from there anyway.

Though I don't doubt people will surprise me with stuff they find out anyway. The first raid boss has a downright hilarious cheese method, though the second one by nature of what you do likely won't have any simple method.

If anyone is interested, I'll be around @ 7:30MST (9:30EST). Hoping to do last raid boss, Nightfall, weekly on any difficulty but easy. lvl 27 Titan, PSN Fixed.

If you can get on earlier we are starting at 8:30est at the last raid boss on normal. PSN: rarbusto

I know it's not tied to performance, but it's fun to pretend!

That level 7 the real MVP, tho. Probably a Bladedancer Hunter.

Archon Priest is easy to cheese. You can get under the deck where the sniper spawn. You just hang out under there and pick things off slowly.

I haven't died on this strike in ages.

Made a titan, lets see how far I get before I get bored. I soo wanna make another warlock but I kinda wanna make hunter too, there should be more than 3 slots bungie, like wtf.

So I got to level 20 today after having the game for just under a week. First crucible match (that I actually leveled to 20 in) I got a Legendary engram that actually gave me a legendary sniper rifle. That's a pretty good feeling.

For Ta'aurc

It can take awhile. But you can go underneath the ramp on the right side of the room at the front and pot shot him. Nothing can hurt you. Unless you come out.

I don't know how to tell exactly, but I believe you. I have no problem describing it as "a lot more damage" Does the bonus damage apply equally to headshots?

Hand cannons are viable in pvp.

Hahaha yeah no problem there

What do you mean you don't know how to tell? Numbers pop in the screen when you shoot enemies. :P It's easy to tell when you're shooting a bullet sponge non-stop from the same distance. The shots with the higher number are the bonus damage bullets. It's about 50% more. I can't say if the percentage bonus is the same for headshots, but probably.

There's no point in using a handcannon for a primary weapon over a good AR in PVP. It just doesn't hit hard enough to make up the difference in rate of fire. Only The Last Word seems viable to me, and it's because it's an OP weapon.

Going to say something that hunters aren't going to like. Put my 26 Titan on the back burner and got my hunter to 12. Love arc blade(it is op), love the melee attack, but man do I hate the cloaks. Yes I said it. I hate the cloaks.

I'm the same way. My hunter uses the initial cloak since there is no hood. I wish you could choose hood up or down.

Is anyone looking to get the Nightfall completed tonight in about an hour and a half (7:15 EST or so)? So far me and PaulKersey from here are up for it, so we'd need 1 more. Bring your solar weapons!

I'm trying to get it done last minute on my alternate character since today is the last day.

hey! my k/d ratio was still better.

I actually did another game, dm on mars, the vehicle level and went 21-0. Camped* what would be the "b" if it was capture and ate all the heavy ammo. Didn't even blade dance for that one

This is my favorite description of any item in any game ever. If you have ever used a Doctor Nope, you now this is 100% accurate. It really is like trying to tame a wild horse. Unfortunately it's also my best primary weapon if I want to use a Pocket Infinity.

Same. But I have been too busy leveling my Suros Regime to care about my Pocket Infinity at the moment.

Doctor Nope is a lot like weapons from the Terran Republic in Planetside 2 (a game very close to my heart, +2000 hours played). There’s a carbine that fires at over 900 RPM in the TR’s arsenal. Anyways, Doctor Nope reminds me of that, and I always think that it’d be so much more enjoyable to use if I could only use a keyboard and mouse instead of analog sticks.

The only reason I favor the Suros Regime now is because of the minimum amount of work I need to do while aiming, though I feel certain the DPS of Doctor Nope has the potential to be much, much higher.

I send you a request, doubt if I'll make it in time, but if you guys are late or someone drops I'll be around. Otherwise maybe later this week after the reset.

So apparently Archon Priest is cheeseable. Ok guys, find the spot for Valus Ta'aurc now :)

Run with at least 2 titans with the shield that generates orbs as it is shot.

You should be able to keep a shield up constantly.

Use the defensive shield and melee any mobs that come into your bubble.

So I like playing with my local friends a lot, and I also do play with you GAFers from time to time via DestinyGAF EU 5 and adding people from there to PSN friends, but I just have this feeling I'll never be doing the raid. I'm level 27 and technically speaking I should have tried it by now, but I'm not sure I'm good enough at teamwork through voicechatting, especially not with a lot of people I've never talked to before.

Has anyone got the same feeling? I have 2 local friends who are in the army right now while I'm just working in my sabbatical year, so they're only available in weekends but we usually have fun playing still... but 3 is obviously not enough for the raid.

Any tips or tricks you can give me from your experience on doing the raid? Do I have to be constantly yeling in the mic over my team or is it fine when if I only communicate on-point for the lack of a proper expression.

I'm a bit shy which is really annoying, but I am not putting Destiny down until I've tried all it has to offer at least in its vanilla form.

I just read on N4G earlier, a headline saying that PSN, Destiny and CoD Ghosts have been hacked by DDoS or something... again.

I'm not really confident talking on the mic and I've played with a few guys from gaf and elsewhere, you really don't need to talk a lot if you're on a team of people who has at least 1 who knows what they're doing, they can organise people and explain what's happening and all you need to do is either ask for help if you need it or say where you're going if you choose a specific side (you need to split up for raids to cover all the enemies which spawn). Constant shouting is not really necessary, just be sure to listen to instructions if that's what you want to do.

Why would you make two of the same class?

Nah. Even without upgrades recoil is fairly easy to counter by compensating with subtle stick movements. With the stability upgrade, the thing is a laser-beam and doesn't really need any recoil-control at all, as it then pretty much has no recoil. The super-low impact seems to be its greatest weakness...

Definitely worth keeping for any Void Burn missions or for the Vault of Glass or Vex missions for quickly stripping Minotaur shields / killing Oracles though. Statistically, Atheon's Epilogue seems to be identical to the Doctor Nope Vanguard Auto Rifle, just with the unique 'more damage to Oracles' upgrade and Void damage.

I have a love hate relationship with it. I hate its low impact too much, its an ammo burner. But, as you said, its a primary Void gun. Which makes it invaluable in certain situations.

28 Titan in need of weekly and nightfall, available for raid as well (though I /pumpkin between 10-11 EDT). PS4 Mazre_

We're doing final boss at 8:30ish est of raid. I'd team up for some weekly right now level 28 if you want, psn:rarbusto

All this stuff on Reddit is just, man. Explains so much, and you can see how we ended up getting what we got from a lot of what was said.

Why they didn't want to have a really strong story to follow initially is beyond me, with strong characters, etc. Instead we got this weird mishmash that barely makes sense half the time.

Go to the moon, stop the sword, go to venus, meet a stranger, go to the reef and awoken!, get an eye, go shoot big god AI monsters

Its sad because its not like it can be fixed.

Judging by the grimoire score, it's an alternate character, so he could pick either subclass at level 1. C:

Whaaaat? I haven't made any alts, just my main Hunter. So, if I create another Hunter character I can start right off the bat with Bladedancer?

Edit: Apparently so. Sweet! Had no idea.

Anyone want to explore Seraphim Vault on PS4 right now?
I believe if you join my Fireteam it boots you directly there. I'd then have to leave and join you to get in there myself.

Explains a hell of a lot.

It could be fixed, though. There have been MMOs (I know, I know) that have gone back and completely rewritten their starting content. Admittedly, since Destiny is supposed to have a new game every 2 years, I don't see it happening. But it is possible.

Finally soloed the fuck out of Xyor on my titan, I'd like to thank Doctor Nope, my trusty bubble shield and Kid Rock's award winning hit, "Cowboy" on loop.

I had exactly the same kinds of concerns and a week ago I even posted here saying the raid was not for me. Then, a guy who friended me after a particularly efficient public event we blitzed messaged saying he was putting a group together... I almost passed but gave it a shot. A week later we finished it off at the 3rd sitting. We had at least 2 mute members at all times, sometimes 4, that made it difficult but it's surprising what the few gestures help communicate when planning away from the action.

Most of the time we just gave calls for cover, revives, oracle loacations and planning tactics, but it wasn't like we needed to be chatting away all the time or needed to rely on any past knowledge of each other/how we work best. So not knowing each other wasn't really a problem for us, that surprised me a lot, in a way it's got things in common with typical team-building exercises... some people naturally take the lead, some speak less often but then usually have something worth saying when they do, and others prefer to stay quiet and be told what to do.

I bet it's a lot of fun with existing friends, but please don't pass on a chance to give it a go, it's an experience that everything you've done so far in the game has build you up for... passing through each section and finally completing it some of the best feelings of accomplishment I've witnessed in a game. Do it!

Fellow EU5er ps4: legoman-D (yet to actually play with any fellow GAFers!).

After you get one character to 15 you can start another character of ANY class in their second subclass.
