The Flash |OT| Gotta Go Fast - Tuesdays 8/7c

Can't fucking wait for this. Pilot was great, and I've always loved Flash. I have full faith that this will be an awesome interpretation of the character, Gustin is just so likeable.

Flash Hype yo! Favorite super hero finally gets his own show. Those praise quotes on front page make it even more painful to wait for the Pilot.

Seeing as I don't have access to a TV most of the time, can I buy the episodes off say iTunes and watch them soon after they air? I've never done this before with a show that's just starting out, so not sure how it works out now.

Gotham is highly anachronic, though. Old cars and clothes mixed with mobile phones and night vision devices. It feels like it's set in its own universe.

That is strange. It looks like it is a 30s show in the trailers, it would be logical to be set in the 70s and yet it is modern? They should announce the death of the Waynes on Arrow and Flash.

There's really no point in trying to fit Gotham into the Arrow/Flash universe. Gotham would have to take place 15-20 years before Arrow, maybe more since Batman in the Arrowverse would be active for the very least since Ollie was on the island..

Anyway, one week to go!

I don't think Gotham needs to actually share a universe with Arrow/Flash. My comment was more about just having these shows on air at the same time - a treat for fans of the characters and mythologies. More like an "ecosystem" of shows based on DC properties, even if they don't all have the same fictional universe.

But yes, I'm excited for Flash. Good buzz for this one, and I've had a great deal of fun with Arrow thus far.

Shameless self promotion time, but wrote up some quick thoughts on the pilot
http://nerdsontherocks.com/tv-review-flash-pilot/

mostly about the tone, and how more than anything it reminds me of the Raimi Spider-man films... the good aspects of it... no dancing Barry... yet

I didn't like Arrow much but I'm real hyped for this show, I loved the pilot.

I've been curious about this as well, friend doesn't care much for Arrow and wants to watch the Flash, and wondering how much crossover there will be.

We already know of the big episode 8 crossover, but even characters jumping in-between shows is gonna happen

It's like Batman Animated series. Which means it's a place outside of time, where old and new tech merge.

Oh good on them not trying to compete with Agents of Shield in the same time slot. That would have pissed me off.

We outchea.

Flash Pilot >>>>>> Arrow Pilot > Gotham Pilot > Agents of SHIELD Pilot
Ain't this the truth.

Can't believe it's almost here, coming off of Arrow I have high hopes for this :D

I have been watching The Vampire Diaries and The Originals only.

But seeing that I'm in superhero mode with all the movies, I'll get unto Arrow and Flash sooner rather than later.
Watch Arrow S1 and up to episode 9 of S2 if you want to catch up only for Flash (although you should watch the whole S2 though).

Same with me, dropped arrow half way through the first season. But The Flash looks fun as hell.
Very much like SHIELD, the first half of S1 is somewhat weak but the second half gets way better.

Hyped as shit for the show after seeing the pilot. Can't wait to watch it in HD,

I can't wait for them to ruin the Rogues and for me to hate this forever!

Just kidding, I'll forgive the Flash whatever transgressions he makes as long as Wally doesn't take over in S3.

Im betting
PILOT SPOILERS!
that Wayne Enterprises reference is cut
from the final version.

I won't read your spoiler (haven't watched the preair), but yeah it's pretty much what I'm wondering.

If I know this is the exact same thing, then I'll watch it this week, but if the TV version has new stuff, I might just wait.

Maybe in pattern, but come on, first half of Arrow S1 is nowhere near as bad as AoS's one was.

Agreed. First half of Arrow S1 was solid, but the latter half was awesome.
The first half of SHIELD was mediocre at best, but the second half was awesome once we got to the Winter Soldier stuff.

I doubt shield was ever awesome, take what is unarguably the dullest part of mcu movies and make it into a series brehs

Daredevil will prolly be the best superhero show but this sounds likes its off to a great start already. Better debut than arrow I'm guessing

Why do people keep saying the "second half" of Agents of Shield? Didn't the Winter Solider stuff happen around episode 20 (of a 23 episode season?)

No abs or lightening in thread title. :|

Rest of OT is top tier though.

Doesn't feel like it has almost been a year since Barlicity.

Nah, I just don't like the personalty shift for TV Ollie.

Are you referring to him being a hardass in the first season, or his shift to more playful that they are hinting at for the third season?

Character in general, he went from resident Super Angry Liberal to 90s Gruffy Vigilante. Wasn't a big Green Arrow fan, but he did have a unique take on things.

I thought that it was clear I meant on pattern, I definitely wasn't comparing the actual content.

SHIELD's first half was on average (notably) worse, but it did have a brilliant episode among the garbage which I personally liked more than any of Arrow's first half episodes.

Disagree on the first.
On the second I'm kinda wary, so I'll just wait and see how it does.

Because the show started getting better before the Winter Soldier stuff happened.

17

but the show started to turn around at 13
Correct.

Fair enough.

Watch Arrow S1 and up to episode 9 of S2 if you want to catch up only for Flash (although you should watch the whole S2 though).

In that case, I should be able to catch up with the Flash episodes of Arrow before the series premieres. Will the Flash pilot have spoilers for the rest of Arrow season 2?

Daredevil will prolly be the best superhero show

dat Steven S. DeKnight powah

Wait, is that?
*Checks Google*
WHY DOES IT AIR AT THE SAME TIME AS SHIELD?!
Between this and Gotham during Monday Night Football, my understanding of how television programming has been completely undercut.

I WAS WRONG I WILL WATCH BOTH LIVE EVERY WEEK.
