when do the weekly limits for marks reset? Online I'm still at 75/100 for the week on Crucible. I'd like to max it out for the achieve but I don't think I'll make it.

Oh so I thought "Daily" and "Weekly" meant how often they were rotated, not how often you were allowed to do them. That makes more sense than what I thought. Thanks!

So at level 24 my plan should be:
1. Crucible points to buy some purples to prepare me for...
2. Higher level vanguard strikes?
3. Then Weekly Heroics?
4. Then Weekly Nightfall?

Trying to figure out what my plan of action should be right now to level up and be ready for things like Nightfall in the future. There are so many options that I'm a bit lost.

Incorrect... which is why saving engrams until a higher level worked in the alpha, beta and now. If you get some green engrams at 5 and turn them in at 12, they'll roll for a level 12.

With WoW for example, 2 pieces of Epic gear that go in the same slot can have completely different secondary stats(Either Haste, Crit, Mastery). I don't see why Destiny couldn't utilize a similar system, whether it was extra armor, faster firing rate, faster movement/higher jumps....it'd give people a reason to run strikes more than once, to collect marks, hell, to just find loot in general.

You mean like adding a set bonus to raid gear? I don't see why not have that.

Also, I think more people should be curious as to why no marks drop from the raid at all. It would make a better consolation prize than only getting materials.
 
Do you only need to equip the queens wrath gear,emblems, etc when turning in the bounties to get the % bonus for rep or do you have to have it on when the bounty completes?

Have you seen my guides in the OP?

Unless you are heavily into PvP primarily, you want to focus on Vanguard rank/marks first before Crucible.

One relatively recent addition to WoW that I hope Destiny adopts is the ability to collect items that allow you to roll a second time for loot after each boss. This at least gives you a feeling of some control over your chance to get items and the ability to increase your odds over just a once a week one shot deal.

Not completely true. I tested this with a bunch of greens i picked up early on and decrypted at lvl 20. It was a mixed bag but all "around" 20. Mostly 16's-18"s

That, and give Legendary gear in general a chance to have random bonuses instead of just '+Ammo', '+Cooldown', '+Reload'. Those are boring stats. People don't get excited for that. Something random like 'Grenades split to two in midair', "Hand Cannon shots have slight tracking', random things like that. Things that make people say, 'Wow, I wanna keep playing to see what I can get'.
 
Doing crucible matches is a faster way to gear than the shitty random grind once you hit 20?

Doing the rep grind of bounties and patrols and this shit is taking fucking forever to get light gear. Probably 5 hours into lvl 20 and only been able to loot like 8 points of light.

kind of pisses me off, I leveled 2 characters to 20 and received tons of rewards from leveling the cryptarch to only get screwed on my purples.

where someone that is doing that now will get guaranteed purples.

oh well. life isn't fair.

They're both random, untill you rank up and save Marks, so do the one that you hate less.

I didn't mean the items roll to level 12, I meant that the rolls are FOR a level 12 character. Which has deviation. They can go higher or lower. And with greens at 20 I'm pretty sure they have to go lower, I think they cap at 18 =p

The point is that nothing is decided on engrams at drop, it's all at decryption.

Legendary Engrams will be dropped to rare quality after the patch, though. But rares are getting a legendary rate buff, too apparently... so on top of the Cryptarch experience, blues may genuinely be worth holding on to til post patch lol.

Nothing is happening to your current blue engrams...Only the legendaries.

Hoarding blues to level up the cryptarch is smart! That's what I'm doing as well. If I level up the Cryptarch post patch and get a legendary engram... guaranteed legendary items from that! Way better than leveling up the Cryptarch pre-patch.

Look in the buildings around the one with the angel statue. I believe I found mine in a small room in one of them. If youre going deep into the angel statue building, you've gone too far. I *think* mine was in the building with the servitor and fallen near the beginning of the map.

I also had the comparison to WoW going in my head for a while, when I first did the raid, but at least in WoW even if you're not gaining actual drops from within the raid, you are acquiring Valor Points to purchase gear from vendors outside the raid that's required to progress, and still even if you're not getting drops the rest of the raid is, which increases your guilds / raid groups average item level every week allowing for further progress. I've only had situations where I didn't get anything for weeks if I was waiting for a specific piece of gear or if it was DKP system.

But I just did a VoG run where every single person received Shards / Energy, and only one person received a gun and it was Atheon's Epilogue not even a useful exotic, I foresee a situation where people are stuck at level 29 because they aren't getting the raid pieces of gear they need but instead getting shards and energies, which are used to...upgrade the actual pieces of gear they need.

I just don't understand the logic of having shards and energies included in the actual boss kill loot table, keep that shit to the chests and check points.
 
I think I'll go with the Bad Juju, making two other people suffer through a lvl 26 strike with no reward for them doesn't sit right with me :P Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Yup exactly what im doing. I saw some people leveling him already and keeping the packages at the post master but i think those are already rolled on. Thinking this way is a better way. Hilarious that some think i read the notes wrong
