Master Rahool is the Cryptarch lol.

I know who he is, but without like a cultural reference it's a pretty uninteresting title. Like if it was a play on some book called The Rise And Fall of O'Toole and I just hadn't heard of it, it'd be pretty brilliant.

But if it's just basically "A thing that has happened due to a patch" then I gotta give it a 7/10.

;D

This game is not rewarding at all. There's so much frustration both with the loot system/PVE and PVP.

The amount of grinding, and bullshit you have to deal with for the little reward in return is insane. This is a game truly built for the masochist gamer.

I'm done with it.

It's a game with not a lot of content so the only way to keep you playing is to making you chase that loot

I didn't realize the ship I'm using "Outrageous Fortune" is PlayStation only.

Where did you get it?

I swear Bungie never said the patch was going to drop on Tuesday, idk why people thought that it was. If I remember correctly they said "sometime next week".

Got my first set of exotic bounties
A Dubious Task: Invective
A Light in the Dark: Thorn
Toland's Legacy: Bad Juju

Which would you choose? Keeping in mind that the Bad Juju and Thorn are both underwhelming but might get better with a patch that may arrive before December and that shotguns are useless in high level PvE.

Hard to say since bungie said bad juju and thorn are both being buffed in the near future.

That said, I grabbed Invective my first go around and I'm happy with that decision.

Isn't this the first title that cross-references RL lol?

That ship's nuclear reactor is powered by 300 PS2s.

To make us think there are exciting and new events happening in the crucible lol.

It would be like CoD shutting down TDM or hardpoint on certain days of the week and saying that there are special Kill Confirmed and Capture the Flag events going on.

Really odd idea... give me all the damn modes whenever i want them Bungie!

I wonder if it's because the player base that plays crucible is too small so they don't want to spread people out even more? I know I still sit in the waiting for more people to join for a couple minutes sometimes.

That only tells you that the level is rolled at the time of decryption. If the quality of the item were determined at the time of decryption then they wouldn't have said "This only applies to engrams obtained after the patch goes live" when talking about purples always decrypting into purples or higher. The fact that they explicitly stated that tells me that the item is determined when you acquire it. At the very least, the QUALITY of the item (green, blue, purple, yellow) is determined when you acquire it, and it rolls for your level when you decrypt it.

A ton of us, including me, hoarded ALL our green engrams when we leveled up the first time. We didn't decrypt anything until level 20.

They were all the top level green decrypts, so level 17-20 or so. These were acquired while my dude leveled up, so we're talking loooooow levels.

As to the quality, that very might be true and I haven't tested for it. Don't think I can.

As to your comments, though, what they said for the patch should not be used as evidence since it should be pretty easy to code for "create date" as it were when they do the patch. It doesn't mean they NEED to (for example, your reasoning being right means they wouldn't).

If it's just quality, means we're both right :). Also, the main point was still people are missing why we're hoarding the blues.

Best: Praedyth's Revenge. From the VoG, void damage sniper rifle with the most insane reloads I've ever seen (added to further thanks to other similar buffs my character has). Hit the sweet spot and it explodes targets causing area of effect damage explosions ( e.g. vapourises adjacent Vandals when you snipe the guy next to him). Was taking ~8000 a pop off an animated Atheon, with 6 quick, steady shots from the magazine and a total of 24 it's dangerous to be around.

Oldy but goody: Bronzed Miyamoto-D. It's only a rare and I've had basically the Legendary equivalent and recycled but kept this one. It got me through much of the earlier parts of the game and was a ton of fun to use. Insane RoF with miniscule impact, but had the great effect of helping put some strike bosses (such as the psions) into a kind of shocked/stunned state when also fired upon by others in the fireteam. Similar with the Public Events to destroy the target, kept them from running away too fast. This one is in the bank, never letting go, in fact I might pop it back into my inventory just for fun when I start my new Space Jesus tomorrow, will give me something to aim for before level 20.

Cosmetic: Fragment of the Prime. It's sparkly, nothing more than that. Other Side of Nothing has nice purple mist, Forgotten Force has nice fire, but I prefer the cosmic bling of this one.
Awesome answers. That sniper was giving me headaches all over the Crucible last night, even on close quarters maps. crazy! And congrats, our first class item on this list XD

Come on guys, we're all stuck waiting for what patch may come. Top 3 Favorite items go!

It's because well, for a majority of online games, patches drop on Tuesday. WoW, Starcraft, Diablo, League of Legends...to name a few.

Gonna be taking on the Raid tonight. If for some strange reason that I find some Raid gear, what sort of materials does it use for upgrades? The ever popular Shards of Ass?

Not necessarily - they could just as easily be making sure people haven't stocked a ton of purples to then redeem for a higher than originally intended drop rate of Legendary items upon patch release. I'm sure post-patch the purple engrams will drop far less frequently in return for guaranteed results so it makes sense they wouldn't want to rain legendary loot on people who've been stockpiling them. That's how I interpreted that, at least.

Ayup. That and Blizzard conditioned us to expect patches, if they happen, on week resets.

Bungie, communicate, please. WTB more community managers.

Am I the only one with mild OCD that wishes you could sort your secondary weapons by elemental dmg or weapon class?

I have void/solar/arc for each gun type and its just annoying to look at and find the gun I want. I end up swapping them out like one of those stupid tile puzzles in a vain attempt to keep them organized.

/destiny problems.

It's odd. In Destiny, I take a purple engram to Rahool and he determines its a blue headpiece because lol. Thankfully this is getting patched.

In Diablo 3, the closest equivalent of this would be to pick up a piece of legendary gear and having to identify what it is. I picked up some legendary main weapon that dropped off an elite mob. The weapon ended up identifying as some 2-handed huge red sword that increased my damage by 90+%, multiplied the amount of fire damage I dealt, and would sometimes proc to summon a giant, flaming sword-wielding golem that was leashed to me by a scorching red chain. Any enemy touching the chain would be burned.

Destiny doesn't have to be as insane as that, but it could be a bit more creative.

You just named 3/4 from the same company, lol. Someone mentioned the last patch hit on a Wednesday, so that was a more logical guess than Tuesday.

This isn't likely because regardless of them saying it to avoid people stockpiling... some people will still stockpile just in case. So it becomes fruitless.

It's more likely that Engrams that have dropped before the patch are already restricted to a specific loot table that includes dropping lower quality and that they can't retroactively change that without manually adjusting each engram for each player, which of course would be an insurmountable task.

we need a loadout system. DS4 swiping could be the way we do it too, it worked in Warframe

Yes. Also, I hate how I can't easily manipulate my Vault.

so what's worse - not knowing when a patch will drop or being told it will drop on X but then having it delayed last minute to Y?

Representing GAF. There was only two players on our team, then another one joined. Losing badly to begin with then won!

I wonder how the nightfall will be this week. That strike seemed like it could be one of the more irritating ones. Maybe I'll try and run it with people (and earlier) this week.

I know the patch is supposed to be sometime this week, but it would be an awesome "start" to the fresh reset if they could get it out there today.

Also, just wanted to thank the people who responded to my exotic question at the tail of the last thread. Makes me regret skipping the rocket launcher Xur had during one of his visits.

I'd love for more organizational features!

also that kill 200 enemies for pocket infinity, do i need to kill with a fusion rifle?

Indeed sir

~14 hours until Speaker refreshes. Dude better have that XII Titan mark back in stock this week, I need something to work on besides rep for a few days.

I'm finally at 25! Hopefully it doesn't last ages like 22 did...

Once you get an exotic piece of armor all you care about is ascendent materials now that is hard to get. I need about 40 and only have 8 and I'm lvl27 damn near 28. I'm pissed at only one thing...lack of characters with character and the queens armor not being able to be disasembled to get ascendent materials. OMG Bungie why did you do that!?. I know why but I'm still pissed :)

FYI: i started a new charater and I got a shard pretty quick sweet!
