Lol, the facebook uploads are fine. That just explains the screenshots looking a little blurrier than I'm used to seeing. :P Thanks again for the coverage.
 
Welp, got out of bed and watched them, here's my mini-rant:

Gamers are so spoiled some times. In one fall season, racing fans will have gotten to play an open-world racer set in Southern Italy and France, one of the most beautiful, atmospheric circuit racers ever made, a game in which you can LITERALLY drive across the country in real-time AND a brand new racing sim IP...

and we want to bicker about power-lines and numbers.

Norway really does look much better than the first track you showed.

Their AA seems to be dependent on width of the cable. Looks solid as long as it isn't 1 pixel wide. It seems to have no effect when it gets that thin. So it really depends on which portion of the track and how far the cable is from you. The farther it is, the higher chance it will appear jaggy

May be they will throw in more AA when photo mode is out, specifically when you turn on that mode.

shit looks legit already. I don't look forward to the re-melty-meltdown of numerous posters come Oct 7 and no assblastmazing GFX upgrade turbo uber 8xAA MSAA FXXXXXXXX UBERDOWNSAMPLE extravaganza patch.

Seriously, if you can truly visualize Rapiers vid's without the youtube compression or non-USB transfer... then you know, at this very moment, what the game will look like. Dev's don't magically pull 20% performance upgrades out of their ass.

But for seriously serious... even with the youtube compression, how can one cry about what we are seeing? DC looks legit.

That's why I was asking earlier on. It seems to me that when the wires are only one pixel width they have stepping. But is it even possible to add AA to a one pixel thick wire? Surely only a much much higher resolution could solve a problem like that, and even then there would still be stepping (put tinier).

Okay, my one suggestion is pick something like 10AM if you are trying to do sunny because 12PM is like the flattest it can look.

The motion looks awesome. I think I'll probably up the TV saturation a notch because I like the sort of amped up stylization from the OP press stuff, unless it's PS4 compression stuff messing with it.

it's really hard to replicate that natural bright sunlight at noon lighting. even movies can't do it.

or it can produce a very bad effect of too much brightness, kinda like the real thing where you have to squint your eyes because of the glare.
 
OMG the AI is absolutely brutal! Sometimes even to each other! The campaign on pro difficulty is gonna take me weeks to beat
 
hot damn, the scenery in this game really give you the sense you are travelling a substantial distance. For example, the snow capped mountain on the Chile track. You drive past it, away from it, turn around and drive towards it... its is an anchor on the horizon. At times you are close, and 2 minutes late your are far.

It's the toughest kind to get rid of. Would be interesting to learn what they've done if they have manage to address it down the line.

It still gave an awesome idea of how shadow and coloring looks in Norway so we definitely appreciate the chance to see.

6 more days for the download to start. I cannot wait. The sense of speed is really good from those videos and all the sounds are great...the engine, the wind, tire squeals and the dirt...really amazing. Norway will be my preferred photo mode location, it just looks crazy.

Maybe you could record an offscreen video so that we can hear the music if that's not asking too much Rapier?
