Anyone else make these?
The skin is pointless when youre making a broth or stew so I always freeze the chicken skins to fry later. Better than bacon.

People eat skin? Besides pork rinds, I had no idea this was a thing. Isn't it kinda like eating leather at the end of the day though? Kinda holocausty if you ask me, but I ain't hating; if it is edible and you like it, go for it!

Skin is awesome when cooked properly. Chicken skin is classic yakitori. Chicken skin fried up pork rind style is also really good.

Chicharon tacos are the best. The real good stuff with the pork meat and fat along with the skin.

Looks alright, but I'd pass. Then again, I'm one of those weirdos who peels the excess fat and skin from fried chicken.

Chicken skin is so goddamn delicious if cooked and seasoned well.

Oh that's probably so damned delicious, chicken skin is off the hook. Never had a specific dish of just them though :(

The skin is my favorite part of the chicken along with the liver. I love chicken skin yakitori. Breading and frying them sounds awesome.

I personally prefer them to bacon as well, especially when it's added to a meal. Bacon overpowers everything it's near but crispy chicken skin is absolutely perfect.

Have you ever had KFC? Or Popeyes? Or any sort of normal chicken dish? They all have skin...

Have you never had a whole roast chicken? Or even any fried chicken for that matter. Without the skin chicken is too boring.

Also, OP, what's so bad about putting skin in when making broth? I've even used chicken feet before. If it's a part of the chicken and not feathers then I saw it can be a part of the broth.

I was raised to take it off, like the fat off a steak. Guess never thought of it as uncommon until now. Like, I thought the point of cooking it with the skin was to keep the innards inside seared and juicy. I love KFC, but usually order the strips, grilled stuff, or drumsticks which I peel the skin off of.

Huh, that might explain some things...

edit: It sounds like you at least ate chicken with breading on it before; it's like that but good chicken skin just tastes much better.

I don't think it's that uncommon. I peel off chicken skin and typically trim most fat from my steaks (after cooking, of course). I usually don't find the skin or fat worth eating unless it's from my dad's house, because he raises his own chickens and gets the rest of his meat from farmers he knows. I've been spoiled.

For fried chicken, I rarely eat drumsticks or breasts on the bone. I'll stick to chicken tenders, unless it's coming from a restaurant or person that I trust to make some good fried chicken.

What does "kinda holocausty" mean

Anyway, people outside of America eat various skins fairly frequently

"Kinda holocausty"

wat

Straight up genocidal, yo.

I still can't believe that's getting ignored...lol

No they're not getting off that easy.

Huelen, what the hell does "kinda holocausty" mean?

You take the fat off the steak??? You poor deluded fool, that's the best bit, just like the skin is the best bit on the chicken

Well, according to some accounts during the holocaust, conditions in the ghetto were so poor the men took off their leather belts and boiled them just to have some very, very basic broth. Just struck me as odd that an action such as consuming skin on its own (with the exception of pork rinds as that is the only well-known example I could think of) would be used for any other reason than sheer survival. Obviously I was wrong and people enjoy the skin/leather/rind whatever. I guess it's just a difference In culture thing. Once we served some guests corn, they claimed it was fit only for pigs, and angrily left; different cultures, different traditions.

You don't have much experience with a lot of cuisine out there I'm guessing?

I just had 8 pieces of Pop Eyes spicy chicken.

Threw away all the crispy skin.

In my experience, chicken skin only tastes good when grilled or baked.

I think hes referring to the tales of nazis skinning jews and making furniture with their skin.

that's really fucked up
