Nintendo DLC Pack
Ice Climber
Lucas
Wolf

Pokemon DLC Pack
Mewtwo
Ivysaur
Squirtle

Konami DLC Pack
Snake
Bomberman
Simon Belmont

I could see the first two happening...

I'll be more than satisfied if we just get Mewtwo and IC's back.

I mean, FFS, Mewtwo needs to make his triumphant return.

Stealing money and selling a video game early are pretty different things, dude.

Either way it's a dick move to get people fired just because you want to see someone suffer for selling you a video game early. There's no reason to be an asshole to someone who broke the rules for your benefit.
The rules aren't broken for any of our benefits, it has nothing but bad results, as seen by the ORAS situation in Canada. Even assuming this stuff only happens on the lowest-level (like you're saying), that shows incredible irresponsibility on the part of the employee. An employee that easily breaks such an obvious rule either doesn't care about their job security at all or doesn't have the skills to do their job properly. We shouldn't protect them.

The simple solution here is to be a nice guy by kindly telling the customer that the game will be out in a few days and apologizing that you can't give it to them early. You do a nice thing and you don't risk losing your job in the stupidest way possible. It's a two day wait lol.

Remember when games didn't even have a hard street date? You would look up when the game comes out, and it was a crapshoot to see if they actually had the game on that day. This store would get it on Tuesday, another on Thursday, another on Friday. All of these dates are AFTER THE SUPPOSED STREET DATE. If you were lucky, someone would actually check in the back and find you a copy they haven't put out yet.

Pretty sweet stage we got pics of. As the 3DS launch grows near, so does my hype for the Wii U version. Game modes aside, seeing it on the TV in greater detail will be very nice.

My thought is if they really did not want people breaking the date, they would ship it only on the night before to stores. Amazon is the exception because it takes a day or two to get it to your door on release date. It really does not hurt anyone because everyone still got paid, just a day early. I mean nothing is going to be spoiled since it came out in Japan a month before. They should have just released this game on Tuesday IMO.

Man Atlanta sucks for trying to get a game from somewhere breaking street date >_>

I tried earlier this year with Mario Kart 8 at my closest Sears and they just wouldn't budge.

Glad some of you guys are having good luck though.

Can you expand on the ORAS situation? I have no idea what you're referring to.

I agree that breaking the rule shows a lack of dependability and trustworthiness. But who does this particular kind of violation hurt?

Well jeal' of anyone with their copy early right now. Stuck in work until 9 but off all day tomorrow and it should hopefully come then as well. Not sure who I'll be using first.

ORAS is delayed in Canada vs other territories, most likely because Canada was one of the places to break street dates for X and Y very early. So because a few store clerks were nice guys, everyone in Canada has to wait haha

If they released it Tuesday I'd have failed my exam tomorrow.

The Wii U version probably won't ever have an official date, so we should be able to pick that one up right away.

If only there were copies of them out there. :(

Also, anywhere that breaks streetdates is probably doing it out of ignorance anyway since I'm pretty sure those boxes usually have big, obvious hold tags on them saying DO NOT SELL BEFORE _____ DATE.

Yeah that sucks for Canada, but I find it amusing. I think that was a more severe case because it was a worldwide release. There's nothing in the US version of Smash that we haven't seen for almost a month now.

Indeed, got denied by one store saying they did not have it. Going to try 2 more stores then I give up and accept Gamestop at midnight.

Edit: Also wasn't Pokémon X/Y in Canada broken like a week early? I can understand that a bit.

oh really?

haha sucks for them

suck it zroid

Apparently they are getting the game a week late along with mainland Europe (28th vs. 21st). People speculate this is punishment for a few leaked copies. It is stupid as the leakers will get the game early but early is now the same time as everyone else...

The European one is look increasingly likely that Smash Bros U is coming out on that day though.

I'm not sure if Canada ever got the 21st confirmed either.

It is only delayed in Europe. Canada has the same release date as the US (Nov 21st). It was only one store that broke the street date in Canada (although it was really early) while many stores throughout Europe, including big box stores, broke the street date.

They didn't confirm the release date for Canada at the same time as everywhere else which made people wonder if it would be delayed. This is old news.

Wow, pretty crazy. Can Canadians at least just buy the US copies from online vendors? Is there a difference in packaging or anything?

Oh I agree, it's pretty funny haha. But it's still a clear case of the negative effects of breaking street dates (which apply to all of Canada now), as opposed to the positive effects of some random guy getting the game a day or two before everyone else.

I mean, I can see telling people to not spread store names around because you want to get your early copy before they get shut down, and that's more understandable (albeit pretty selfish), but it's silly to say we should protect people who are just being shitty at their job.

Edit:
Oh, it was Europe? That's my bad.

The Pokemon Company never forgets.

So get this, the girl had it in the back, and was going to give it to me, but someone stopped her as she was coming back from the back. meh oh well, she told me to try later today.

Think i'll be picking this up on friday. I played Melee way back when but didn't really get into it. I'm more picking this up because I had a blast with Uprising especially online and the demo was good. Even though Uprising and SSB are completely different i still think this will be similarly fun. So yeah, guess i'm in.

I'm glad I'm getting the game on time. Gives me an opportunity to finish the last bit of Xenoblade before I get Smash.

It almost here! Excited to be going to a midnight release tomorrow, much like for SSSB.
Yeah! Midnight releases for Nintendo stuff always gives good stories. I still remember when some kid screamed and kissed his brawl copy at midnight, and when some guy tried to hit on girls at Pokemon X/Y by showing off his cool new Yveltal 3DS XL. It didn't work lol

The kid is cute, the guy is creepy. I wonder if Gamestop has wifi because I really want to test local play while waiting for midnight.

Yeah, pretty much haha. And I think they do, but I know my gamestop at least is having a tournament, so ideally they've thought of a way to stop interference.

I wonder how long it'll take before that transformation thread goes off the deep end.

Not too long I assume. It has "Sakurai" in the title so it's bound to go downhill.

Omg literally in arm's reach! Definitely try again later, you never know..

If someone could make a main forum post if a patch lets me use the d-pad, that would be swell. I tried, but I just can't use the circle pad in a game like this. It's awful :(

Apparently you can customize some of the controls. I am going to do that because I cannot stand the uselessness of X and Y in the demo. So there might be a setting for having the D-Pad be movement and Circle Pad taunts.
There isn't.
Dammit Nintendo, that is dumb.
