Sorry, I suppose that's not entirely accurate. It has been exotic armor in the past. Based on vendor prices I would almost expect a weapon engram to be more, but that's just an assumption.

At first I was going to say in order for this to work then bounties would require organizing a team to complete, as to be raid ready the only real requirement outside of level/weapons is a synergistic team. This would require the bounties to be team-oriented then I realized there is at least one that already is - Thorn. To get it you need to kill Xyor in a strike, but there is no matchmaking for that and you have to be the one to select it on your map to complete. I suppose it's possible to solo, but for me that is one of the more challenging ones and really does seem to need an organized and communicating team.

Great haul tonight. Just got the Patience and Time exotic sniper rifle after completing the Nightfall and the Thorn handcanon by doing the bounty, with the help of fellow gaffers.

I think I just had an epiphany. The fact that you often get shards in a raid isn't inherently bad. What's bad is that it happens in this game.
What i mean is, in other MMOs, raid bosses frequently drop 1 or 2 pieces of raid quality loot, but it's for the entire group. People then have to decide who gets what. But this feels better because everyone can at least see the drop, and there's rolls so that everyone has a chance and you can pass.
It seems to me like Destiny has a different take. The raid bosses still drop 1 or 2 legendaries each time, but not everyone sees it. People just see "oh I didn't get jack shit".
Based on this, I'm starting to question whether guaranteed equipment every kill is the best design. You'd just be done too quickly. I think this is exactly what bungie was hinting at when they commented about changes they were planning to make to loot.
But there's still a problem. That only works in other games because there's other stuff to do. There's other raids. Other ways to get gear.
I liked the Light system at first, but now i think it's part of the problem. People want to get max level first, then keep upgrading their character. That's just psychology. In Destiny max level is literally the end of the game. Everyone at max level has identical armor, there's no itemization (i.e. Choosing between three different chest pieces with different stat distribution). It feels bad not being able to get to max level. And to make matters worse, the only activity to help you reach t is only doable once a week, and usually gives you nothing useful.

Rusted Lands was the map I tried last night and like you said, if I was trying to do bladedancer it would be great but it sucked for trying to use my fusion rifle. I might try to get a void sniper rifle. I did well with one in the beta.
I hate shottys too. I will just be picky as to the maps I play on like you said. You guessed right, I don't do much pvp. The pvp requirement for the bad juju was much easier because I never lost points. I found that I wasn't actually too bad at pvp but that was with all of my tools. I am not going to give up yet!

You forgot that there's a chance to get gear/weapons from the second chest. I'm not sure how I feel personally about guaranteed drops in Vault since there are so few slots to gear for. While you can have dry spells, you can also have winfalls. A clanmate last night got two pieces of Raid gear and a Raid Legendary Weapon in that run.
Nothing official has been said about when Trials of Osiris will happen. I'm not sure they've even officially acknowledged it's existence.

My Titian is a baby. I got it to lvl 12 in around 3 hours (Queens bounties help with XP).
Destiny players can be real shitty.. Here I am a lvl 4 on Earth patrol, and out of nowhere a lvl 27 interrupts my headshot bounty by meleeing everything :/
I'll write that guide real quick for you:
Be lucky enough to get raid gear. You should already have one exotic armor piece by then. Raid gear is really all you need by this point. Haha.

You can hit 29 without raid gear if you want to, but I'm not really interested. Acquiring multiple exotics and coordinating legendaries is going to be a bigger part of my endgame.

exactly my issue right now. I can waste those 40 raid shards on leveling my faction legendaries but really I should be waiting for raid armor and spending it on those. No raid armor? No real point in falsely inflating your level to 29 only to lose it continually as you replace your gear.

Lucky you! Xur doesn't have many options left for Titans so I'm hoping this is in. If there is a repeat like what happened with the Sunbreakers I would cry, unless the weapon offered is what I want then I won't have to choose - but I'd much rather the helm.

I've seen a few people report that it dropped at the end of this weeks Nightfall quest, which is were I got it. Probably just coincidence, but if you haven't run it yet then it might be worth it before buying it from Xur.

But boy are they sexy, I bought the Vulture bond for mah wooflock... and now I do not even use it thanks to the Prime bond from a raid chest. So yeah wasted my motes.
