I am currently a Level 24 Hunter

I have been looking at the factions such as Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, and Future War Cult.

I cannot decide which to specialize in as I use and like to use all 3 (melee, grenades,super)

Would it be better for me to forget about these factions and just buy Vanguard armor and mix it up, since the Vanguard sell armor for either INT/DIS or INT/STR

So I can get Helmet and Chest Armor as INT/DIS and BOOTS GLOVES as INT/STR and then rely on perks to to increase these too?

That way I end up with soemthing like 70 for Granade,Melee,Super cooldown instead of 100 for two of them and less for the 3rd

I don't know

yes. the stats are largely the most minute part of your build, don't worry about it- the vanguard armor will more easily get you to 26, which you want. you can worry about faction gear later on or not at all, depending on how much pvp you do.

So is there any decent way to farm Ascendant materials outside of Raids and Public Events/Daily Story?

At least for shards, you can buy a piece of Legendary armor for 65 Vanguard/Crucible marks and just dismantle it. You can also spend your Motes/Strange Coins with Xur in the same way.

Once you get raid/exotic weapons and armor there's not much use for the crappier legendary stuff you can buy with marks.

Edit: Depends on what level you are but some of this helped me get enough shards for Lv30.

Really happy with the Tiger reward changes. Seen a lot more people getting legendaries and even exotics. Though none of them came to me it was nice to see. Even if it was awful seeing the one weapon I want most....3 times....go to other people.

love the new patch got me my 1st exotic!

Also got new legendary chest piece and arms, got my my boots from the vanguard guy. Now level them back up, drop down to lvl 25 with new equipment got to get back to 26 and beyond.

you can toggle factions when ever you want. so it's possible to max them all out and nothing resets
