Yeah, now that you mention it. Lot of kick-ass women in Korra.
"Most of their market". A network won't change it's target demographic for one show and sometimes people overestimate the difference the adult fans make. Looking at My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, we all know there is a seemingly huge mass of adult fans who watch the show. But looking at the ratings, the adults are sizable, but the by far biggest chunk of the watchers are still kids, most of them in the hub's target demographic.
The problem I see with the networks is, that they are all primarily for children, with small windows for young adults. Little trust in what children can process an hard segregation between male and female viewers.

I'm ready. I finally saw the trailer to boot and liked the images, I just hope it comes together well.
They also need to a 26 episode format again instead of short 12-13 ones. Like it technically can be two airing season but the story needs to be 26 episodes for full development. 13 is way too shorter for satisfying development.

I like Korra and S3 lived up to the expectations I originally had for the series. But I'll be sad if it's the last Avatar-verse TV show we ever get. There needs to be a solid season or two with something of the caliber of ATLA before I'm ready to say goodbye...

As much as we harp on Nick at least they gave Bryke a chance. Cartoon Network would've axed Korra in the middle of season 2.

Looking at the clip, the animation quality seems so-so if you're looking at the characters in the background. They're just static.

Toph thought a young Kuriva how to bend platinum back in the day. Soon after, Kuriva went crazy. Korra gets locked up in some kind of underground dungeon, and that's where she finds a locked up Toph who's bending was removed by Amon. So basically Kuriva attacks Korra with platinum, which is something she can't bend.

Short haired Korra looks pretty cool and all but I doubt short haired avatar state Korra will look cooler than long hair avatar state Korra.
I mean there is just something about that look that's just intense.... Almost ominous. I doubt it will be beat in my eyes

I've been going through this in my head for a couple of days now, and I've noticed two things:
1) The animation still looks great, BUT, you're right, some background characters seem more static. Although,
2) There's A LOT more characters than in Book 1, both recurring and background, in each episodes. There's more citizens in Republic City, Zaofu, Ba Sing Se, armies, guards, and airbenders. I remember "Turning of the Tides" in Book 1, when the Equalist attack Republic City, and the I couldn't take my eyes off the streets and how empty they were. Amon was bombing the whole place, and there weren't even any cops or ambulances, or screams for that matter.
I notices they set most of the scenes in Republic City either at night or very early in the morning, probably to avoid having to animate people doing normal stuff or running around.
Now, in all three later Books, scenes are set up so that the amount of people we see on screen is believable in accordance with the situation, or more people are animated as background characters, but not as well done as in Book 1.
Well with Book 1 didn't it have a larger budget due to it being initially a one off mini series so that's always going to be a factor.
Still i've always quite liked the way they did the crowd for the Book 2 finale.

Haha, don't know if you're being sarcastic, but I actually prefer them to illustrate a bigger crow, however blurred it might come out, than jut having a dozen or so nicely detailed characters. Would make no sense, and that happened too much in Book 1.
