inb4 super avatar state in this season

Korra to go even further beyond?

I literally just made a post on another website about another character's recent actions ending off my post with "Dat confidence." So after seeing that post I got all confused and fumbled between tabs making sure I posted what I thought I posted and triple taking at your username to make sure it wasn't actually me and then I knocked my water bottle of my desk.

Thanks, Toa Tak

if kuvira is a disappointment i will self immolate

I don't know, this conflict (Metalbending nazis) just doesn't have the grandiose scale of something like Dark Avatar vs Avatar (as badly executed as that was).

Hopefully there's something else going on in this season.

I said the exact same thing before Season 3 (ala scale of Dark Avatar), and man was I wrong.

There always is. The trailer is composed mainly from just 4 or 5 episodes, less perhaps, so there's plenty we haven't seen.

We'll self immolate-- together.

Is that what this is supposed to be? I haven't read up on anything regarding the show (beyond wondering where the fuck my soundtracks are). But that would be a bit disappointing, Dark Avatar vs. Avatar was pretty big, and the Red Lotus were cool because of their misguided goals. I was hoping Kuvira would follow that trend.
Yeah, I know nothing about her, but I already love her character just from this gif.

Yup. I hope she makes a great antagonist this season, at least on the level of Zaheer.

I don't think it's metalbending nazis. I just think they were in the right time at the right place with the whole Zaheer thing and ended up being the biggest hereos in it. They helped stop Red Lotus, Helped free the airbenders and saved korra from the poison.

I just think it's more of a political thing where they believe they are whats best for the earth kingdom and beyond. I mean the Earth King was terrible back in ATLA, The queen in season 3 had no sort of insight and from that preview
the new kid looks like a little shit

Metal Clan just seem more focused and condition to be the flagship fighters of the Earth Nation and possibly beyond right now. It just makes sense.

I'm fucking dying over here

If anyone wants to make a zombie Korra or something for my bet I'd use it.

I'm kind of shit at Photoshop.
What was the bet?

That's definitely the vibe I'm getting from them. Earth Kingdom have had incompetent rulers before, and as in real life, once some general gets tired of dealing with that constantly, they're going to want a change via a coup. I'm interested in their motivations beyond that if there's any.

she's going to be bringing order to the world yall

My headcanon is that she was brainwashed by ex Dai Li agents or generals from the Earth Kingdom who saw an opportunity to take control through the Metal Clan. They tried to convince Suyin to take control, but she refused, so they turned to the promising young captain of her guard: Kuvira.

I think Kuvira and co. just noticed that the Earth Kingdom is never not fucked up and decided enough was enough

Big new interview about Book 4 from Bryan and Mike!

Some "spoilers" for those who simply don't want anything to be known. They explain that there's going to be a whole episode
devoted to Korra's journey between Book 3 and 4.

We devote a whole episode to Korra and her emotional and healing journey, beginning at the end of Book Three and following her recovery up to the start of Book Four. It’s one of our most unique episodes, storytelling-wise, and one I’m very proud of.

They also explain why they did the time jump and their interest in exploring different political ideologies with every villain and even with heroes.

Also, Seychelle Gabriel just tweeted that she recorded one of her last sessions for Book 4 today. They're still not done!

EDIT: 9 out of 10 in that quiz, and some were lucky guesses.

I'm ready.
haha perfect.

Nice to see we're getting a episode centred around Korra's Journey.
Interesting little bit about production.

To what extent were Books Two through Four conceptualized as one longer story rather than three shorter arcs? Did that change your ability to react to how individual parts of the show were turning out as production went on?

DiMartino: From the start, Legend of Korra was conceived to have stand-alone seasons with a new villain each time, rather than the three-season arc of The Last Airbender. We had no idea when we began how many seasons we would have, but once we got the green light for the second batch of 26 episodes (which make up Books Three & Four) we knew we could weave in more connective tissue between the seasons, while still keeping them separate stories. The biggest thread linking them is what happens in Book Two when UnaVaatu unleashes spirit vines on Republic City. Those spirit vines play a big role in the final season! Also, we were able to see Korra’s character arc through to the end. She still has a lot of healing to do and some soul searching before her journey is finished.

6/10 I have failed the fandom.

Great interview, too. Those Vines, though, they were featured in the clip, so I'd assume they're being set up for something.

9/10! Hell yeah!

I was actually guessing most of the time, since I really can't remember how Ghazans Tatoo looked, how many stones Zaheer threw and I didn't even remember any names for these places in the spirit world. My men's intuition helped.

Did you bet, that Korra dies and comes back to Voodoo bending?
