I solo them too and found out the hard way by just trying to rush through the lower level. Not a huge deal, of course, as they refresh each day.

What's the trick with heroic bounties?

Depends on the mode.

In PvE I use "farther and faster" and one single huge ball that I can hurl and the void grenade stays in one spot and burns anyone in it.

In PvP I split the nova bomb into 3 (covers a huge fucking area) and have the grenade seek.

Sunsinger:
PvE burn continuously inside grenade.

No self-res unless I'm in nightfall or raid. If I'm not self-res then I ignite and burn for longer.
 
Sooo, I have 15 coins and I have a Warlock that I almost have fully leveled the Sunsinger subclass.

The gloves are good (sunbreakers)? I don't have any exotic armor so far and my current gloves are blue.

Also, any recommendation on a good Sunsinger skills? I've been playing around testing stuff but hey, any tip would be appreciated.
 
So with all this talk of the rarity of raid armor drops, I guess I should be thankful I got those gloves last night? I just noted the raid-specific perks-- those will come in handy but it's going to take me a long while to unlock them.
 
Did anyone actually get to a high enough Queen reputation to buy a weapon?

Seems like you'd have to complete every bounty every day to get to a Level 3 rep. And her bounties are a serious pain in the ass.

Have a high level person join you and breeze through it. Like if I'm on earth and for some reason I'm having trouble with a mission that's for level 7s and I'm level 5 or 6, see if you can find someone who has a bounty that require them to kill fallen/hive. That's one idea.

Basically, I'm trying to figure out the fastest way to hit 20 in the current state of the game.
 
How come I've never seen Karrhis before in all this time? I must have been to that room to take out Vandals and Servitors literally dozens of times. Mission was called Troll Patrol and made it seem trivial (Fallen have been harassing Guardians in the area). Yep, Bungie trolled hard there, I'm level 29 and his surprise attack had my shields in the red and beeping when I was happily popping heads of any vandals I could see.

Queen reputation seems to be glitched and doesn't go up, but I only do her easy bounties for XP.

But I thought in PvE that your damage scaled if you were in a lower-level area than your character is leveled

Probably having a full fireteam of 6 splitting patrol missions on a planet if possible

I'd like to use the appearance of a helm I got at level 7 in my endgame set, because I like the way it looks.
 
Just got a Legendary Pulse rifle with the full auto upgrade. Anyone tried it on a pulse rifle before?

Oh okay. Yeah I will probably start an alt this weekend. Truly dredge the unskippable cutscenes (who does unskippable cutscenes these days?) though.
 
Sorry Xur, but I think I'm gonna pass on you this week. Red Death is cool and all, but I'm holding out for a hand cannon. I may buy the Vangaurd one when I get enough marks.

It is, but not severely. You're still pretty overpowered. This is why people prefer doing all sorts of farming on earth at higher levels.

This is efficient for rep, but I think you have to be in close proximity to get XP.
 
Just started an alt Titan and was able to equip the defender subclass as soon as I started. I thought I'd have to be lvl 15 to unlock that... is it because it's an alt?

You can skip the awful post mission scenes if you orbit during the countdown.

Nothing you can do about the awful pre-mission ones or the occasional FOREVER LONG in-mission ones.

It's a good helm for Defender builds. If you're considering the engram, always make sure to buy it first of the two.

Some kind of method for PvE-only players to get Faction gear, at the least, is needed. Crucible marks can literally only be obtained in PvP at the moment and that's a shame

Actually, faction vendors should just accept either Vanguard or Crucible marks for their wares, just like they get all sources of reputation.

I'd like to see orbit eliminated in favor of the Tower becoming the hub in which you launch game types for your party. Along with the name displayed above your head, the activity you've chosen along with your fireteam size (ex. 2/3) could be displayed. It would then be easy for others that have an interest in said activity to join you and no (obnoxious) proximity chat would be required.
 
Anyone else for the raid right now? We got 3 slots left. Would like this to be a full GAF run. No experience required, I'll teach you the fights. Mic is preferred. -PSN is Unstabieh2o -PS4
