I'm in a bit of a predicament. I'm lvl 22 (35 light) and have rare chest, arm, legs, but green helm. I have just enough marks that I could buy the purple vanguard helm which would bump me to lvl 24 and then I could do the queens missions. But I'm not sure I should buy the helm since it's a queens mission reward. I could buy the vanguard arms and legs but wouldn't get nearly the light level boost that the helm would give. What would you do?

I was in a similar situation as you just last night. I was a level 21 and kind of stuck. A friend of mine who is level 24 and I decided to give a Queen's mission a try. It took us some time, but we beat one and I got the legendary chest piece. It took me to level 22. We tried another Queen's mission and beat it and I got the legendary helmet. That took me to level 23 and I'm one light value away from 24.

If you have a level 24 or higher to play with, do the Queen's mission to get the legendary gear. I think it's the easiest guaranteed way of getting legendary armor without buying it.

Any tips on how to do the PVP portion of the Thorn bounty?

I used a void fusion rifle as my secondary and since Im a warlock i switched to voidwalker and made sure to use the grenades. Didnt take terribly long either. 4-6 matches and I was good to go.

Yeah I went down that path with private Hudson on Monday. I didn't see any chest. It seems weird that they would put a crazy path there if it didn't have any purpose. But I wouldn't be surprised if this was just a photoshop hoax since nobody has really confirmed it I guess.

Maybe a dumb question but why does the class make a difference as far as choosing a primary?

It doesn't always, but it makes a huge one in the specific case of the question being asked.

Thorn is an exotic well-known for a unique DoT effect, currently hamstrung by both a small magazine and achingly long reload time. In PvE especially when "more than 6 shots during an encounter" is every encounter, this is a huge liability.

Enter Chain of Woe

Precision Kills or headshot kills increase the weapon's reload speed for 15 seconds. The buff stacks up to 3 times. Each stack gives +20 to Reload.

Suddenly the gun looks a lot different in PvE and precision kills should be what you're getting with Hand Cannons anyway. But that's a subclass ability, available only to Gunslingers. Don't think I left anything out, just let me know if still confused.

Just got The Lord High Fixer legendary hand cannon in a random drop. Pretty nice handgun but it just can't replace a fully upgraded raid void AR or raid solar scout. Hand cannons in PvP are fun as shit though so I'm hanging on to this dude.

well i've been wearing it for at least a week now and it's been consistently dropping more engrams than i noticed before. unless they secretly tweaked engram drop rates or there's some other condition i'm meeting, i'll keep on believin'

they'd be doing me a favor though if it was a heap of bogus. i'm not fond of how it looks

They're not farmable as such, the closest would be public events.

The only guaranteed way to get them is to break down legendary or exotic armor; you can buy armor with marks just to dismantle. Your daily story each day will give you either 2 energies or 2 shards at 24.
