Even getting to 28 can take an eternity. I'm at level 27, all my gear is legendary and all upgrades are unlocked, but I just have 3 shards currently.

you don't need to enter the instance to do the 200 kills for that bounty.
- load up Nightfall on Mars
- hug the right wall when you spawn until you get to a big circular door
- head through until you get to Firebase Rubicon
- kill the lv28 mobs for progress and you're allowed to die/respawn at that area
The extreme truth of this statement is best illustrated by the fact that I involuntarily exclaim "Nice!" when killed by a particularly good throw.
I'm one upgrade from 28 and looking hard for ass shards. Only thing I can think of is buy crucible gear to DE very week.

Yeah, it took a while to get there for me too. It was a little easier since I have a Legendary chest and raid gauntlets. I just hope I don't have to waste too many shards upgrading stuff that I will have to swap out later if I want to hit 30.

Yesterday on Earth patrols waiting for public events I found a crate with 2 blue engrams, then had a purple engram while killing low level mobs on Forbidden Shore. Took them to the tower and got a legendary assault rifle from one of the blues (don't remember the name but it sucks so it's getting broken down today), and a legendary fusion rifle! Just hanging out on Earth!
I also got another sniper from the Queen's missions. This one with arc damage I think.

I'll need to get back into the raid to get legendary raid gear for my arm and chest. Got 12 Legendary/Exotic gear pieces in my vault or in my inventory, so that should provide me with plenty of ass shards. The Road to 29 and eventually 30 is underway.

I say "random loot" my ass. Everything in this game happens in streaks. I'll get a couple of legendaries in a day then I'll get nothing for 2 weeks. Then I'll get legendaries again for one day and the cycle continues

What primary type do people like for the raid?
I HIGHLY prefer ARs, but i will use hand cannons when i get bored.

My pocket infinity is definitely my new baby i wanna use it all the time. Is an automatic Solar fusion rifle gonna be helpful inside of the Raid area? or do i need to bring my Wizard instead....

I think I'm destined to never get a chance to raid. I don't have many people on my friends list who play the game so I posted on the destinylfg and the raid group. I get invites but can't accept them because they went to the PSN black hole. Same thing happened last weekend. I'm basically stuck on level 28 with nothing to do thanks to PSN.

Also a worthy Raid weapons question - My Lord High fixer is my constant companion Main weapon .. should i keep the explosive bullets or change it out for a higher bullet count for the raid?

A way to get around the friend request bug is to have people invite you to a party. Then once you're inside you can hit options and join session to join that person's fireteam. Unless you're bug is accepting all invites including party invites. Hopefully that's not the case

I really wish we could customize our controls in this game. I like using Jumper, but I want melee on the right bumper. I'd rather have grenades on right stick instead of melee. And I don't know what it is about this game, but clicking the left stick to sprint is ruining my controllers. Never had that problem in other games. I wish I could assign it to a face button like Bumper Jumper in Halo.
Ideally, Destiny wouldn't have ADS or sprint at all and those two buttons would be freed up for better uses.

Almost level 28, friends are 27 & 25, still unable to make it very far in a Nightfall. Bought a legendary Arc sniper last night and still couldn't get to the 3 guards. The first couple centurions (I think, the ones that shoot rockets) with the solar shields kept killing us. everytime their shield would go down they'd just hide and kill us when we tried going after them. After several tries we just gave up and spent the rest of the night doing strikes earning nothing but blue junk. Do you guys typically have someone in the party use a weapon to drop their shields then the others kill or are you swapping between weapons on the fly do do both?

Raid done. First hour to Atheon. Second hour on atheon. We got sync and connection problems. Got a suros. Already had mine maxed. Got legendary shiny warlock bond, and the fancy white coloring. Also, only shards. No energy. Godamit.
