PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

Thanks for all of the input, guys. I finally broke down and ordered a Japanese Slim in white. Estimated delivery is on the 9th.

Persona 4 Golden, my case, and screen protector will all be here on the 8th to tease me.

You did buy a mem card as well, I hope.

TotP: Buy Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus. Support Life! And Hometown too, I guess.

Soooo, what's the chances that Blitworks/Mossmouth are actually going to fix Spelunky now that the new FW update broke it graphically? I mean, it's entirely playable until you die or if you want to check log entries and the like.

Seems like something that should've been caught by someone not me... and something I should've gotten a response to my tweet about... :\

Whoa, whoa, Senran Kagura is out in NA?

Well, that one day wait can be used to watch the P4 Anime to see what the first few hours are like :). It is solid, not amazing but still a very enjoyable one (the best part of it is the middle part....really funny stuff happens XD).

Glad you are getting a Vita; you will love your system man :). If you have PS+ and have been 'buying' the PS+ Vita games, you should have a huge library of games right out of the box to play :D. If you had Plus since last year, check out Sonic Racing, Oddworld Strangers Wrath and Rayman Origins. Yes, they are all ports of the PS3 version, but they run great on Vita and are amazing games :).

I've watched a couple of episodes of the animation and it is pretty good. I've only had PS+ for one month, but I can't wait for all the free games and deals. I've actually played those three games on my PC and they are great, but sadly I only got the free games for August. Guess I can look forward to the October games. I always wanted to play Rainbow Moon.

I didn't buy a memory card yet, but I'm probably going to get one when I get paid again on Friday. I'll probably only be playing P4G until then, anyway.
Also I've been waiting to see that gif forever. :3

Get a 64GB one. You will thank me later.

Sorry man :(, you missed out a a few games X(. At least you got some great ones from August :D! Dragons Crown, Metrico and Sly 4 are awesome games :D.

....You gotta get a memory card though :l. Even though they are stupidly priced....they might as well be mandatory for the Vita :(. The best deal for a MC has to be a 32GB card, which if you find a good deal, can be around 60 bucks (70 bucks if you get a refurbished one from GameStop or something).

The good thing is that the version of the Vita you got has 1GB of internal memory :), so you don't have to worry about save files and even some of the smaller PSN games for a bit (for example, you can put....maybe one or two PSN games alongside having enough space for some game saves).

Hope you enjoy your Vita though :D. Before you know it, you will own at least 50+ games for the thing just within a month alone XD.

Weird, it's working fine for me.

Dunno why Bandai Namco is going multi-platform when PS3 is trending downwards. Maybe this will afford them a localization not made in Asia ...

So it's ALO uh... I feel like if there's anyone who can make the ALO good is these guys lol. Here's hoping that either Asia gets another english version of the game or that Namco smartened up after seeing how much support HF got, and releases this in english AND physically too.

I don't know any Japanise at all, so I have no idea what the text in the link in your post even means XD!

Still though.....didn't think they would use AFO for the setting :l. Really, really hope they don't use the story from the light novels/anime....that was just, so horrid X(. I'm betting that the story set up will be after the events of Hallow Fragment. Krtio, Asuna, and everyone from the game moves on to AFO to check out a new VRMMO to replace SAO (as that was cleared and everyone got 'free' from it). I guess....the 'captive' in this game will be Strea or Yui (
both were part of SAO's systems, so them getting trapped in AFO as captives makes some kind of sense :l)
. Though I hope they don't go that route and just have it be for fun :).

I mean, they all love playing MMO's....so everyone playing AFO for fun seems reasonable with no major bad guy (just a few friends having fun in a MMO :)).

Either way, it will be interesting to see what happens, so I can't wait to see more of the game :D. The fact this is also getting a PS3 and PS4 release (common, all the JP developers did this during the Pre-TGS show, so I wouldn't be shocked to see this happen with this new game too) really ensures it coming to NA and EU :D.

Edit: So it seems this will have a compltely new story then the anime....sounds good to me :D. The world of AFO was interesting and cool, it was only the story that dragged the whole thing down :(. So, remove the shitty story and replace it with something stronger and we have what the original anime SHOULD have done with this section of the series :).

You mean through the webstore or the actual vita system? Cuz EU PSN did have Vita game pre-orders like Tearaway.

NA PSN doesn't have preorders for Vita

you mean pay for a good localization company in Asia
(i don't think whether the localization is good or bad is dependent on the region it's made in. bad localization is more reflective of the company, rather than the entire region. I actually think that Asia (particularly Singapore/Malaysia) is good for localization since a large portion of the population is multi-lingual)

Are my eyes deceiving me or did I actually read "Flying is possible" in there! o_o
edit: yep misread, says flying is possible in alfheim online, doesn't say anything about flying in the ps3/vita game.

There's still like an hour left before they even show it on stream, surprised they announced it early.

edit 2..
Oh my god. The trailer is up and it shows flying.

Yeah, I'm already afraid of owning too many games...

If they intended to put an effort in localisation, wouldn't a PS4 version make more sense than a PS3 version?

Not really, if they didnt have a team who could work on the PS4. As in the actual team behind the game.

That and sides, most of the fans currently would already have a PS3 over a PS4. So most def there would be more sales domestically on a PS3.

Its not like folks ran out to get a PS4 here.

You cant think of the situation in Japan the same as the US / West since its not. Folks here for the most part dont really give a shit about the PS4 at the moment, since there isnt much to play on it. Most of the titles are multi-plat anyways which is why people are just sticking with the PS3 at the moment since there is no reason to upgrade for a system that has a rather small library at the moment. Its going to a take a while and a lot more titles first before more people start to buy into it.

I meant that if they made a console version because of the western market, a ps4 version would make more sense. I know that the PS4 is doing horribly in Japan

"Watch the anime" is the only thing to say about this.

And while you're at it, go and watch Baccano.

I'm surprised to see someone remember Baccano.

Localization isn't for the western only, though. There is also Asia market, and not many people over here have upgraded to the PS4.

Can't blame the Japanese for not buying the PS4 either. I'm starting to get tired of this "Diablo 3 machine". Most of Japanese PS4 games are coming out in 2015, meaning the soonest we will have the English version (if they even exist) is late 2015 or even early 2016. Thinking about that saddens me a bit.

waste of resources just for a separate region even more so when potential sales would not be numbers to recoup costs. On top of that bannam damaged their rep with the lesser hardcore fans who are needed to make sales numbers by having released a shoddy product at full price localization wise and have yet to make any real statement on it.

due to that it will further effect sales of a future product.

if the business side is smart they would know this also and not make any sort of ps4 version due to the calculated risks involved. for the west that is.

if they are not making a domestic version chances of a localized one would be even more slim.

this is from a realistic assessment of the situation present and future.

not sure if they would risk splitting it into three platforms domestically also. since that is another large financial risk domestically. as there are costs to making each version and by splitting the product up into 3 parts lessens the sales potential esp if any are more stable than the others then what happens is an uphill fight for the better one trying to pull the weight of the others and realistically we all know the chances of that working out is slim.

while i dont believe they have done it with anything yet would think they might consider an omochidashi pack packaging the ps3 and dl version of the vita one together. good way to have both versions into the hands of fans and by doing that they can print a lower number of vita versions allowing for some costs and risk to be shaved off.

I need to spend 50 bucks on PSN to take advantage of the spend 100 get 15 back promo. PRoblem is, I am too cheap to buy anything digital without a sale, and there isn't anything on sale I really want. Bummer.
