Looks like Driveclub PS+ Edition might not be coming today

Probably something along the lines of "We're selling better than Xbox One, what are you going to do about it?"

I've lost all interest in this game over the past year, I did wanna checkout the PS+ version just to see what its like, but I see that famous SCEA incompetence strikes again. Oh well, I'll just play forza horizon 2 then.

Any contributions besides ad hominem attacks? If you accept the situation, fine, but could you atleast explain why?

I accept the "situation" because I'm an adult. If you own a PS4 and subscribe to PS+, you're getting, at minimum, 24 games for $50. You're paying $2 a year per game (less so really if you're buying things at discount regularly). The choice of games is- I'm guessing- subject to change, correct?

I think PS+ is ultimately a great deal, which is something that seems pretty universal. To call customer service over the third "free" game this month not being updated as soon as you would like it seems somewhat petty.

I don't know if it's an age thing, or maybe because I'm just not the prototypical hardcore gamer, but I think a little perspective is needed. The sun will rise tomorrow, I'll go to work, and if I come home and Driveclub is available, I'll download it. If not, I'll wait til it does.

So Sony had to do this before, so that the complaints are justified? Heh?
Well...yeah. There are flukes. If a company consistently provides what their service advertises, and then something happens (whatever that is)...they would generally get a pass for a minor delay in providing that service. I suppose how you would rate PS+ in this way, would dictate whether you agree or not.

Maybe some of yall could spend the time trying out Pix the cat.. It's pretty fun!

I thought we knew PSN had a built-in delay for releasing racing games. Remember Wipeout HD coming out close to midnight, or GT5(?) not releasing in Europe until the day after the update? It's a minor miracle the paid version of Driveclub went up on time, and a clear indication Sony's improving.

;)

Lol meltdowns over not getting a free game as soon as you'd like

Man

It's like everyone reverted back to 2nd grade and are pissed at mom and dad if they can't go to blockbuster or something. Some downright amazing overreactions in here.

Some peeps need to sit back, take a breath, drink some booze or smoke some bud if it's legal where you are and rrreeeelllaaaaxxxx lol

Boy, that's actually a good one to bring up. Too bad it's tech support, where soccer moms and ex-Circuit City employees go to nod their head and drool out the corners of their mouths instead of listen to consumer complaints

Wow, you come off as the biggest asshole in the universe.

The way Sony handles PSN (release times, etc...) has been my main problem with them since the PS4 was released. I love the system but they REALLY need to get better at this. They've fixed a lot since the PS3 but this whole ordeal is ridiculous.

They said it would be out with the other PS+ games and it isn't. That's wrong of them. Plain and simple. Be it that they are holding back until the server issues are resolved or whatever. Completely understandable problem but it's not out when it was advertised to be out.

When I order packages off Amazon I'm almost always tempted at checkout, even with prime, to hit the overnight shiping button that would cost me several dollars more. However, I always find a way to stop myself when I ask, "do I really need this tomorrow?". The answer of course is no, I dont. It will ship when it does and will arrive within a reasonable time table. The same logic applies to these games for me. Does it really matter that the game didn't show up early this morning? No. Because it'll be there soon, and I will play it until it gets boring a few weeks later. Sometimes the pull of something new and shiny makes people irrational and overly angry.

If only we could have a system where Sony handles the hardware side of things and MS handles the online stuff.

Not a good look for Sony right now if this doesn't drop today or this week. Despite the bad reviews, people still want to play the game.

Sony is failing big time with this release. Come on now, maybe some people will call me a troll, but I'm being honest... After 1 year of delay, promoting this game with a free PSN version for Plus subscribers and promising to release it on October's IGC they just fail AGAIN? I mean, even after those bad scores?

Maybe I'm overracting, but that sounds stupid to me. They're burning their credibility already. Just give us what was promised a long time ago! I wanna try the game before jumping in the full version, and I won't just pay for anxiety sake.

Can we just add this post to the OP? Amen, fluff.

They were probably hoping that a bunch of 9.5 and 10 reviews would be out today and make the wait more of a "OMG I need to play it now!!" thing rather than people now just being even more down on a game that's getting mixed to middling reviews.

People defending Sony over this are ridiculous.

It's 10pm on the east coast now - that's not "today" for most people on a week day (particularly counting download time) because, surprise, surprise - most of us work (well, those of us that don't work on the PSN Store in NA work anyway).

The fact of the matter is that the PSN store in NA has been run by a bunch of buffoons for years and for some reason SCEA doesn't care and SCE as a whole doesn't seem to want to do anything about it by making examples out of any of the idiots that are apparently in charge of it.

It's hurting their brand and it's hurting the software that's affected by the incompetence of the people that they have running the operation.

Between the incompetence on the store and the incompetence in the PS4 firmware development team and the fairly lousy WWS output thus far we can only hope MS pulls out some NPD wins through the holidays so that maybe Sony will start giving a shit about actually doing right by their customers.

I don't give a shit about the Driveclub delay (mostly because I'm in Europe where it's not supposed to be out yet), but your post sums up how I feel about Sony's last year. After the incredible year of PS+ on the PS3 and Vita in addition to the amazing PS4 hype and wonderful launch, it feels like they've run out of gas or something, and I can feel my opinion starting to turn a bit.

The store updates are a mess, and the firmware should not still be without any way of organising content a year after launch. Get your fucking shit together, Sony.

And people who paid for PS+ and relied on Sony's advertising regarding the availability of the game have every right to be annoyed, though it's not yet a refund situation. The amount of corporate apologists in every thread like this always astonishes me. Really though, it's the lack of communication rather than the delay that is the issue. Delays happen, so what. But one line explaining why would defuse people's frustration immediately, and stop people from checking every ten minutes if it's out yet.

I wish they would at least a bit more forthcoming with information. Could have saved me some time and frustration if they told us the PS+ version was coming later. I give these companies enough of my money, now they're wasting my time.

It's 7PM over there though. The original estimate was by 6PM PST, which already went by an hour. Still, there's some hope I guess.

Oh, I had just read 7PM PST, so 10PM where I am.

Still I was just hoping the servers going up and the plus edition would be hand in hand. Wishful thinking I know.

That is your choice. Others choose different. Can you, to paraphrase a wise man, accept it like an adult or will you keep complaining?

This.

I don't understand why people are freaking out.

It's not a free game.

I know PS+ is a good deal but it's a service we pay for. At the very least they should be upfront about things. This would not even be an issue if they actually communicated with their costumers.

I was planning on playing it tonight, then based on how much I liked it, buying it tomorrow on the way home from work. Damn you, Sony. YOU'VE DELAYED MY PLANS FOR THE LAST TIME!!!
