Two announcements?!?!? Ayesha Plus is coming to Europe!?!?!!?
tumblr_mhkstkEGqj1r892d5o2_400.gif

What if Ar nosurge Plus, Ciel nosurge and Neptunia U are getting announced for the west/EU......

I don't want a refund for Joe Danger on Vita... I just want it to work.

Fucking every time I cross the finish line on training stage 3, the game crashes and does an error report... then when I go back to the game, it says my save was corrupted and I have to start over.

Bitching to CS isn't going to do anything.

Neptunia U is coming, it's just a matter of when they announce.

What, are you saying that it's wrong of them to specify PSTV compatibility in front on the box?

No, that it's super ugly and could easily be stuck on the back of the box like all the other technical info

I strongly disagree, this is an important detail. PSTV-only owners looking at the boxes on shelves need to know which games are relevant to them.

As for "ugliness", not really. Doesn't really affect the boxart. It's not like it's a USK rating notice or something.

It'll probably last as long as the Vita does, which is to say, not very :(

I don't really think Sony will discontinue Vita any time soon, they just won't make a follow up. They have little incentive to discontinue it with lots of people still making games and it still being a nice PS4 accessory.

Whatever happened to that blue label PS3 redesign anyway? Did they abandon it because they realized how confusing it can be when looking at PS3 and PS4 games side by side on a store shelf?

I had a similar problem last night as well with FF7. I tested Vagrant Story as well which I had played a lot of previously with no problems but it was stuttering during the intro. I think it was because I had a download running; paused the download and the stuttering went away. I've never noticed it before. I'm wondering if the problem came with the latest FW update.
I had a download going as well, even after my download was done I was still getting stuttering.
I reset my Vita and rebuilt the database but nothing helps.

I'm guessing it is the latest FW patch.

Have you changed the disc load speed?

I had it on fast and I changed it to normal, I still have the same problem.

Not buying is a better way to show them that I want a physical version.

Not buying a bag of potato chips does not in any way inform the company that you actually would buy the potato chips if they were in a differently colored bag.

If anything, purchasing the digital version day 1 would indicate to them there is enough demand for a physical release for their next game.

Which is pretty sad considering that it's not that hard to support a series you like with just a simple signature.

You aren't doing the company any favors signing up for something you're not going to buy though. A failed physical release is a huge expense and might cause them not to release something down the line that actually would sell.

Agreed. If anything, I see them releasing one built with remote play specifically in mind in a year or two, if the remote play statistics they have make it seem viable. I would double dip, and I'm sure others would double/triple dip. Engineering would be a relatively low expense compared to a brand new handheld, though you'd still need to retool manufacturing and such... so it's a long shot, but... maybe?

Is Indiecade starting today, if so is there any chance that we'll get some Vita announcements out of it?

I saw sunless sea for the first time today and I would love if it would come to the Vita. I have asked them on twitter but they have not responded yet ;)

Someone is going to buy the copy he signed for, a physical release is always going to sell more than a digital-only one.
And no, this is the fourth atelier they localize on the vita, it's obviously profitable. If Ayesha gets a physical release that isn't profitable they'd just go back being digital-only for the following games.

Oh and this is even more stupid because A LOT of people didn't buy the PS3 version because it wasn't dual audio.

Great to know that Minecraft Vita is coming so soon (next week); many waited a while for that one :D. While I'm not getting it right away (as I never played the game before), it is nice it is coming to Vita :).

Regarding upcoming games, which one are you guys the most excited for?

For me....it is only with the PS3 side right now :(; I have so many games on my Vita so far, the extent of getting more games for the thing is going to be 50 bucks in PSP/PS1 games I want but still didn't get yet (J&D: Lost Fronter, Midevil Resurrection, UG&G, Power Stone Collection, Parisite Eve 1/2, Tomba 1/2, Resident Evil 2, LocoLoco 1 and 2, Patapon 1/2, ect). The rest is KH 1.5 and 2.5 HD (Can't wait to FINALLY play Birth By Sleep :D!) and Persona 4 Arena Ultramax.

So why didn't just that person sign the petition then and the reason to why the games "obviously' are profitable could perhaps have something to do with the lack of a retail version?

Do you have proof that it's not going to be profitable if it's physical? Do you know how many people would buy it if it wasn't a 3gb digital-only game?

Who? What are you talking about?

It's weird. I've bought 14 PS3 games that released this year, and only two of them (Drakengard 3 and Deception IV) have the blue cases.

I thought that maybe the publishers would release a retail copy of the game if they believed that it would sell enough.

I might have mixed things up or missed a vital detail in the conversation.

I read it as:
Person A signs a petition to get a boxed copy

Person A do not intend to buy that game, but have told friend x to buy it.

Why can't friend x write hes/her signature?

The Atelier Vita ports probably do well enough for Gust to take a few days to program in the existing translation. I'm not sure it's worth KT's time to do retail releases when they've already seen how both Atelier and Vita games sell.

This was their biggest opportunity to see the potential sales of a physical release for the series, I think they just don't care. They'd be out of their mind to think that Deception IV was going to be more profitable than Ayesha Plus but it still got a physical release.

I miss the days when it was NISA.

I don't think that person is on gaf and we don't even know if he signed at all, but the "if you don't care why are you signing?" argument is pretty silly. These type of things always reflect a tiny part of the potential sales, they're just used to see if there's enough interest.
The actual sales are always going to higher so what's the problem if people that signed are not going to buy it when a lot more people are going to just because they saw it on a store or somewhere else on the internet?

When companies like IFI, Aksys and NISA are basically always doing retail releases and manage to be profitable it's obvious that it's just a matter of being competent with the resources available. Some of the games got even stealth releases without prior announcements, they just don't care.

PSN really acting horrible at the moment. Friends list won't show up, can't start party, can't read messages, can't connect to anyone in Diablo 3.

PSN is garbage. I can't believe I'm paying for this junk. This is much worse than anything I encountered on PS3.

They said the maintenance next week is for backend improvements. They do need to start using AWS or something scalable though.

USB? Wi-fi? It's a Vita.

Where does the male micro-USB go into the PSTV? for the PSTV I only see a female USB port. I also wanted to use the PSTV to develop a game on Unity for PlayStation Mobile and as far as I know you need a USB to transfer your packages to the Vita D:

Wifi should work fine. Unsure if USB A to USB A cables would work for it (those are fairly uncommon but in theory not really any different than any other USB cable).

something like this?

Yes, but I'm not sure if it works. I'm just assuming it because I never heard of any issue so far, but maybe people just use wifi and didn't even notice.

"PlayStation TV compatible"

...
Get rid of one tab stick another on, I swear.

Wish they went the sticker route like Nintendo did for the 2DS, or at least redesigned the banner to accommodate both. Fucking nearly a decade since upsetting their dominance has made them terrible about sticking tabs on covers. Though given the Online logos on some game covers I guess SCEA's always been shit about mucking up covers.

Are you sure of that? I think it should work anyway.

Well, use a standard usb cable.

USB Host and Peripheral modes are very different. The Vita connection to PC is using Peripheral mode, whereas full-size ports are usually Host only (and we know the one on the PS TV is meant for Host functionality).

Do you have proof that it's not going to be profitable if it's physical?

Not that you're talking to me, but the only evidence I have of that is that the company decided against doing so. If a given company thought it would be profitable to do a physical release, they likely would do so. While not concrete proof, it's certainly damning. I realize some people desperately want physical releases, but there are others (like me) that have fully converted to digital on Vita.

Add in all the extra overhead (design, production, manufacturing, distribution, vying for very limited shelf space, etc) and removal of layers of middlemen, it's truly no surprise more and more niche titles are digital only.

This was their biggest opportunity to see the potential sales of a physical release for the series, I think they just don't care. They'd be out of their mind to think that Deception IV was going to be more profitable than Ayesha Plus but it still got a physical release.

I think you're looking at it wrong. The sales of Deception IV (or any other game that failed to meet expectations) is likely why they aren't putting more physical releases out. Should they have picked another game? Sure, obviously, if the one they did pick didn't meet expectations. But that doesn't change the fact that generally speaking a sane company doesn't throw good money after bad, even if fans think they should.

I don't think that person is on gaf and we don't even know if he signed at all, but the "if you don't care why are you signing?" argument is pretty silly. These type of things always reflect a tiny part of the potential sales, they're just used to see if there's enough interest.

And clearly there isn't enough interest. See the issue? So how does faking interest help anyone? Your belief that 'someone' will buy any extra copies will not convince retailers or accountants. Besides, wouldn't your reasoning mean even something like Deception 4 (or pick any other niche game) would have sold well?

I find this funny for some reason. People couldn't see the giant "3" in PS3?

The problem is that a lot of people buy games as gifts, they're not quite aware of what number Sony is up to. They see it says Playstation, the box looks just like the previous game you bought for the kid... why wouldn't it work?

Ah true, I didn't even think of that.
