If you want to think about it on a chemical level, Earthbending is the control of solid particles (though not all), waterbending is the control of liquid particles (of H2O anyway), airbending is gaseous particles and firebending is energy (heat specifically). Of course, this all gets destroyed by the fact water benders can manipulate the heat of water to turn it into ice or steam, but it's the closest I could come up with. And again, it only applies to certain solids/liquids/gases, not all.

They've already gone cosmic a few times, and it seems like spirits tap into some more mysterious energy source. They could establish some new meta-element that allows for some wormholes or something.

So far Katara and Zuko have kind of just been in the background. The one thing going for Toph, is all the set up with Lin and Su. I mean...surely she must come back and be a big part in the end plot.

Kuvira's bending moves are so precise and on point, I love it. She doesn't do a single move that wastes energy. I liked Korra Alone, but I can't wait to see some more Kuvira action. Can't wait for her and Korra to fight.
