I signed up for the Pokémon Trainer Club.
I for sure thought they would require you to pre-order the game, but this is a pleasant surprise.

Any GAME with a Nintendo Zone. Alternatively:

From October 15, look for your code on the Nintendo Life website. A special section of the website will allow you to claim a code to redeem the Special Demo on the Nintendo eShop.

If you have purchased Pokémon X or Pokémon Y via Amazon.co.uk, Smyths Toys, ShotTo.net or the Nintendo UK Official Store you may receive an email with your code.

If you have already pre ordered Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire via Amazon.co.uk, *********** or the Nintendo UK Official Store you may receive an email with your code.

Claim your code at the Pokémon booth during the MCM Comic-con London (form October 24 to October 26).

Can I ask a quick question?

You say 'may', so does this mean even if you have preordered from those 3 places, there is a chance you still may not recieve an email containing the code.

Its fucking ridiculous that ShopTo are still banned on GAF.

They're one of the biggest game retailers in the UK, frequently get preorder retailer exclusives from multiple different publishers and haven't had a problem since the credit card issues that got them banned nearly a decade ago, which was via a third party CC authentication service anyway.
 
So you do have to pre-order to get a chance. I bought Y in Smyths but that was in-store as they didn't even sell most games online up until recently. Oh well, I'll try Nintendolife and see if I get lucky.

Wait wait wait wait, there are people streaming? Any place specifically, cause I'd love to watch some of it. Mostly cause now I see that NA is getting the demo and I'm super jazzed about it.

That stupOid place? I already tick that case when the mega stones for Pinsir and Scyther/Scizor I think (depending the version you were playing)? Well, they said that you had to do so if you were in Canada but I never recieved any emails. Never.

So, are we sure that's also the good way to get a code in Canada?

Well, yeah, at least for me. I was able to get the megastone from trainer club despite not clicking the "marketing email bla bla". Still weird lol
 
I think the best kind of demo is the one aimed only at the hardcore fanbase who were going to buy the game anyways, wasting resources on people who "might" buy the retail copy is just silly.

Seriously, I have no idea how I'm supposed to play this demo (UK'er) and its souring my thoughts on the full game tbh.

I agree it's stupid, but the UK has the most options by far if you want the demo. If you haven't pre-ordered it at any of the selected retailers, why not try going down to your local GAME tomorrow and check Nintendo Zone with your 3DS?

I got my pokemon but I never got the stone. Meh.

Anyway, I created a US account just in case (with a different email, of course).

If I receive more than 1 code, I'll share one here.

It is more how they refused to acknowledge that and only really said when they were backed into a corner is what I feel. There are rumors Shopto themselves were unhappy with the ban on GAF and tried to threaten GAF which probably means banned4lyfe. There is no evidence to support that rumor though.

Depends. Dpo GAME leave the Nintendo zone turned on? Can you pick up their Nintendo zone from outside the store? It has to be the GAME one, not just any.

Plus there is no guarantee it goes live at midnight.

I'd take the US approach of anyone who signs up for the e-mails gets it over here are 50 places you could get it from, each has limited supplies.
As for go to GAME. My local GAME stores are all over an hour away using public transport. I can't take that time out of my day (the nearest one would use up the entire morning). Also if people are in full time work they might only be able to get to a store at the weekend and who knows if they'll even have any codes left by then.
 
Oh man, I want to play the demo too! Send out those codes, Bergsala! I can't wait for the 16th :(

Spending hundreds of euros on Nintendo software each year isn't enough I guess, now I have to figure out which cock to suck to get access to a Pokémon demo?

Come on Nintendo.
 
Seeing these cutscenes I speculate the following:
You get the Latias/os during the game and can do flying then (maybe for Sky battles...can we kill these already?) but can't reach the legandaries and stuff. Postgame is when you get the megastone to go higher in the sky to reach those.
