Halo MCC: Halo CE footage in 1080p/60fps - IGN First

ehhhhh

This collection is quite literally the greatest thing to happen to this franchise since Halo CE first got released in 2001.

I cannot believe how "right" this game looks at 60fps. It's worth buying new hardware just to relive it in this form.

Seems like a little bit of framerate stuttering here and there in the video for CE's multiplayer. I'm sure it won't be atrocious, though.

And the spacing on the medal popups seem weird, but they offer three different flavors.
- Halo 3
- Halo 4
- Off

I'll throw on the Halo 3 medals and see how that treats me. I'm glad they're in there, though. Stat tracking is such a neat bonus of this series.

Pretty sure the bolded is from IGN's shit video player.

I'm sure video player was responsible for any stuttering. Framerate looked pretty flawless when I watched. Certainly, no dropped/repeated frames.

Exact same as the originals. If the original game supported split screen so will the MCC

Really? So we're getting 1080p four way split screen for some games? I've really been stoked about next gen due to the extra pixels for each viewport, and then all of a sudden most games have been dropping split screen entirely

Good lord that looks unreal.
So Ironic that the game('s) that will likely break this depressing hold Destiny has on me is this collection.

Oh man. No doubt it will feel vastly better to actually play, but I'll be damned if Halo CE doesnt look weird running in 60fps after playing the original version for so many hundreds of hours.

The Master Chief Collection is going to destroy my life.

There is no way this collection can suck.... is there?

I mean, it just can't. It seems too perfect, there's got to be a catch.

For SP? I think what you see is what you get. Going to be amazing, and there's no real chance of there being a "catch".

For MP- I'm still curious to see what happens with regard to netcode/server performance. That could be the "catch", if there is one.

This is my only concern too. Halo Anniversary's online co-op had massive problems, and I'm worried the game will suffer similarly here too.

Considering they are using dedicated servers... I really don't see how it could be worse than the peer-to-peer they have in the old games.

Werent the old games peer to peer and this game is dedicated servers?

MP on dedicated servers does not necessarily guarantee a better experience. Server performance and netcode still matter. See Battlefield 4 and Destiny for recent examples.

Halo CE only had online MP for PC, and network performance for it was never good. The netcode and even some of the weapon attributes for Halo 2, 3 and 4 were designed with mitigating host advantage in mind. I'll be curious to see what 343i has done to try and bring the networking from these games forward to 2014. That's all I'm saying.

I live in a cave, what's the MCC collection? All the Halo games in HD?

The original still look much better IMO. 60 fps is nice and all, but the lighting in the Xbox original version (especially in the part after we crash land on Halo) has something special to it. It's menancing and mysterious, yet enchanting.

its the Halo i plan to play primarily from the collection, and im sure im not the only one :)

I'll be on that SWAT playlist most often, or Halo 4. Yes I liked halo 4 and Halo 2 more than 1 and 3.

If this collection had Reach then I would've pulled the trigger for a Xbone without issues.

As it stands unless the money is there, then I may skip this unfortunately.

When it showed off Halo CE multiplayer I almost lost my shit. I had the biggest smile on my face the whole time. I NEED THIS NOW! D:

I cant wait, this collection is so epic. I love objective games bring on classic king of the hill, and CTF. I really cant believe its so soon yet your princess is on another planet.

Halo 2 was great

4 was awful

3 was pretty good, worse than 1 and 2

But opinions.
