I'm thinking there are boatloads of Halo fans who are waiting to buy an Xbox One just for this game, but have not yet done so.
Are you saying the XB1 is terrible or you have to put down the money for it?The catch is that you have to buy an Xbox One![]()
Never played any Halo before! This is my first Xbox and my friends never had an Xbox either. =P
The music. The pistol. The blood gulch. The 60fps.
I will buy the game even though I can't run it on anything yet.
You are my kind of consumer.
The multiplayer modes aren't even running classic and anniversary graphics modes together are they?

When is the preload going up on Xbox one???? I need it now!

I am so tempted to cancel my E3 pre-order to get it digital. Someone please talk me out of it. I need physical disk of this masterpiece.

Welcome to the party. Halo is easily my favorite FPS series. It has a very "solid" feeling to the combat unmatched by anything else out there. You'll see what I mean when you play it.
No other FPS makes the controller feel quite as good in your hands as Halo does.
P.S. If you want to fall in love with the series, don't play the campaign on Easy or Normal. Start on Heroic.

Now, serious question:
I've never been a devoted FPS online player, so I dont know in pratice how that "ping" thing will affect my experience. But the thing is, for some stupid ISP reason, even giving the fact that we have a MS dedicated server here in Brazil, my nearest recognised server is on central USA, what I believe return to me a ping value of 200~250ms. How much playable will this be for me? Should I assume that the online competitive multiplayer is pratically unplayable for me?
I'm like extremely excited for this game. But I fear for my online experience.
Always having halo ready in the HDD is priceless IMO
I'm honestly probably gonna buy it twice at launch. I have to support 343 for this. They gave us what we wanted and then some. They could have easily split this into at least two packages and they did not. I have to support this. Halo 1 and 2 hold the greatest multiplayer memories for me. Every fps I have played in my life has been training for this...just take both versions.
Not sure if it's the player or the game itself but this certainly isn't 60fps. There are constant dips. It's distracting as hell. I hope the final game is a bit more stable.
Edit: maybe it's the fact that there's too much stuff going on in my browser. Anyone know if there's a way to download the 1080p video from IGN's site? There doesn't appear to be a way from the link posted in the OP.
In general 200+ ping is not good enough to play competitive fps for my tastes.
But is it possible to have fun with it and play it smoothly, or will I clearly feel the lag?
I mean, I dont really care that much for a super precise response on my controls since I will play only for fun (never devoted too much time to get too good on a online FPS mode). So my biggest fear is that I will not be able to enjoy the multiplayer without feeling the lag or huge input delays. However I dont know how much the 200~250ms will affect it.
I cannot definitively say. It depends on the games netcode. 200+ is right on the unplayable edge when I am on PC. I am going to guess you will see players warping around the map from time to time. Since you are receiving updates from the server very late because of your high ping. I wish I could be of more assistanc. Sorry.
I wonder if they will have an option in the MCC interface to directly load Halo 5 when it comes out, that would be cool.I always buy physical but I'm seriously considering buying digitally. This collection will be played until the end of the Xbox one lifecycle.

The original files are virtually perfect 60fps so it is the player or connection. Likely the latter.

Looks good, however I'm still not a fan of those CEA elites. CEA looks really good, but the Elites are really off-putting for some reason. The flat top is very unusual. It's hard to describe, but it is the bad type of different. Loses the intimidating/alien feel, I suppose.
This game should be going gold within a week or two, right?
