Yeah no. I'm pretty sure we're in the opposite phase of "let's make phones super tiny" that happened before Smartphones. Phones will settle on a usable size again once the phablet trend is over.

Its not as if there aren't multiple options to buy below 5 inches phones on the market already.

There were rumours that this is meant to be releasing in 2-3 days right? Unsure whether to go for this or a Note 4. The Z3 is also very tempting simply because of the battery life.

This

Clearly Google lost the true meaning of Nexus please Program.

It supposed to be basic phone for programmer to use as base phone. Google now simply trying to chase apple fan.
I'm guessing you've never owned a Nexus One. Seems a lot of people hopped on the Nexus train when it started offering the best bang for buck. The Nexus One and Galaxy Nexus were upon release were not cheap handsets.

What a depressing few days. I remember 1 thing that used to make me feel better, tho. No mark in deference to Nexus.
As I posted in the official android thread: it looks really nice but let's see a picture of the back of the phone.

I for one would love it to be true, but I'm skeptical as well. With bigger screens, however, media consumption becomes a valid use and having a $30 option to add 64 GB of data is very appealing.

I don't care about SD card slot since that had become redundant these days when we have hundreds of gigabytes of storage on cloud, Spotify for music and Netflix for movies. Only thing that I'm looking forward to is the battery life. Nexus battery life sucks.

The Nexus 5 is hardly a comfortable phone to carry for long periods of time at its current size. I don't get what would compel Google to think bigger is better. If this all turns out to be true I'm starting to run out of upgrade options. Small hands, big problems.

Eh? Never had an issue with the n5 size

I've always thought that the screen to size ratio was bad on the iPhones, but that image really drives the point home. I understand the bottom bezel being so large due to the home button, but the top seems like a relic of 2011, not something you'd expect to see on a 2014 flagship phone.

Symmetry is pleasing to the eye.

Not sure mate, but I all the sites I been to say 15th of October so I am just waiting cause it is the 15th in here in oz.

You must have incredibly small pockets or incredibly skinny jeans. The N5 isn't exactly some massive brick.

EDIT: Oh, hands. Thought you meant carrying it around. Which people typically don't do in their hands.

A plus for the Nexus tablet was that it was so much more affordable than an iPad. Now it's essentially the same price. Or has this always been the case? I recall a friend purchasing the last Nexus tablet for ultra cheap.

Well I'll be looking forward to any reveals tomorrow. I've been using a 4.5 for too long. Can't even play Ingress on my phone. About time I got a proper upgrade :P

same price as the nexus 10. 100 bucks cheaper than the ipad. what more could you ask for?

all this tells me is that it's going to be expensive!

Actually not if it's launching at $50 on contract. The Moto X is $99 on contract and we know how much that phone is off contract. This is a cheaper on contract price so in theory off contract would be cheaper as well.

They were a lot cheaper, the new Nexus 9 seems to be the same price as the Retina iPad Mini. I'd easily sacrifice 1" to get Apple's iOS ecosystem.

I think Google is fucking up by going after the high end with Nexus devices. I always thought they were supposed to be "good enough" almost-at-cost cheap devices. Looks like they're changing that with the new devices...which I think is a misstep.

uhhh isn't the moto x like 500 bucks off contract? I'm betting this phone will be 400 minimum off contract, possible 450.

Yes, at this rate, it'll be around $500 on contract. The Moto X is $600, right?
