Kuvira better be in this next episode fucking up someone's day.

Or else I'm done with the show

ok I'm lying

nah for real she better be liberating some earth cities

I know I ask this in here every month or two, but what's happening with purchasing Season 3 and 4 on digital services (iTunes, Xbox Video, etc)? I own the first two seasons on Xbox Video and have avoided watching Season 3 and 4 since I'd rather watch it in HD and on my TV.

Season 3 and 4 are on iTunes, not sure about Xbox Video.

Bryan put this up on his tumblr today.

These are the images I made for the end of our NYCC panel last week. I know these have already made the rounds on the internet, but I thought I should share them here for posterity and for the folks who might not have seen them. Much to my surprise, even my improvised farewell/thank you speech was transcribed and shared along with the images, which was really nice. Here are those words as well, edited by me to correct what my mumbling likely made unclear for the transcriber and/or to represent what I meant to say:

"This is a really big deal for us. It’s been twelve years since we came up with this whole Avatar universe together. Avatar means so many different things to so many different people. To me, when I think of the creation of it, I just think of me and Mike sitting at my computer in this little house I rented in Burbank. And we would just share the keyboard and take turns. And just over the span of two weeks we cracked open this universe together. And twelve and half years later it’s just blossomed into something so huge. And it’s such a big part of our lives and people’s all over the world. These characters are real to us. Not in a delusional way, but in an emotional way. They really mean a lot to me and I know to Mike as well. And we just want to say thanks."

The panel and the signing were an amazing experience and a fitting sendoff for the show, even though I agree with Janet, PJ, and Dave: this show will live on, beyond the release of its final episode, for a long time. And a huge thanks to you guys for all the awesome letters and gifts. The ATLA/LOK fandom is an amazing international community of thoughtful, warmhearted humans.

Love, Bryan

Going to really miss this show when its finished.

For some reason it's available in the states but not in Canada. WTF?
Well you're in a bit of a pickle then as Nick doesn't really care about anyone outside the US. I'm pretty sure they just finished airing Book 2 in the UK.

This is the best episode ever already:

“You want to hug something go hug a tree, you’re here to work.”
— Toph

Oh wow.
Kuvira and her Army is there for the coronation.

Just finished the episode...

Wut? It wasn't bad, the writing was awesome and we finally got out of the introduction phase, definitely sets up the rest of the season. Dang it, an episode a week...

Oh, character development was great. I especially liked
Bolin and Mako's parting of ways over the Earth Empire. Wu's realization that he'd make a shitty king. That tease at the end with the spirit vines. What?!

And of course,
Toph.
Perfect.

I'm really tired. So I need to watch it again before writing anything in depth. But I thought episode was alright.

Well that was pretty good. Oh my god,
Toph is so damn awesome lol. Every scene she in I just end up smiling. And ah so Korra still has some poison in her, yeah that could definitely be a reason that she still a wreck heh. So Verrick is experimenting with spirit vines eh? This should go somewhere interesting. And good for Mako to get some sense into Wu. Good interactions with Mako & Bolin and Su & Kuvira too.

Yeah, this episode was more about
the characters and politics
, and
Toph's tough love (pun not intended). I was a bit more worried about the pieces of metal still stuck in Korra, afraid that all of her internal conflict would just be forgotten, but good thing Bryke now knows better, so Toph told her that only she could remove those traces of metal, if she still wants to be the Avatar.

Calling it right now:
Kuvira is trying to open up her own train-accessible gateway to the Spirit World.

I'm thinking it'll be
an energy source, but yeah, very intriguing. I loved Suyin and Kuvira's confrontation. Now we know what those scenes of Kuvira's army in Zaofu in the trailer are all about. Suyin will rebel against Kuvira.

Oh, and all hail
the Little King of Little Ba Sing Se. "This is Little Ba Sing Se and I'm the Little King here!"

Pretty decent episode.
Nice to see that Toph is the same old Toph I remember.
Should be interesting to see what Varrick is up to with those Spirit Vines i'm going guess same as Joeytj that's its some new form of energy.
Funniest part of the episode for me when Bolin comapared Kuvira to Korra. I can't stop laughing at that reaction.
And yeah Kuvira is starting an Earth Empire hmm i'll wait and see how this pans out.

I guess Toph did find her own spiritual self. It's a nice contrast with how much she made fun of the stuff Aang did. But personality wise, she's her same old abrasive self. Gotta love her.

Not as good as the last 2 but still pretty good. Obviously its just a setup episode so it needs to get through a lot.

I didn't think Kuvira would be so forward. Really interested to see how this all goes down. The fight between Mako and Bolin was great. Probably my favorite part of the episode. I'm really looking forward to Korra's big comeback. Thats gonna be an awesome moment.

I actually really liked Wu's voice here. When he got serious for a bit i thought he was quite good. I'd like to hear more of that.

Kinda wish we got more Fire Lord. It was weird to tease with one shot then dip out.

Also
Mako's reaction face was pretty damn great.

Nice to see that
Toph is OP as fuck now, assuming she wasn't lying when she said she could "see everything." She seems Bumi levels of broken now.

It's just a little annoying to me how they grew her up for the season 1 flashbacks but then now she's just Toph in an old lady body again.

I doubt she was lying. The stuff she was speaking about was the stuff Huu the Swamp bender and Guru Pathik told Aang back in ATLA.

Toph and Bumi faced off in the comics, they tied with each other, and that was Toph at 12 and Bumi at a 112.

Well, we did not see much of her.

Old age, like childhood, is pretty freeing in certain aspects. Perhaps this is a commentary on this.

This PTSD is really her main problem here huh. It would be nice to be able to connect with the past selves at a time like this.
Damn sweet seeing Toph again.

New bet:
Will Korra bend the metal out of herself soon or will Kuvira use it as a chekovs gun during the fight between the two? Or both?

Well, we did not see much of her.

Old age, like childhood, is pretty freeing in certain aspects. Perhaps this is a commentary on this.

Or perhaps she was literally just broken down by the job. Working with the Avatar and Sokka as Republic City was founded, she stepped up, matured and tried to keep the peace...then her maturity was heavily tested via problems with her family and the unending nature of crime. Eventually she just gave up.

Since leaving, she's been alone. Even being able to see things far away, isolation can definitely have effects on the psyche.

Solid episode that moved the plot along, which I should've expected. Was just hoping
for more Korra time and development. Great to see the direction they're planning, but they had to touch on the effects of the Coronation/Announcement for everyone, so we didn't get a lot of focus on anyone in particular. The last episode spoiled me for that :(

Oh crap, Zu Li
speaks. =o

A very solid, if unremarkable, episode. It was going to be hard to be as good as last weeks episode.

As mentioned above, the
Mako Bolin fight was the highlight.
It's so weird to see Bolin
get all serious and stuff
I liked it.

The stuff with
Korra and Toph was fine. I was afraid they were going to sweep it all under the rug by pulling out the mercury. Very happy that they didn't and we will get more of Korra's mental problems.

Kuvira always sounds like she is actively restraining her voice. Her power as well.

I have a feeling that her mastery of metal-bending has been understated thus far.
Something about Toph's comment raised alarm bells.

I really hope we see her cut loose during her inevitable villainous breakdown.
