Gematsu: Sony to hold Playstation Experience event in December

SF was confirmed to be multiplatform.

For Capcom's side, I would like to see Sony buy DMC and actually produce a sequel to 4. Seeing as how its a franchise that started on the PS, I think its a good fit for their stable of IPs, and fills a gap in their lineup.

Wasnt Knack supposed to be the PS4's "Crash like game". They used Cerny and make a game that young and old could both play. Imo very Crash nostalgic. Maybe Im way off. But Id guess Sony would make a Knack 2 rather than pay huge amounts for a new Crash. Sony seems to want to create their own versions of other popular IPs within their own first and second parties. So that you get hooked to both the Sony IP and console due to the exclusive nature of the IPs. Their 1st and 2nd parties are one of their biggest strengths afterall. And Japanese dev support to a lesser extent.

Sorry if i derailed.

I do agree its unlikely we'll see anything new. Just pre christmas hype machine. But Sony has been doing well and wants to toot its horn. Might as well do it when they can, since analysts predict a bleak future for the company as a whole. :(

if Sony ever did buy a Japanese Studio in some imagined land where there is infinite amount of cash and consequences don't occur

I'd rather have Level 5 then Capcom..... easier to manage and they are pretty good

Yup. Hack and slash/Character action games are the only thing Sony doesn't do all that much. Also, they can then contract Platinum to make the games for them.

well, that teaser includes the dates of the first Street Fighter game and the launch of the first PlayStation. It doesn't have to be Street Fighter V.

I doubt it would be a actual main title... more likely this spinoff is plausible

...
still I doubt it is anything to do with SF

While i agree with you that a main line sf is out of the question, a VS game would be possible and would have sf characters. Tatsunoko vs Capcom was an exclusive, and if Sony is partially helping or paying for it, it could happen.

Out of sync at the ending, push me off.

I'm bored and I have slightly fixed it..

So there is no actual conference for this. Then I doubt we will get anything notable out of this. Perhaps more footage of The Order and BloodBorne and trailers for Ratchet movie and game. Oh and announcement of Beyond Remastered Edition.

It kinda sounds like this event will be the hands-on for the stuff they show at VGX the night before.

Maybe whatever Geoff was teasing isn't VGA/VGX but a pre show for this event. The pre show will have the big announcements and trailers. And this event is demos and hand on for all 2015 games.

That show is dead. Its not even on TV anymore

after that Failure from last year, i doubt any big studio is going to unveil their games at the VGX anymore -

Sony is charging 50 $ for that event - They will present something definetly (atleast they should) (i mean new games)

If you talking about unannounced games, it is very unlikely will be the hands-on on this event because it is the public event.

Possibility only things in the event are known future titles - like Bloodborne, The Order 1669, etc... and new released titles like GTAV, LBP3, etc...

considering Crash hasn't had a game released in years and his most recent ones didn't generate much revenue it wouldn't cost them too much unless Activision are being dicks and overvaluing a mostly dead IP that is only worth a lot if Sony has it exclusive (the most successful ones)...oh wait it's Activision of course they won't sell it even though they know they can't do much with it. Hell Skylanders barely manages a million units when Spyro used to do MUCH more than that in the PS1 days. Activision ruined my childhood franchises and should sell them back to where they actually had lots of success with competent devs.

Scott Rohde said on the latest Playstation Blogcast that Sony will be showing a lot of stuff that they probably shouldn't.

And the VGA's are going ahead - Geoff is referring to them in the tweet.

He even answered a question on Twitter about whether they were going ahead this year with ''most definitely''.

I kind of think it would be smart of Sony to start announcing stuff at its own events like the original reveal. Make a big deal of it, advertise it. Get the stage and the headlines for yourself and whomever the dev is that is doing the reveals.

The hustle and bustle of E3 will remain and be left for big gameplay reveals or third party surprises perhapsz

I dont think that Ono shows Street Fighter 5.
If its a big Franchise and from Capcom (And probably not RE because new one was recently announced)... then we might see the small Blue guy again.

I would love another Rival Schools but its not really a big Franchise.

Sony vs Capcom would be great. Or another Marvel vs Capcom.

But lets just wait and see what comes.

Someone at SCEA run over your dog or something? You've been bitching about Sony something fierce lately.

Probably a miffed Vita owner. Can't blame him on that front :/

A strong Sony presence at the VGA would be awsome.

In fact, Sony should hold multiple events per year outside of E3, Gamescom and TS.

Keeps the PS brand in constant media spotlight.

I don't want it to be a 3rd party exclusive UNLESS it wouldn't have gotten made otherwise. I'd rather them announce a reboot of an old franchise.

Although with star wars 7 coming out next year kotor 3 would be amazing.

I really don't think anyone actually expects a established franchise to go full exclusive. If anything if there is a 3rd party exclusive at all its going to be a game that struggled yet has a hardcore following like Bayonetta.
