PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

Does anyone know if I'll be able to play DLC from EU store on my games bought in the US store? I want to buy Dead Space 2 :severed since it never goes o sale on US store.

The general rule of thumb is no. Different regions have varying product codes depending on the title. These create different folders for save data and I can only assume game data/DLC.

US: BLUS-30624
EU: BLES-01040

So sick of SCEE, we are always behind on the indie games secured by SCEA, yet whenever SCEE release an indie game secured by SCEE it comes out the same week in America :(

I imagine EU localization is a far more intimidating concern to US devs than US localization is for EU devs

Chaos Rings 3 bombed(i guess)
[PSV] Chaos Rings III: Prequel Trilogy (Square Enix, 10/16/14) – 12,436 (New)

Game of the Month voting starts today! Please vote for one Vita/PS4/PS3 game that was released in the month of October. You have one of two options: either PM me on GAF (which I would prefer) or tweet/DM me on Twitter (@whoiszero). Format the PM as such:
Subject: PSN GotM - <insert game title here>
Body: (optional - brief comment on why should people play this game or why this game deserves to be GotM)
Any incorrectly formatted PMs may be ignored. Voting ends October 31. Good luck!

Pix the Cat and Senran Kagura are tied.

Hype :P Although it has gotten mixed impressions on the import thread, I'm surprised at how people here seem to be so indifferent to the game. I know a few who, just like myself are hyped for it, but for the most part I don't see people talking about the game too much around these parts.
I thought FW would attract people, since it's stylish and a hunting game. Many of the people that imported said that the patch really fixed many of the issues the game had at launch so I'm pretty sure most people would like it. Also the physical copy of Freedom Wars is only 30 bucks, who can pass up on that?

I never thought I'd see the day that a Hatsune Miku game becomes one of my favorite games on the Vita but...it happened. I've forgotten all about Shinovi Versus at this point.

It's been so long since I've played a good rhythm game, I used to be all over Bemani games back in the day, from DDR to Poppin' Music to Guitar Freaks before Guitar Hero was even a thing, and Hatsune Miku brought back all of those good feels for me. Granted, it's not an easy game on the higher difficulties, but playing and getting better at it is such a joy. So glad I got it on that flash sale. I also had no idea how much I was gonna like it.

Can't stop playing KZ: Mercenary .. Botzone on the bus! Multiplayer through PSTV. Last minute game sessions on Vita in the bed before sleepy time.

Outstanding game, shame it came out late and seems largely ignored. It's basically everything everyone bitched the Vita didn't have all in one package

Did you try the demo of more than i beleive 20 songs of Cytus lambda? It has a hard mode that is challenging and more than 100 songs if you are willing to pay. Even when easy is maybe too easy, it is a joy to play. its like dancing with your fingers( how bad sounds that uh)

I was surprised by how much I liked Rainbow Moon, considering I'm not usually a big SRPG fan. I'll be getting the sequel for sure, hopefully the dialogue is a bit better this time.

Can I ask what you liked about it? I finished up the first area and I'm at the part where you leave by using a boat. Does the game get better?

Can you only vote for games this month?

Buy PDF 2nd and DJMAX, guys.

I can't find it on the German store either. No Vita compatibility makes it useless anyway.
That's the game that has SOTN included right? Is it a 60Hz or is it the bad PAL version?

Worth trying the store again - it has now (literally in the last hour or two) appeared on the Irish (and apparently, Australian) store. Still showing PSP only, but I've bought and I'm going to attempt to get it onto Vita via PS3 tonight. Not holding my breath, though.

DJ Max Technika Tune and DJ Max Portable 3 are also very good.

The latter is 1/3 the price of the former, though.

For something even more affordable, try MUSYNC!

Playstation Aus (or Playstation Europe I guess judging from where the e-mail came from) sent me a e-mail promoting already out/soon to be released Vita releases, wasn't expecting that. Usually all I get is PS4 new release promos, PS+ updates and what's new on the store.
Wait wait wait.
They're letting you support Perth but yet the only other place in Aus is Syndey? (not that i'm complaining seeing as how I live here) Weird location choices.

No Ireland at all.

Unless they change the absurdity of the last game's grinding, I won't buy this.

I didn't think Rainbow Moon was too bad for grinding unless you really wanted to max every stat, which isn't necessary. I mean, there's some, but it's a nice pick up and play game for vita when you have half an hour to burn and feel like a rpg. Just focus on the key stats for each class and grinding becomes fairly irrelevant (I'm 3/4 through the game, perhaps it changes?). Never upgrade MP or HP (they go up naturally, no need to boost them further).

I think it does? The story never improves, but once the difficultly ratchets up and you have several team members with very distinct abilities (I think you're still using just one character where you are?), I think it's a lot of fun. I like spacially aware arena turn based combat though (like arc the lad, disgaea, tits, etc).

To be fair, that is only for 3 days of sales. The report ends on the 19th, and the game released on the 16th. It might very well bomb, but I think you at least need a full week to know for sure.

This is the least/most fortunate acronym.

I wouldn't read too much into "not a full week of sales", day 1 alone is usually a very large spike, I wouldn't expect the full week to so much as double the sales count

I feel like I should've gotten Akiba's Trip instead of Neptunia Rebirth last month. I can't stand playing it anymore, not anytime soon.

Ugh just remembered to get Akiba'Strip.
...now what did I want to get it with?
Oh yeah the SF movie BluRays+Akiba'Strip off amazon, One Piece Vita off gamestop

No, this is never the case. It's bombed.

What is considered good sales for a Japan only release of a Vita game [that is ported from other, popular devices]? I honestly don't know what is/isn't considered 'bomb' territory for 3 days of sales. I realize sales are [usually] frontloaded except for sleeper hits, but that doesn't mean there can't be other factors at play when you're talking 3 days (holiday weekend, for example, relation to payday, etc).

The raw numbers for CR3 aren't the real problem. It's the fact that according to Famitsu, a huge amount of stock wasn't sold. That implies Square Enix were aiming "big."
