I felt a disturbing sense of glee as I watched laurel fail and get beaten. I have hated her for atleast two and a half seasons. I'm also glad Sara got killed because having to watch her do that thing with those skinny flappy things they call lips drove me insane. This post comes off a lot worse than I intended it to. I'm also sort of roflolling at thea displaying any sort of combat prowess. She weighs like 20 pounds, a strong wind could knock her out. Just some passing flatulence from Diggle would probably destroy her and send her flying into the walls. Also taking bets on how many episodes it takes for Laurel to have sex with that boxing dude. Also does anyone know wth happened to the actress playing Laurel she looks worse every season.

I was also sincerely disturbed by Malcolm decking thea with a right straight that could have put any goddamn boxer in the world to bed. Bareknuckled too. It was immediately rectified by the ridiculous fact that her face was completely unmarked.

I cringed during the Laurel scene. You know why? Because I *KNEW* that I had to read these types of comments from ArrowGAF for a few more weeks. Damn it.

Laurel didn't bother me, but the way her character is written really made her unlikeable. I cringed at the way she was beaten, but I i cringed more at Wildcat or whatever his name is - his smile/smirk when Laurel went to him just felt like it was sexual tension waiting to happen...ugh

I'm just glad that they finally, FINALLY, pushed Laurel into the proto-vigilante phase. They gave Cassidy some of her best scenes doing so.

I don't want Laurel to suck, and I don't get my jollies by watching her get beaten, but the writers do a shitty job with her pretty often. I just want her to climb out of that pit and kick some goddamn ass.

Fuck that scene was amaze-balls

Same here, but man... her b-plot from last episode was predictable as hell. Also CW-ized Wildcat :(

That comes off pretty badly, yes. You might want to look at yourself and ask if this is how you want to feel about this.

ETA: same goes for anyone saying these things. It's Mara on The Shield and Skyler on Breaking Bad all over again.

i was #teamlaurel before

then she magically forgets how to fight and now people want to like her?

im no longer teamlaurel. fuck her and fake ass ted grant

I don't think she forgot how to fight. In the scene you linked she jumps the dude from behind and takes him down by surprise (and some nice hits); in the latest episode she confronts a dude head on that is twice her size and quite logically, he just overpowers her and she gets knocked out. Sure, they've said she has some self defense background with her Dad being a cop, but that's not going to carry her through every fight, let alone the vigilante work she wants to take on.

in the second clip she takes on two guys breaking into her apartment..

she can't beat one dude WITH a weapon?

While I wasn't the nicest person to Veelk, this is one thing they can complain about. She magically forgets how to fight just so she seems weak and some young stud Ted Grant gets to bone her while teaching her the same stuff she already knew. cuz CW

Wow, some of the comments here, im getting Breaking Bad thread flashbacks with all the non-solved feelings of inadequacy about that time that girl refused to go to the movies with you.

In her defense, at the time of all the fights you linked of her, she was fit and had her head on straight.
In the fight she got her ass kicked she had gone through pill and alcohol rehab and her sister had just died so she was not right in the head at all.

I don't hate Laurel, kinda, I just want to see her character progress by the writers. I've come to accept our Laurel Black Canary Overlord and I'm fine with that. I just don't want to see her go through her training and start to kick ass only to become the damsel in distress where she NEEDS Oliver to rescue her and what not. At that point they should just kill her off and throw her into the bowels of Sara's chin dimple.

I'm perfectly fine where Laurel is. Her progression is starting to make sense, even if I still really hate the Wild Cat casting.

I'm gonna predict that detective Lance bites the big one this season and it's either going to be directly Laurel's fault or she will at least blame herself.

Slade gliding in and then floating away on a cloud of swag and testosterone while Laurel just sat there blinded by the manliness. So awesome.
Na, best scene is when Slade casually strolls into Ollies home and gives the most swagger of handshakes, Then continues to mind fuck Ollie for the rest of the episode.

Laura blame herself for someone's death? Lol. She will shift the blame as usual.

I said the Laurel thing was awesome. Not the best.

Dat Slade handshake of doom is the best. My favorite moment of the whole series. Especially because of Ollie's reaction.

Plz for the love of God don't kill lance. Still like the character and it would be nice for Laurel to have a season without grieving over somebody

It hasn't been unleashed yet this season, has it? It cannot be contained.

What if Lance dies, and the chest hair tries and finds a new host, then attaches itself to The Barrowman? It would only make him more powerful.

No one man can have this much power. Imagine if Barrowman was taken over by the chesthair AND took Slade's eyepatch!?

LOL. Slade's eyepatch isn't what gave him power. It was the salt and pepper hair, on its way to gray fox status that increased his power. That and the well trimmed beard, and buttoning the suit to contain all that power.

I got it.

Barrowman. A chest full of hair. A greying mane. An eyepatch. In a suit, loose tie so you can see a tuft of hair. Growing a beard, so you got a Big Boss-type thing going on there.

My God. Thanos and his Infinity Stones got nothing on that.

Loose tie? The Barrowman would not stand for it. Everything must be immaculately in place. The chest hair is only unveiled when needed.

Maybe it's just me, but Laurel looks wayyyyy better in Season 1. WTF happened? I'm not a big fan of Laurel either. I actually prefer Sara. RIP in peace....

Could they have pumped Sara full of mirakuru and revive her. When she's all recovered, pump that anti-mirakuru serum back in so she doesn't turn insane! Phoenix down! Yeah!

she lost weight or got some weird chin implant.

also...i dont think mirakuru brings you back from the dead i think isabel was still alive when she was injected. but with league of assassins involved there is always the lazarus pit...so i don't expect sara to stay dead. i wouldnt expect her to come back anytime soon though a that would kind of derail the whole laurel plotline that's going on.

Do we know what kind of bad Ray Palmer is in the show? I haven't followed any spoilers, nor do I know anything about The Arrow comics and its villains.

Laurel is terrible but if we were eliminating characters in Arrow just for being terrible it would be a Slade & Diggle buddy show with Felicity on support.

The worst for me is that I'm not even sure why I hate her. It's probably a combination of things. The dumbest part is probably her face. I'm not sure what it is, but somethings is weird and wrong about it. The thought of seeing her being the mask just irks me and doesn't feel right. And then her attitude and the way she's written, like there's always some kind of problem or drama she has to face. I guess it kinda reminds me of the problem I had with Halt and Catch Fire at the end. She just can never catch a break or have a genuinely good moment (in before: posters mentioning her good moments). I think for me it's just exhausting to follow her through all that shit and I rather had her killed than Sara.
