IGN plays Sunset Overdrive

The day of release OTs are really taking some getting used to.

I'm waiting on reviews to pull the trigger on the pre download

I look forward to the Giant Bomb Quick Look tomorrow...watching Brad play the multiplayer was somewhat boring but he said the QL is much more representative of the final game.

I couldn't make it to the end because I got bored. Really love the art design of this game, but that's about the only thing going for it in all the videos I have seen.

^looks a lot better than the 360p it defaulted me at ;)

It will be fun grinding around the world with cool weapons. Bit of silly fun. Love it. Especially together with the artstyle and open world.

It would be fun I mean.

That glacial movement.

Seriously, this game has a huge learning gap if the high skilled players can make the game look better than what IGN is playing

but then again I don't expect skilled gameplay from IGN

No matter how much I watch this game I never see anything that I would find fun. It's like everyone just grinds back and forth from a safe height shooting enemies on the ground.
Unless everyone was forced not to show off some amazing boss battles, I'm expecting a Metacritic average in the 60s.

Looks amazing. This game will review really good. Shooting and traversal sometimes looks a little cubersome sometimes, but it's something minor.

Where's the fun?

The robo-dog looked really fun to use. I hope the game features a variety of missions throughout to keep the carnage interesting.

I love how the city just looks like a big playground. When I spotted the tall buildings in the distance I immediately wanted to go to there.

since there's still no OT, did some gaffers already get the game and post impressions somewhere? If so, what's the consense?

The bullet sponge bosses feel counter-intuitive to it's design, considering you need to keep grinding backwards and forwards...ruining that sense of momentum and flow.

they are only playing the first few missions. there a flying enemies, enemies who also grind on the rails and block the rails.

also one thing I've been seeing is that Floyd tells the player to shoot the hurker with the flame gun first to set him on fire, then use the other pistol. yet nobody ever does that and end up using a ton of ammo on him
