For some reason I have a feeling this game is going to get mixed reviews, even though from what I've seen it looks great.
83-85
How many hours till the reviews?
7/10
Polygon will give this game at least a 9.
Why do you think that?
My pulled-out-of-my-ass guess too. The game's color and vibrancy an skill curve will get it high marks, but those will be balanced out by a polarizing art style (comic punk stylings and music) and the in-your-face and possibly forced humor.78-82
It won't get lower than 70. I'm guessing 78-90.
They seem like they're having fun playing it...
Hence why this thread won't go past 10 pages![]()
Game looks fun but I have a hard time convincing myself to pull the trigger when we are only two weeks away from Halo.
Meta: 84.
just hope that as the game goes on you proceed to more enemy dense areas, no fun amassing an arsenal and upgrades if you're still fighting handfuls of enemies at a time.
The day of release OTs are really taking some getting used to.

Yep, it's not coming out of that Polygon review with a score less than 9...
Can you tell floaty controls from video? Or did you play it somewhere?I really, really want to like this game but the controls just seem too... floaty, almost and I feel as if it'd get boring quite quickly.
I have a friend who is reviewing it who said most missions are just fetch quests
Still hyped for it though, hoping it's as crazy fun as it looks. Predicting an average score of 77.
Haha yeah maybe! I still think it looks fun, He also said main story was 12 hours @ 38% completion, and it makes fun of every video game stereotype including itself.Crazy Taxi + JSR + DR ?
I can have fun with that.
I predict 70-75 metacritic.
Just saw your stealth edit, nah he didn't which is why I'm a little worried. He said basically you meet people, they need something you go get it, rinse and repeat.
As someone who generally likes Insomniac's work (except for the seizure inducing Resistance 3) - I'm going to guess this game averages out to between 79-83.
sounds about right 78-85ish game
Reviewers just don't seem to "get" Insomniac games. Then again Insomniac doesn't seem to "get" what goes into a AAA title. Their catalog is generally nice to play, but rarely manages to rise above the trappings of whatever genre the title winds up in (the only notable exception being Resistance 2's 8 player class based co-op mode - which was amazing at the time).
Sunset Overdrive seems to not take itself too seriously, which I feel will help it score points with reviewers. I feel that the humor, or what I've seen so far, will be needlessly compared to Borderlands - the climbing and grinding to games like infamous, etc. Reviewers, unless they decide to use their brains for once - will compare the game to everything it isn't...rather than judging it for what it is.
I don't own an Xbox One, and even if I did I don't know that Sunset Overdrive would be a must have - but from what I've seen it just won't get a fair shake with reviewers - it's not a game they are going to "get."
Yep, it's not coming out of that Polygon review with a score less than 9...
Polygon is due for a high review score considering a few of their more recent reviews...
Much like their really high Forza Horizon 2 score?
They seem pretty consistent, with just a few falters in the past few games.

Is there any skill involved in the grinding? All the footage seems to suggest that once the player's on a rail, it's impossible to fall of unless he or she chooses to do so.
I had Sunset Overdrive preordered and paid off but changed it last minute to the MCC. I want this game to be awesome but some of the PR for it has rubbed me the wrong way (look at us! We're so clever, ironic, and outlandish!). Between MCC, AC Unity (which I may wait on), SSB Wii-U, and Dragon Age Inquisition: Inquisitor Edition, I can't really afford anything that I'm not sure about.
I wish this was released in the summer.
