For those wondering about other future PC ports and for those who want to know who to be grateful towards:

I don't work at SEGA though and I have an incomplete picture of what's happening behind the scenes, I did know some stuff. I knew Valkyria Chronicles was coming a few months back. I know more but people told me in confidence and I'll be keeping my word on such things. I will say this: If you want the other games, you should absolutely keep pushing the petition and if you have interest in Valkyria Chronicles you should buy it.

I think the main folks to thank (if you want to single folks out) are Grief (original twitter push), nillansan (who provided near constant moral support for what I was doing in the first couple of weeks despite a small amount of naysayers, he also made the thunderclap), Sajjaja (who was useless ), Dario (who made the original campaign video), Draikin (who made a video for Valkyria Chronicles to be included in the campaign) and Krusenstern (not sure if he's still on gaf but he helped with press pushes quite a bit)

It's extremely rare that I double dip but, sure, I'll do it for this. If nothing but as a way to support this release and Valkyria Chronicles. So many great things about this game. Soundtrack's awesome, too.

VC is more a turn based tactical RPG rather than the traditional jRPG. You should try it.

It's also kinda a third-person shooter.

I'm never quite sure under what genre to file "fucking fantastic" but it certainly fits in here.

Hmm...as long as the port isn't Lost Planet levels of awfulness, I'm there. Such a great game, one of my favourites of the last generation and I'm glad more people will have the chance to play it now.

The setting is more anime-ified (in a bad way), the maps are smaller (fucking PSP), and worst of all they came up with a terrible, grindy character progression system.

Yeah, I tried to like it but the bolded just drove me insane. I mean, why did they change it? The original worked so well because it had such a simple class based levelling system that allowed you to change your squad around at will.

That and the totally inane setting killed any interest I had in the franchise. Pity.

I said it in the other thread and I'll say it here: this game isn't for everyone. Don't let hype sweep you away.

The gameplay was incredibly clunky to me and it felt like the mish-mash of genres just didn't work. The story also just didn't click with me, I couldn't get invested.

That said, I am glad that more Japanese games are coming to PC. Good stuff. Just wish it was a game that I liked!

Probably cause it was a console strategy game, they are often a bit clunky. But still the core game was pretty fun!

Ah, that music really takes me back. Absolutely double dipping on this. I wonder what the odds are of getting Valkyria Chronicles 2, I never played it. I haven't heard...great things, but I'd still like to try it at least. I would ask about 3, but maybe I won't push my luck for now.

I would probably also replay Vanquish on the PC too. Just sayin'.

To be fair, when I said 2 killed my interest in the franchise that's only because they never released 3 over here. I would give it a chance if it were ported to PC.

Really love this game. This thread just inspired me to find some time and finish what's left of the game. It's a gem and it's a shame how bad a state the franchise is in right now.

It can be a really hard game sometimes though lol
