Annual Demon's Souls playthrough and Blu-Ray.
It's what I use mine for, otherwise it'd be thrown in the trunk years ago like my 360 was.![]()
Yes! I will buy this again SEGA!
Now
Release Y5, Y:ishin, and the new yakuza in the west!
I'm surprised SEGA gave enough of a shit to port it from PS3 to PC (probably not too easy). I'd hope that means that they care about the series still, since VC is a fantastic game and I'd love more.
Did Xcom: Enemy Unknown's success influence this decision at all?
To be fair, when I said 2 killed my interest in the franchise that's only because they never released 3 over here. I would give it a chance if it were ported to PC.
At this point, I really hope they give the franchise to Creative Assembly or Relic to work on. It seems like a no brainer, assuming the port does well.
2 went full on fanservice and really took the series into a direction I hated. So I'm glad we're getting the good one, before the series jumped the shark chasing after a demographic I'm not a part of and can't identify with.Oh I don't blame you for not liking 2, I love the VC series, but I have no desire right now to finish 2. I'm turned off by the leveling system for classes and the tank coating stuff. I don't particularly hate the anime HS setting, but I can see why people were disappointed with that. Plus I couldn't get use to the new classes and I missed my in game saving...not to mention the lack of a right stick for camera.
3 does a better job, even if on an obvious smaller budget, by scaling back the complexities and reblancing the classes. The squad is smaller, but you don't have to set up a squad list and you can change classes as you see fit and when more are available. The story is also an improvement though some of the dialogue is a bit weak from what I've been told, but the characters themselves are enjoyable. You may have to deal with waifu moments...but I imagine to most that is a welcome improvement over what 2 did.(which is why I prefer one certain ending to another)
2 and 3 went full on fanservice and really took the presentation of the series into a direction I hated. So I'm glad we're getting the good one, before the series jumped the shark chasing after a particular demographic I'm not a part of.
They added copious amounts of fanservice, moe characters, animu waifus and a high school setting. It's the Japanese equivalent of adding tits, gore, grit and dark character to appeal to some sort of nebulous teenage demographic in Western games (hello Fuse).
If Enemy Unknown was the reasoning, we'd probably have this PC port back in 2013.
Fair enough, I should've only said 2 and not included 3, I actually don't know anything about 3, I stopped following the series after seeing what 2 had become.3 doesn't have the school setting, and the other things are there since the first one I think.![]()

Double dipping the shit out of this. Utterly fantastic game. Fans of Nu-XCOM should definitely check it out.
